It's not acceptable for 2k+ card in my opinion. And it blows my mind that no Youtuber has discovered and talked about this issue yet!!
As many cards are in the wild It would seem like this is a real small number, sorry for your luck but there is no evidence this is widespread
I had a 3080 Hybrid and 3080 Ti hybrid and both were dead silent , MY KPE started up like an old fridge and I hit the power button and unmounted the Rad and held it straight up with with some slight shaking and it cleared right up in about 5 seconds , Ran silent since June last year. The cooler internals are most like Asetek, Built for EVGA's design and I assure you its not a lack of care

Thank you Emwun. Was just about to post that lol. There's people they already did RMA twice because of the pump and still got a mini refrigerator/ compressor. So yes @kraade I would say it's a lack of care. Lack of care in terms of Quality Assurement in production for sure and then in the RMA department for not checking any possible pump issues before shipping it out to people who paid for a premium card! I haven't found yet one example on newer CPU AIO products with these issues. They are all silent. And EVGA claims they use the new Asetek pumps on their marketing materials (on 20 series too and they suffer from the same issues and you found even more threads there).

I am NOT excited about the idea of having to wait 6+ months for the block. I'll be looking at 4000-series card announcements by the time I get the block. I think I'll either return the Kingpin or sell it (haven't even taken it out of the box) and maybe try for another Kingpin next time around.
Kinda sad, as I've never even seen a Kingpin before. Now I still may never, as taking it out of the box is almost certainly not going to happen unless I find an Optimus block on eBay or something.

Hmm. Well, you've given me something to think about. I still don't know if it's worth swapping this in for my 3090 Strix which has been very well behaved, has a second HDMI port, and is pretty consistent in its 2100-2160 performance range. BUT the opportunity to throw more power at it if I want to, the cute screen, and that extra 5% is tempting. Especially considering I can easily sell the Strix for what I got the KPE for. I have a couple weeks to decide (I did start an RMA today with EVGA for it just in case), but I'd need to know that I could get that block in a reasonable amount of time. Because again, come summer time, we're all going to be prepping for that 4000-series launch. I wouldn't have had time to enjoy the KPE in my loop if we're talking no block until March or April, you know?

Considering that they haven't even hit noon orders on the first day of preorders, 7 or 8 weeks after they started shipping preorders, its still going to be a very long wait.

Considering they don't respond to emails or anything I'd suggest avoiding buying from them. They make a great block but are among the worst, if not the worst company I've ever dealt with. If I didn't already have my block I'd cancel my order and sell the KPE rather then give these POS a single dime. I've only been emailing and trying to contact them for over 3 weeks now without a single reply. For the longest time I was one of if not the biggest defender of Optimus. Not anymore. They deserve to have their business die for the lack of CS and their refusal to hire one.

Could always list the kingpin and get in line for the block. If it sells before you get the block great, if not, you get the block and keep the card =)

Nice to see the raw copper variants starting to be shipped out. Shawn, are you having issues with the block you might be willing to share on? It might help other users to see what issues you encountered during your use. I believe Optimus converted your hybrid to their block. I know of atleast one other user who is having issues with the alignment of the front and rear block with the terminal block which is also impacting the overall seal of the unit. For those who are getting their blocks, I posted my build notes here in this thread a few pages back (page 19 of this thread). I still have yet to get my KP into my pc due to my house being renovated, but I did get the block to seal and pass the pressure test after having initial leaks.

On a side note, a build I am about to work on I did recommend their AMD block so the guy went to their site and ordered it. I told him that he would need to wait after he ordered it, but to our surprise he got his shipping notification the next day. This was for a AM4 block. They seem to be getting a decent number of reported shipping notifications this week so maybe they got a few things figured out or caught up with the materials needed to send these blocks out.

Yeah just frustrated with the CS. Just maddening they haven't hired a team to handle it yet or have a ticket system or something better then the void they have now. Everything else I can't say enough good things about them. Just frustrating as hell to deal with cause there will be times I get an instant response and can even have a conversation and others when it's like you're screaming into the void. Makes me want to have a hair pulling tantrum but I can't since I'm an adult so I vent here

It all comes down to your financials and if you plan on keeping your KP. If you are keeping your KP, then I'd keep my order if you have the financial means to. I really don't think there will be another option to come out for the 3090 KP. It's either this or the HC but unless you buy the MP5 works active rear plate it might be very hard to get similar results when compared to the Optimus block. The earlier you order, the faster you'll get it. It may not be the answer you are looking for, but it's I do think this is the situation. I'm hoping that the pattern Optimus has in the past with new block releases holds true to the KP block at this point. While they may have struggled to get past the initial pre-orders like other blocks, once they catch up you are looking at about 4-8 weeks.

I still can’t get a reply from anyone. This is what pisses me off the most with them, some can get reply’s and others go into the void. No matter how many emails, tweets or direct messages on Reddit, I get nothing.
