rblaes_99 what do yall think about the F4-4266C17D-32GTRGB on the 590 dark?
It's available on Newegg right now - that alone is a big positive, lol. $400. I spent $500 on lower clock (4000MHz) and higher timing (C19) 2x16GB Corsair Dominator Platinums a few months ago because nothing else was available at the time.

I don't have the system up and running yet (waiting for EVGA z590), but from what I've read on other z590 boards with 11900k, there are really two paths to go down for gaming performance. One path (with most success so far) is gear 1 mode (1:1) at 3600-3733 (depending on motherboard limits...EVGA's is TBD at the moment) with the tightest timings possible. Path two is gear 2 (which is required above the previously mentioned frequencies) and going for highest frequency possible. From some early tests I've seen online, 4266 cas17 would likely have worse latency and worse gaming performance in games than 3600 or 3733 cas14-16 in gear 1. Other performance metrics increase with the higher clock-speed memory, so there may be some benchmarks where path two (gear 2, higher MHz) is better than path 1 as described above. Another thing to consider is the whole b-die and overclocking/tuning of memory topic. I am not experienced in that at this time. I'm planning to change that in the coming weeks, but maybe someone else here can offer some suggestions as to what they think that kit is capable of. For example, I've bought a 4000MHz Cas16 kit that does that at 1.4V stock. I'm hoping to run gear1 with tighter timings. So does reducing the clock-speed automatically give you some more stability to tighten timings at the same voltage? What voltages are stable 24/7? I've done a little reading on this, but will be doing plenty more when I get my system up and running. I know you can google the part number and search b-die and there are a few sites that track all the kits that are made with the Samsung b-die, which is apparently amazing for overclocking and tuning. I started there when searching for a kit myself. As an aside, G.Skill announced some new memory they have coming out in a couple months targeted specifically for z590 that is north of 5000MHz stock. Those could make the gear2 options much better.

It's been 3 months since these mobos were announced. If we don't get some concrete info this week then I'm probably just going to buy another motherboard. Or maybe skip this gen.

So looking at the pictures just now, I literally just realized that the part number (sku) is on the FTW board. I could be wrong, but I believe the full part number will be 121-RL-E597-KR. If I had to take a guess, I'd say the Dark may be 131-RL-E599-KR. This is based on the z490 series; the FTW was 122-CL-E497-KR and the dark was the 131-CL-E499-KR (also z390 dark was 131-CS-E399). Of course the dark is a guess. These may only be helpful if you're trying to beat all the other Elite members in the first few minutes and need the sku for web-links.

On EVGA Twitch now with Jacob.. Z590 FTW in 2nd half April, should be in the next 2 weeks. Z590 Dark Jacob said not this month, "possibly May". That 'possibly' sounds like it may not even be out until June. Continuing to wait possibly until June seems excessively long, so it would seem I'm going to go for the ASUS Z590 instead, as much as I *really* wanted the Z590 Dark (the Dark played a significant part in me convincing myself to get the i9-11900K). I'll try for the FTW first I guess, but not quite the same thing.. and even that has been delayed a number of times looking back in this thread. Also I already moved to 2-stick memory for the Dark. On a more positive note - NEW products will first be released to Elite members only for the first 24 hours (queue system if insufficient stock), which is awesome.

Ouch. Yeah, this reinforces my current leaning towards the FTW. Looking elsewhere, unless I wanted to spend over $700, the best boards I could find had 16 phase VRM design and 2 less layers in the board. As someone who designs circuits and does PCB layouts for a living, I don't know that you can convince me a motherboard is better just because it has two more layers in it, but I think I want as many power phases as I can get on this hungry chip and if they've used the the extra layers to allow shorter traces (by having less traffic/layer to avoid) or increased # of planes for shielding or current-handling...it could add stability (emphasis on could). Will any of it be noticeable? Hard to say. Will the board be a little thicker and maybe help prevent flexing or GPU-sag on account of added stiffness? Maybe. Will it be noticeable? Meh, I don't know. But actually looking at them...even though all we have are render images (even though they've sent at least 3 that I've seen in giveaways already), the FTW looks better than other boards I can find from a design and functionality view-point. "Looking good" is subjective, but IMO, it looks fantastic. I've waited this long. I can wait another week or two. If for some reason I can't get one when they launch and it starts looking like months for them (here's looking at you 3000-series notification thread)...I may also have to pass.

I did a quick search and it does look like your part number for the FTW is correct, it's even embedded in the GA they had. There isn't a que for the FTW yet right? I didn't see anything to sign up for. Side note- If the Dark had 4 ram slots I might have been tempted to wait for it, but I really want 4 slots so it locked me in on the FTW, especially since it is coming out sooner.

Sounds like the Dark will be dead in the water release again and be discounted immediately so at least that is nice lol.

What the hell do you mean "dead in the water?" It'll sure be used to set World Records and sell out everywhere. I have a ton of interest from customers and friends and family for this mono so not sure what you're on about bruh.

lol true DEJ915 - always a silver lining . Unfortunately combine the continued delay in release with an end-of-line socket, and what looks to be an excellent motherboard may end up just being in some ways a wasted effort for many who would have otherwise jumped on this. Still, maybe this will allow them to iron out any PCIe 4.0 issues for the next gen.

Yeah pretty much, being late just means poor sales people can only wait so long especially with rumoured Alder Lake platform coming in a few months. I just hope these aren't pre-scalped like the Z490 Dark was with the only version at launch was the "signed by KP" where it's not even autopen signed it is literally just printed on the box lol. At discount they were fine imo ($400 when I got mine) but with the Apex being $400 from the beginning it made no sense to buy the Dark even if you did wait around for it to come out. The other brands OC boards are also not available yet so they may actually sell more this time.

Yeah I wonder about availability of Alder Lake though - scalpers will be all over it - and delays on the release date too given Intel said something recently about shortages. The Z590 (and ALL new EVGA releases from now on - CPU, GPU, PSU) will be available ONLY to Elite members for the first 24 hours (queue system), so that should help cut down scalpers getting in first. Good job EVGA. Yup, I got the Z490 Dark KP on sale too

Came across this video today (another by skatterbencher...I might have to follow this guy). Obviously, it's not an EVGA board...because there have been further delays...but he goes into quite a lot of detail of the 11th gen overclocking features and all the ways you can look to tweak the 11900k. He has another video that I posted earlier in this thread where he just shows a few benchmarking results with different OC methods, but this one is THOROUGH lol. He's also done OC videos on 11600k and 11700k, which looked kind of interesting.

Yup, may have done too much research on my "backup plan". Is it still a "backup plan" if you've returned the primary plan (aio) and ordered a new cpu block, reservoir, 420mm rad, and all the necessary components for a custom water loop? I feel a mods rigs post in my future. Edit: The future is now (for the mods rigs post...obviously the build is still in the future on account of we're still a couple weeks away from z590 and now I have parts coming from Slovenia to wait for (insert Darren Farley impersonation of Harry Kane saying "yeah ovvioshleh"))

Yeah...it is looking very much like the resizable BAR bios updates...it was "March"...then "late March"...then "the very end of March".
