It doesn't seem like they are shipping via order number. Mines is 5211 and it shipped out yesterday. My order was silver with nickel. Others with black had theirs sent out earlier than mines even though my order number was lower than theirs. To my knowledge, my silver/nickel block might have been one of the first in that color configuration. Seen mostly black from those who posted they got their shipping notifications or actual pictures of their blocks. Seen a white one on ebay yesterday, but no order info on that one.

My order was black and hasn't shipped yet. I ordered ont he first day they were available. They seem to be jumping around colors. First was a few black blocks. Then I saw some with white blocks got theirs. Also, it doesn't seem to be going by order number from what others have said.

I think my order number is low, but wasn't one of the first to go out. Not sure exactly how they are sending them out, but mines might be one of the first to go out is silver/nickel. Mines is still showing up on UPS as coming in next week since I selected UPS ground when I ordered the block. Now that we are in the latter stages of the Holiday Season, shipping times are longer. If I had thought we were going to be waiting till around this time of year to get our blocks, I would have chosen the 2 day air option instead. I'm just getting impatient though since my tools and GPU are packed up still due to ongoing renovations at my house. I did have a question though for those with the KPs. Did you need to have your GPU on to actually change the values of the dip switches? I believe on my 3090 bios switches that the gpu had to be powered on for the gpu to register the changes. Just wanted to verify since I didn't change out the dip switches yet but when I put the block on I need to preset my dip switches because the rear block will cover the switches.

I believe Gotspeed is referring to these dip switches. Doesn't the back water block cover these switches? https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=24G-P5-3998-KR#images-9

The bios switch nor the dip switches need the gpu powered on to register. Bios switch just seems that way because of the oled animation. Gpu bios loads at post. So if changed while powered on, it needs a restart to apply.

And yes the kp block backplate does cover the dip switches. I wouldn't even worry about them. They can only increase nvvdd by 50 milivolts, and a little extra load line calibration. All of which can be done with classified tool.
But it's up to you.

Thank you guys for the replies. I haven't gotten the classified tool yet as my Kingpin is still in the box. I'll be looking at that once I start using the KP but for the meantime I was thinking of throwing a couple of the switches. I should have used them when I was messing with the KP when I first got it on my test rig, but I've since packed up and put away those parts since I'm having work done at my house. Bavor, I'm not sure when you ordered but if it was before my order 5211 then it would reinforce that they are indeed jumping around. I know a couple of blocks after mines at the very least shipped out before mines. I'm not sure if it was the cold plate or something else, but mines was silver/nickel. While mines has finally shipped, I'm hoping that Optimus can speed up the shipment process of those who are still waiting for theirs. I did get an email from them the day of shipping responding to an email I sent earlier asking for a status. They shared in the response that my block was going through pressure testing and that if everything was good it would ship out. They did send mines out later the same day. Just got an update via email that UPS will be dropping off my package today.

Got my Kingpin block yesterday. Here are the pictures of it along with the white FTW3 block I ordered earlier and shipped separately. The Kingpin block looks silver in person, the photos didn't come out well due to lighting issues. Sorry, but my house is a mess right now with the renovations going on. The front side Kingpin block silver/nickel The back side Kingpin block silver/nickel White FTW3 block. My order was 5211 for the Kingpin block.

They almost look identical in color. 5211 and you just got it. I'm 5268, I think if I don't get it by the end of Dec I'm going to cancel. Gone this long with with stock aio may as well continue using it til I sell the kp to then get next Gen kp. Edit: order 5265

