I'm glad I cancelled mine, at the rate, and where my order is, it still looks like I would have still been 2+ months out o.O I cancelled mostly because checking daily was killing my mental and I had to stop it. I still want it o.O

I agree what has already been stated, but I can also understand the delays. I am sure that they (Optimus) is hedging their timeline to some degree, at least I would be if I were in their position. I have their Absolute block installed on my FTW3 and am impressed with the fit, finish, and also the performance, so I am expecting at least that on the KP block. For me, it comes down to how long I can wait, and I have no problem waiting the 6-8+ weeks as I know the performance will be worth it. Other things to consider that may impact delivery times is that all of the orders may not be being worked in parallel, so while I am sure there is some overlap in production, they may have to have runs of different blocks to meet other orders depending on their manufacturing throughput ability. I guess unless we know when they have completed shipping the pre-orders, we don't know when the follow-on orders will ship, when is the start of that 6-8 weeks? I am a bit of a Optimus fanboy, as the KP block will be 4th Optimus waterblock. I should own stock in the company. :-p -J

Maverickyao Don't overestimate the total number of KP cards and people who own these cards really do water cooling. A reasonable estimate would be 100 to 150 preorders.
If that's true, at their one order per day ship rate and only being open Monday through Friday, it could be 30 weeks before they ship out all of the preorders unless they start shipping more than a few orders per week. The thing that bothers me is based on what people are saying here and elsewhere about their orders, it seems that Optimus is shipping an average of one(or less) preorder per business day since they started shipping. Maybe there are many pre order customers who don't talk about their pre orders here, on various forums, on various discord channels and twitter and Optimus is shipping more than ~1 per business day. I really hope that's the case.

Bavor, I agree as it doesn't appear to be very many people getting their blocks. If there were a lot of people waiting and posting that they were getting their shipping notice that would be one thing, but with limited shipping notification posts its hard to gather where they are as far as units being sent out. I posted on Overclockers asking Optimus about this very issue when the posted about lots more going out but they never responded and until they do it's so hard to judge. One good thing even with the TI pending release is that because so much of what optimus does is custom it shouldn't affect availability too much as long as they can catch up and start sending out all the preorders. I know mines had QC issues that should have been caught if they really did a pressure check prior to being sent out and there was another person who had similar issues so if they aren't doing the pressure check they should just make sure the parts are in the box get it into the hands of the users. Even my Cerakote finish had drip marks on it. It's not too noticeable where they are, but it's nothing like the nickel finish that my FTW3 block has. One thing though is that my FTW3 white cerakote block does have a really good even finish so maybe I just got a bit unlucky.

I’m guessing optimus is shipping out 2 blocks a week. I just canceled my order. I ordered July 29th.

Sorry to hear that. I've been back and fourth when them on email and they're extremely dodgy about wait times. Basically ignored my questions and answered something else I asked only. I think they make a fantastic product by the looks of it and I so want to be excited about it, but this stuff is a huge turnoff.

I got a reply from Optimus on my pressure leak issue and they are working on sending me replacement pads for the ones that ripped when I needed to take apart the block to work on the leak. While I was replying to them thanking them for sending me the replacement pads I took the opportunity to "suggest" that they post order numbers they are working on so that users know when their orders are coming up for assembly/shipping. They make really nice blocks that perform well. My FTW3 block I'm really happy with and as soon as I can get my Kingpin into my loop then I'll be sure to see if the performance carries through that block line as well. From my conversion with the hybrid to the water block I still am impressed with the materials they use. While the wait for the release and shipping was longer than they shared I still recommend their products to others based on the results in performance I had with my FTW3 block, the materials they use, and ease of installation of their products. The two drawbacks I see with their products is the length of time it takes to get the products once you order and the price of the gpu blocks. Both are related to the size of the company and it being more like a custom fabrication type production which impacts both price and availability. I'm sure they could outsource some of the work to get more units out there quicker, but the draw of their products would be diminished with either lower quality materials and finished products which would directly impact performance/longevity. For those who are keeping their 3090 Kingpins, this really is a nice block to get your hybrid converted and into a custom loop. If you are building your loop and haven't bought your cpu block, theirs is also very good at a reasonable price point as well.

What I’m assuming, not that it matters. Optimus pc is a subsidiary of Automatic Swiss Corp. Automatic Swiss Corp are experiencing high volumes of product orders for their bread and butter products/custom orders. This ties up the CNC machines, thus putting Optimus on the back burner until machines are freed up. They probably haven’t machined a KP block in weeks.

I noticed before that the address of Optimus is a building that says Automatic Swiss on the front. Automatic Swiss has about $4.5 million in revenue per year. Optimus PC has about $500,000 in revenue per year. We know where their priority is and its not our PC parts.

If that’s the way you feel then cancel your order, and if you already have then why are you here?

Unfortunately, I'm stuck with Optimus block if I want an effective waterblock for a 3090 Kingpin. The EVGA block is awful to say the least. GPU temps 15-18C above water temps with the EVGA blocks are a disappointment. That's why I can't cancel my order. If there was any other option for a 3090 Kingpin water block, then I would have purchased it from another company.

Thanks for all the posts in this thread. Just got a kingpin. Almost made the mistake of paying for the hydrocarbon. Currently searching for someone to sell me their newly arrived optimus or one that’s days away. Willing to pay huge premium.

Pre-orders went live like 6 months ago. They are still working on pre-orders. The blocks started shipping out in early December after development delays. This is here in this thread. There is a lot of info here which you can skim through. If you are thinking about it, get in line as the sooner you get in line the faster you will get it. I'd read back as myself and couple of others have posted some things about the installation. If you are keeping your 3090 KP, then this is the block to get if your budget allows.

Nice, thanks for the info, 5 months, doesn't seem that bad! For context: I've been waiting for 8 months for the wheels for my car (labeled "in stock") to come in from Japan and I'll consider myself lucky to get them before June at this point.

It's been a long wait. For some too long and they cancelled their orders. But like I shared, if you are keeping your 3090 KP it's either this or the Hydro Copper. The choices are very slim. The cost for this block is pretty high, but the materials they use are excellent and the workmanship in the past has been really good. I haven't installed mines yet, only converted the block so I can't speak to performance yet for the KP but I have their block for the 3090 and it's been really good and I couldn't be happier. Just know that anything you buy don't expect it to be shipped out right away unless you are buying their blemish stock. The black block looks sick to be honest. I have the silver and it kinda looks more like an off white. The white pops really nice, but due to the textured cerakote finish it will be interesting to see if it stays clean and bright white. I ordered a white FTW3 block for my son's pc which I will be working on in the near future to convert his air cooled 3080 to the block and add it the loop I did for his PC. I really liked their nickel finish, but it's no longer available for the block.
