This really sucks... I really wanted to go Titan this round. I'd rather not spend 1200 on a gpu that isnt covered under EVGA

+1
Also, it is highly certain nvidia new TitanX will suffer with temperatures.

I agree.  I am always reading that people are having great temps with their FE cards.  Then you find out they are at 80-100% fan speed.
No thanks- If the 1080 is 160-180 watts and is pushing the FE cooler what is the Titan X going to do at 250-275 with the same cooler!

I have my 980ti Hybrid at 1500/7800 stock bios +25 mv in AB with push-pull AND the pump on my fan controller it is very very quiet for music and surfing and I can control it perfectly when gaming.  I hope to use an AIO kit on every card from now on.

Like the previous Titan X, this card will probably not come with a backplate. Does EVGA have plans to release a Titan X backplate?

Yes the new Titan X P does come with a back plate from the photos I have seen.

I will find out in a couple of days when mine arrives. Finally a just enough SINGLE card to run iRacing on 3 U3014 Dell's. I did not want to SLI anymore as single cards just perform better on this sim. 1080 would have been borderline on a single card.

For those who can't wait, a user on [H]ardForum used the 1070/1080 Hybrid on his Pascal Titan X.  The midplate needed to be modified due to an extra power phase (second pic) in addition to the shroud for the extra 6-pin.

Can confirm it comes with the same backplate design as the 1080.

Not as badly as Maxwell.  At 100% fan mine boosts to and holds 1823 MHz during gaming.  Turning it down to 70% it will stay at 1767 MHz.  With the default fan curve the card settles at 1682 MHz.  By comparison my Maxwell EVGA Titan X SC would settle at the stock 1126 MHz with the default fan curve on the blower and push 90C.  The fan on Pascal is a lot quieter than Maxwell at the same RPM, but I am still anxiously awaiting the Hybrid kit.

Hi Jacob,

Very pleased to hear this! My Titan XP arrived a few days ago and it cries out  for better cooling.

I had two of your hybrid kits for my 980 Ti's and they were one of my best PC purchases ever, I was really impressed.

Will be ordering one as soon as they are released.

Any clues as to how long the design/production process will take? :P

Honestly, the best thing that could happen to the Titan series (aside from price changes) is allowing the partners to construct custom versions of it.  The hybrid cooler would be nice, but the card still only has an 8+6 pin for power.

Sadly, Nvidia has never allowed AIB custom Titans.

Are we certain that the 1080 AiO kit won't fit the Pascal Titan?

http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=400-HY-5188-B1

It's made for other versions of the 1080 other than the FE, so it must have room for another power connector, right?

I know EVGA is working on a hybrid kit for the Pascal Titan, I'm just very impatient. This thing needs water cooling.

Actually what it needs is an EVGA version. Very sad to move away from my favorite GPU brand.

It may do, depending on what versions it was made for - I believe fitting it requires complete removal of the cooler? - In which case memory cooling may not work.

I'm impatient for one too, but, I think we are best waiting for the official Titan X P version - it may even be easier to fit due to reference only. I'd rather have something specifically designed for the card.

I was considering this Titan but the stock cooler is too hot and loud. The card is a beast at 2000mhz+, it was made for water.

I set mine at a steady 1800mhz boost clock (and memory at +550x2) and it stays at 70-72C with the fan at 70%. It's not too bad, pretty much the same as the 1080s I had. They would OC up to 2080mhz but only with the fan on full blast, and even then it was hitting 82C and the 2080 wasn't steady, there were plenty of thermal drops. Putting water cooling on them definitely kept them cooler though they didn't clock any higher.

I'm going to put the Titan underwater first chance I get. I was looking at EK but that's just too expensive when I know a decent AiO unit is coming from EVGA.

It sucks that nVidia are not allowing AIB partners. EVGA can have my money anytime, when it comes to GPUs the Hybrid conversion is worth it and really allows the GPU to run at it's full potential not to mention safer and quieter! And having GPUs run at 44C in games like The Witcher 3 in 4K/3440x1440 is great. Since my Hybrid conversion my SLI clocks are stable on both GPUs, on air they were very jumpy, Maxwell on air was a lot more stable...