While I can't tell you guys what to do, we all have waited too long for this block imo. However the block and the GPU match each other really well along with the price you pay for both the GPU and the block (they are both high). To me, Kingpin owners and most other owners of 30 series cards are stuck with the issue of the GDDR6X chips being on the back side of the gpu generating so much heat. With other blocks like the EK, they are also realizing the positives of having some sort of additional cooling on the GDDR6X chips over stock offerings from AIBs. What makes it harder is that for the Kingpins we are even put in a tougher spot since the GPU is a limited release item no other company would be willing to do a block let alone a block that adds backside cooling as well. To me, as long as you own the current model of the 3090 based KP you are put in a tough spot. Unfortunately for users, the delays by a small company like Optimus put a lot of salt on the table along with the lack of clarity but the positives also are there as well. Optimus has shown in the past once they get past their initial issues, that they can produce products within the timeframes they advertise. Getting to that point is the issue that I think they still need to work on, but the product looks finished and is the only real option to me for Kingpin users until another company comes in and produces a new block capable of being mounted on the Kingpin series of cards. If you have your order in, especially if it's in the 5200 series you should be close. Just because your order number might seem far off, it might not be since Optimus order numbers are sequentially issued I believe. People who ordered other blocks or parts could be between your order and say mines which reduces the number of actual people waiting between you and I. 5268 really isn't too far from my order number imo. I also thought about selling my KP while I was getting frustrated waiting on the Optimus block but with the pending release of the new gpus there is no absolute I would be able to sell the KP and then obtain a new gpu without having to wait months again. I really thought this option out as I am fortunate to already have a 3090 running in my system and really didn't need to put in the KP, so this was something I really thought out for me. I really didn't want to wait another 5-6 months again to try and get another Kingpin if I am able to which was the largest factor in me staying the course with the KP and Optimus. My blocks look fantastic to be honest in person, the color similarity is because of poor lighting at my house right now. I am having major renovations going on at my house right now while also trying to live in it as well. We haven't had a kitchen for 4 weeks now and with the living room also being worked on it's put a strain on space for me and my family. In person, the blocks do look different and I'm happy with the appearance of the products. I have a Optimus block in my rig, the white one I bought in October for my son's computer which I recently did upgrades to. The white FTW3 cerakote finish is also outstanding and will match his build very well. I am going to do another upgrade for him using a Asus Z690 Strix A which is also a white board and move him to the 12900K along with this block. White builds just look great with the addition of some RGB. The silver cerakote finish on the Optimus KP block looks great in person. Only time will tell how the cerakote process holds. up. Once I am able to get to my parts and tools along with having an area to work in I'll get on getting the block installed and get pictures up. But it wont be for a couple more weeks more than likely due to my situation.

Gotspeed yea makes sense, but my kp is the only 30 series I was able to get. But I also sold my 2080 ti kp six months before 30 series launched. I kind of have to if I want the new gen.
But with the 2080 ti kp, with its aio would never have fit in my case o11 dynamic. So waterblock was only way and it still would have been a pain with the power connectors. The 2080ti kp ended up only being used with ln2. Same for 30 series kp. No way was I paying 300+ for the evga block. So I got excited for the Optimus block being finally able to use the kp in my daily system after playing with ln2.

Gotspeed_2000 My order was 5211 for the Kingpin block.
Order 5223 and no shipping confirmation this week. Wonder if they have more issues with supply, seems like they would have been able to get them out at a more constant pace if they had they weren't short on something else.

I'm not sure what it could be. I ordered extra thermal pads for the front and rear for my FTW3 along with the pads for the front and rear of the Kingpin about a month ago and those came in with no delay. They are cerakoting the blocks in house for the most part. I think only the cold plate is not being done by Optimus and still be sent out from what I believe. That's why I've been not only posting my order number, but what my order is so that others can see and maybe others will share so we can see if there is some kind of pattern. Simply going by order number is not working out based on what we have seen. I really think that blocks will increase in release amounts over the next few weeks. I know when I got a response from them earlier that they were pressure testing my block and that if it passed it would be sent out. Mines must have passed since I was notified a day to two later that it had shipped if I remember correctly. Depending on their process and available manpower/space this also could be a limiting factor as well. I do think that for a release item, maybe instead of offering 3 color choices maybe they should have been all one color like a special edition cerakote instead. That way the only option would have been to have a Nickel or raw copper cold plate. Would have been easier for them to work on and send out in sequence if it is a color issue. Too many options can slow the send out especially if they are challenged with manpower or resources. While the wait was frustrating, I'm looking forward to going through the conversion process and finally getting to use my KP. I still stand behind the quality of their work, but communication/transparency is still something they can work on to be better.

