drax3d After speaking with Optimus support about order status they said that they're still making improvements to their production pipelines to get orders out faster.
Didn't get an ETA for my order, but it's positive that they realize their process needs more refinement.
Got the same reply from them a couple days ago, which was 45 days after I sent them a message asking about order status... I ordered in early Nov. order number 62xx I wonder what my wait will be. When I ordered I'd did say 5-6 weeks but its been 8 already.

rblaes_99 yea the mp5 works videos have them installing the backplate with the GPU already in the system. it just kind of bungie clips on and your done.
sounds nice, but i feel like it was not that simple for folks with the HC block mounted...issues with the originally packaged clips being too short and the OLED / SLI connector being right where you'd want to clip them on. i'll report back this weekend if i get it in the mix.

bavor I've seen varying experiences with Optimus and their customers and communication. Maybe its certain times of the year are worse than others? Most of my previous orders were during spring and summer. The other people I know who bought parts that were supposedly in stock and took forever for them to arrive with no communication from Optimus after multiple contact attempts were also during spring and summer.
So you're saying that for 6 months out the year expect no decent responses? Not really an acceptable business model, there. USMC1419 Got the same reply from them a couple days ago, which was 45 days after I sent them a message asking about order status... At 62xx you're going to likely have a while to wait. They still haven't shipped out everyone's orders in the 5200/5300 range.

The main issue really is if you are keeping your 3090 Kingpin your options are very limited and wont get any better. Only options so far are the KP HC kit from EVGA or the Optimus block. Unless you are going to sell your KP and get the newer 3090TI or if they come out with a new KP based on the TI. Even if they do release a new version of the KP TI, there might not be a block available for it so if you have an open loop then you would be stuck with a KP TI with no block option for it. With the 40 series supposedly coming out late 2022 or early 2023 I would think companies wont be willing to make a block for a limited release item like the KP if the pcb design is different than the standard 3090 TI. This would all depend on EVGA and how they design the KP TI and if it would require a different PCB. If so, then with the limited time the new 3090 KP TI is available before the 4000 series comes out and the limited number of KPs to be released I would think your options would be extremely limited. I would hope that EVGA would take that into consideration and try to keep the pcb layout the same for the 3090 TI and the KP Ti but there could be performance issues which would require a change of the PCB that could be unavoidable. I do hope that Optimus will be faster getting the blocks out to those who pre-ordered theirs. The track record with new releases hasn't been the greatest, but once they are able to catch up with the pre-orders they have shown that they are able to get the blocks out in the 6-8 week order timetable as long as they have the materials in to complete the kits. The Optimus products are great, but honestly I just wish their service side could catch up. The release of dates they share are not accurate and if they were more transparent it would make the purchasing experience a whole lot better. The products they make I still believe are the best or right up there so you do get your monies worth imo. It's not cheap, but the materials they use, the finished product, and the performance are all there.

Not the same block as the KP I think, but I finally got my Optimus block for the 3080ti FTW3 several weeks ago. They'd said on the website that it might take 4-6 weeks. Ended up taking two months. Totally worth the wait. With that block on the card feels like it's what happens when a tank mates with a Swiss bank vault door. Performance has been stellar.

I'm 5265, that was two hours after their pre order email went out. From the forums I've read somewhere around order 5214 was the first kp block order.

Hello all, I just pulled the trigger on a Kingpin and wanted to know if people are starting to receive their waterblocks. Have normal orders started to ship, or are they still shipping preorders?
And for those that have received their blocks, what kinds of temps are you seeing and what are your settings?
I believe their website says shipping 5-6 weeks after preorders ship, but not sure if that means the 5-6 weeks after they have completed preorders?
Thanks!

I had 5211 and I think there was a few before me. I ordered the night before the email went live because someone posted here a link that allowed you to find the page on the Optimus site where you could order it. This was the night before the page actually went live on their website. They are still working on pre-orders so the time frame of 6-8 weeks might be a small stretch. Since you already ordered your KP if you plan on keeping it this would more than likely be your best bet. Order it asap so you get in line before others, but be prepared to be waiting on the block for atleast 6-8 weeks based on past experience. This could be pushed back a bit further since they are still working on the pre-orders but if you order now you'll be closer to getting your block. In the past, I've ordered a couple of FTW3 blocks and they have been running the 6-8 week time from order to ship out. I recently did my last FTW3 order with them in October and got the block in late November/earl December. I know it was about the 6 week period though. When I ordered my first block back in March, it took till April to get it. That one was around the 8 week period from time to order to shipping. If you plan on keeping your KP and want to put this in a custom loop, this to me really is your best option.