This move by NV really surprised me...wasn't there an EVGA TITAN, TITAN BLACK, TITAN Z and of course GTX TITAN X?
I'm not talking about custom coolers and all the AIB partners...but EVGA surely?? They have the best AIO cooler for it.
If this was a EVGA TITAN X I'd buy right now...but yeah I'm not buying such an expensive GPU with a stock cooler that your stuck with forever (well a few month haha!)...unless you want to lose warranty.

Good thing is there is something to look forwards to in the future...we still need 4K 144HZ, c'mon ASUS!

It will fit.  As I said above, the only other consideration is that there is an extra power phase on the PCB the 1080 doesn't have, so the midplate needs to be modified.  The unlinked URL will take you to a post where the user posted pictures.

I'll be patient.  Much like the 1080 this thing is power limited, so better cooling will only get you more stable Boost (and quieter operation, of course).

Its a 1200 dollar card. It deserves to be watercooled. seems like anyone who would spend 1200 on the card would spend a little more to cool it well.

Except, nvidia doesn't allow cooler modification lmao... That's the whole problem here.

Nvidia warranty doesn't state that anywhere.

Really? Let me point it out for you....

WHAT DOES THIS WARRANTY NOT COVER?
....misapplication of service by a party other than an authorized service representative....

In other words. If you install a cooler, and your card fails, they have an easy out on warrantying the product.

Even with that they're going to have a hard time proving the card had an aftermarket cooler on it as the cards come with no tamper stickers. None of my cards have tamper stickers on them.

First thing I checked when I got mine - no stickers lol you can def put a block on it and if it breaks out the stock one on and return it - that's exactly what I'm doing.

Its honestly not loud at all but then again I'm not overclocking mine until I get an AIO hybrid cooler fan sits around 20-30% which is not noticeable however I know I am not getting the most out of my card. Hitting 77-84c with fan speeds 20-30% isnt ideal but it the card runs great still at 1500-1700mhz. I am super tempted to put a Hybrid 1080 cooler on my Titan and just cutting a hole for the 6 pin power connector.

Considering EVGA is still trying to get the 1080 and 1070 FTW Hybrid out the door, I'd say we still have awhile. I can't imagine EVGA is going to get down on their hands and knees to help NVIDIA Titan Xp customers before their own 1080 and 1070 customers.

I'm sure running at stock speeds with the default fan curve doesn't produce any noise but you're also cheating yourself 10% performance increase and even at stock speeds with the default fan curve, you're going to be missing your max stock boost clock.

Point is, the default cooler is awful. EVGA can't come through with the Hybrid soon enough.

If eVGA isn't selling a Titan X Pascal with attached Hybrid cooler then I am not buying the new Titan X Pascal. I will not pay $1200 for a video card I then have to modify and potentially void my warranty. I will just have to keep my current eVGA Titan X Maxwell Hybrid until one of the following happens:
  • My current card dies (Unlikely as that is as I've never had an eVGA card die plus it was a 10 year warranty)
  • My current card cannot handle 1080P
  • eVGA is allowed to sell the latest Titan with a hybrid cooler.
  • 1080 Ti card is released and eVGA sells it with a hybrid cooler.

1080p? Unless you're doing 200% DSR then you're going super overkill. Upgrade your monitor bro! Skip a GPU gen and spend that money on a decent monitor.

The 1080 card handles a lot of UHD content far better than I thought it would. The new Titan would likely add 25% or so to that, meaning (mostly) 60 FPS.

I'm sorry, but I'm not giving into their obvious money grab. $1000 was a lot, but now they want $1200? Forget that.

AMD needs to so something very soon. There's no competition in the top tier GPU class.

The sad part is that people will buy this card up just like the OG Titan X. If it didn't sell well, they might reconsider their pricing and lower it. Instead, more than likely, it'll sell out everywhere and Nvidia well list their next Titan X at $1400-1500.

The average life span will only decrease too.