Agree. I have their signature block and it's great. Functionally and engineering-wise I think they have some great products. But there are lessons to be learned in communication. (e.g. compatibility of the KPE block with MBs with large VRM heatsinks. I get the feeling the question has been ignored intentionally since they realize there may be clearance issues with some boards like the Dark series. I've seen the question many times from others (including myself), but have never seen a response). But with those that have better engineering sense than business sense (good engineers aren't always the best at business, myself included), sometimes the product excels but the business lacks.

Just for info, mine went out first batch, #5217. Matte Black/Nickel. Haven't mounted yet but it's nice to finally have it. For anyone waiting in the 52xx range, I'd keep the order. No one else is gonna make a block for this. That said, I 100% understand the frustration. It would be nice if Optimus were more transparent in their operations. As it stands, they are horrible at communication and their timelines are atrocious. Excuse after excuse. We'll see if they actually improve like they have claimed, but so far production doesn't seem steady, at least not for KPE blocks. That Nickel finish looks awesome. I love the Matte Black, but wouldn't mind a Nickel one. I have another on order that I doubt I'll see for a while; might go Nickel, if I don't cancel haha. There's only so long one can wait before it becomes unworth it.

I’m just mad I sold my hydrocopper kit I got from EVGA under the impression this was coming out “in a few weeks” and now the fact that this mounting mechanism seems rushed at best in everyone who has posted photos defense. If literally anyone else made a block I would cancel my order but here we are

Oof, totally get that. FWIW the HC EVGA block isn't that great on VRAM, but yeah a block would be nice to have. I feel an active waterblock backplate was unnecessary and complicated the whole process personally; imo they should have went with a regular XL backplate. Numbers are amazing but performance hasn't really increased much from what I've seen. The whole 'in a few weeks' thing was total BS. Optimus' track record shows that. Even now they are still lacking greatly on communication and service. The mounting mechanism was totally FUBAR on first release. I honestly don't know how they came up with that guide after mounting it themselves dozens of times, at least. Even their response to these issue has been subpar. I'm personally waiting a bit to see if any further instructions are updated. They also said they'd send out some extra screws/nuts for the I/O bracket, but haven't seen anything, nor an email telling me to not use the original instructions lol

I'm no engineer, but I agree the instructions at release were very interesting to say the least. I'm also not sure why they went with a two piece copper block instead of a single? Also, why the block didn't extend all the way to the PCI bracket either is a bit of a head scratcher too. I'm not sure on the active rear plate since I haven't used mines yet. I really like their passive plate, but could have been augmented with additional cooling fins to be added on to the block where needed. Almost like having an option of adding additional heat sinks to strategic locations on the backplate should the user wanted to add them or if they had the clearance they could if they chose to. I haven't looked at my instructions yet. I am keeping mines boxed until I have my tools and space to work on my Kingpin for now. When I get to that point I'll be sure to post some pictures too.

Optimus had issues with timelines, missing deadlines, and being truthful about what was in stock long before the pandemic. I doubt they will improve anything in the near future as long as people keep buying their products. What motivation do they have to improve if they sell everything they can produce? It also seem that their PC parts business is a side business for their main business making parts for other industries.

The benefit of producing the highest quality products... and the detriment to consumers. Given the quality of what they produce, could you imagine how big they'd blow up if they were able to resolve these issues and expand their production facilities?

So, I'm order #5300... and I got my order in within a couple of hours of the preorders going live... I'm wondering at this point if I should cancel or keep waiting... at the rate they seem to be going I'm willing to bet I'm going to be continuing to wait for the block until February.

I'm thinking the same. Especially with the holidays, their shop is most likely closed til after new years. Wish we knew what order they were at to get some idea.

Dang, yep I'm canceling. They have barely shipped any blocks than. At that rate 40 series will be out before they fulfill pre orders.

I think 5221 got his block. 5224 is my block and got nothing yet. I even think like you…
