polishsweed Question for everyone. What's your power draw at your highest stable overclocks? I'm drawing over 300w on my best runs which can spike as high as 340w. That's right at the limit for max TDP on the stock BIOS.
Regular gaming overclocking I never see past like 310. Serious benchmark overclocking I'm thinking I'm around 340 but I can't say I've seen it higher although I've been paying more attention to the clocks. I assume these cards can push 520w out the box when set to 144% as 360*1.44=518.4
Was that measured from a Multimeter or the OLED?
The crazy thing is how little power is required compared to other cards. My FTW3 is a pretty good overclocker, (capable of hitting 2130 but can only sustain about 2050) and its hitting 320 to 360w while at the same clocks my Kingpin is like 100+w less.

I see a lot of people talking about restarting after applying the voltages. I haven't been restarting and it's still taking effect. When the driver crashes after failed clocks I have to close the tool and reopen to get it to take further changes sometimes. Is there any advantage to restarting after applying voltages?

You should do a soft reset after setting FBVDD to allow the memory to train. NVVDD can be adjusted on the fly.

Oh, okay. That makes sense. Question regarding power limit, are you actually seeing precision saying that you're hitting the power limit in hwm? Like the power limit going from 0 to 1? These binned gpus seem to just be way more efficient than most. Like I said my ftw3 hybrid reports 330 to 360w just to hit 2050 whereas the kingpin is almost 100 watts less at the same clocks. I just assumed you'd have to be doing some serious xoc to hit 500.

Driver/card will still limit power even if power peak is really short. PX1 reported power limit (0/1 value) need to reach some duration threshold before it flips.

Prob all about temps with the bigger rad. Card is clocking higher cause of temps.

Yeah, of course. not to mention the difference in silicon quality. I wasn't referring to the clocks. I'm referring to the 100 watts less the kpe is using at the same clocks as the ftw3.

So, I just got done doing some Port Royal runs as I was trying to get a 2200 Mhz score. ( https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/35599986? wish it was higher. temps made it clock down.) Ended up needing about 1.25v to get that stable enough to get through. In running at such high voltage I finally saw the power up in the 450s via the oled. So it looks like they will push some serious power but you just have to be pushing some serious voltage.

Yeah, it'll really start drawing power at 1.2v+, but that voltage is way to high for the stock cooler. How does your core vDroop look? I'd imagine you had a pretty high LLC level for that run? I managed this with auto voltage and +25mv on the manual dip switch with quite a bit of LLC at 3 so minimal droop. Still showed a power draw over 400w in GT2 through most of the run. https://www.3dmark.com/pr/81003

Yeah, I just don't think my card is as good as yours. I tried your settings and instant crash as soon as it hit anything at or above 2175. I left llc at 10 but it was really set at 1.29 to get it to 1.25. Temps were my downfall but I don't think it ever saw 50c so I don't think it would be considered dangerous, do you?. I started my runs once it got down to 30c or below and let her rip. It's probably about 65f in here.

Also, I'm doing runs with my ftw3 hybrid still in the second slot. Do you think I'd get any extra stability by taking it out? I figure I might get an extra 1% or less in score just from being at 16x but I'm curious about just raw stability. Maybe the extra draw on the pcie might be causing some instability at such high clocks?