That is what I am thinking, pull the trigger now. My KP will be here around the 19th of Jan. I have their Absolute Block on my FTW3 and am super impressed. I haven't seen anyone's results with the KP block however, what kind of results are you getting? My absolute block give me about 3 to 4 deg delta and my Port Royal score is at 14.9k. I've always wanted a KP card, I just hope I can beat my FTW3 scores. J

Congrats on your order. Since you ordered from them before you kinda know the timeframe from the order to actual delivery of the block. For me, I still have all my stuff packed away since my house is under renovation. I was able to get some of the things I needed to convert my hybrid to the block but I need more space and for it to be clean to work on my pc, bend new tubes for the loop, and get this into the system. After I get everything in, I still will need to do a whole system pressure test to make sure there are no leaks. I know my block is solid after it leaked when I pressure tested the block by itself. The cold plate was the issue of all things. I am hoping a couple of weeks more till I can try and find some time to work on my pc. I think there are a few others who are close to getting their KP with the Optimus blocks into their systems. Hopefully they can post their information and results soon.

Don't overestimate the total number of KP cards and people who own these cards really do water cooling. A reasonable estimate would be 100 to 150 preorders.

That's my thoughts too. Probably a relatively small number. Not a ton of KPs out there to begin with and a much much smaller amount that custom w/c and want to shell out another 600 on a block with no eta. drax3d
At 62xx you're going to likely have a while to wait. They still haven't shipped out everyone's orders in the 5200/5300 range.
Yeah maybe, I don't think order number is super important this far out, most of those 1000 orders between my order and the pre orders were likely other things like fittings, reservoirs, other blocks for CPU/GPUs. It's just sequential numbers. And I've read that a decent amount of people cancelled their preorders too. But we'll see. Hoping by end of Jan/Early feb.

All depends. If it's not the same PCB design, likely not at all.

I also concur that there were not all KP owners were going to buy the Optimus block as those who already have the HC kit and converted theirs might not want to go through the process again while paying 600 plus for another block. There were many orders for other parts like the fittings and other blocks since the release of the KP block so it would be also safe to assume that while your order number may be a bit away that your place in line is no where near the gap in order numbers. It's better to get in line now rather than wait if you do plan on keeping your 3090 KP if your finances allow. To me, if you are going to keep your 3090 KP, this is the block to get if your budget allows and you can wait for it. I will also share that the completed block is really heavy and i do believe you will need to get some sort of support post to help with the weight of the completed block. Even with a vertical mount, I'm adding post supports to my block to help with the weight. I think that Mech9t5 was in the 5240s so if that is correct then at the very least they are close to that spot as of a couple of weeks ago. Not everyone posts here that ordered a block so it's hard to say how many actual orders there were and how many cancelled there's as well. I also don't think the current 3090 blocks will fit the soon to be released 3090TI as there have been a few leaks that point to the existing blocks will not fit. A new block or revisions to the old design would be needed. A company like Optimus if they are able to get their hands on a pcb might be able to turn around a new block fairly quick once they can see how much changes to their existing design would be needed. But for sure, the active rear plate might not be needed since the VRAM is supposedly moved from the rear of the PCB to the front with the TI.

In agreement with everything here. I just wish Optimus would be even a LITTLE bit more transparent with the amount of orders/true timeline and realistic wait times. For me, I'm just running my KP as is now with stock AIO and my CPU is AIO as well. I have every other component that I need, a new case, all that stuff ready to go into a new build awaiting Optimus.

I agree with you USMC, it wouldn't hurt to post the actual order numbers pending the blocks in the order they are planning to send out. They could put a note on the list like subject to change due to availability of materials and other delays. It's not like there is anything else close to this block out there that they are competing with. This is part of the issues I posted earlier here and at overclockers about the numbers being sent out. As much as people don't like to wait, the bigger issue is the frustration that grows the longer the delay is with no accurate information as to what the status is or how much longer it is going to take. I was like you earlier with them waiting on the block because I have a 2k plus gpu sitting waiting on the block in add it to my loop. Because I missed my window to work on my pc due to renovations, my KP even though I got my water block on it is sitting until after the renovations are done to my house due to lack of tools, clean work area, and time. I had my renovations planned to start in late November so had the block been released when they initially shared I would have been able to get all the work done before this process started. When I ordered my initial FTW3 block it was the same exact thing like you as I had everything waiting for a full upgrade but the block. I have to say that although i had to wait like 2 months for that one, it was well worth the wait as the performance is strong and I am hoping for a similar or better outcome relative to the new kingpin once I get it into the system.
