True that. And KPEs historically haven’t been eligible for step up anyways. But it’s a nice thought.

Anyone else notice that the block on the new 3090 Ti FTW3 Hydrocopper ( link) looks quite a bit like an Optimus block ( link)? That's a very good thing if it is an Optimus block - providing Optimus can keep up with demand.. and that's a big 'if'..

It's curious that there aren't any posted specs on the liquid cooled cards. I'd assume the hybrid and hc FTW3s would have the same boost clocks as the FTW3 Ultra. Any predictions on 3090 Ti KPE boost clock? It blows my mind that the FTW3 Ultra has the same boost clock as the 3090 KP with 2 more SMs. Really goes to show how binned these GA102s must be to even qualify to become a 3090 Ti.

I noticed that too. Performance wise, great news. Support wise and schedule, terrible news. I had the Optimus KPE block and had to return it because of sealing issues. So if it was Optimus I'd have some concerns.

2 of those new 12-pin connector thingamabobs. So 6x8pin PCIe?
EVGA is advertising the PerfFE cables single 12 pin cable to 2 8 pins for EVGA PSUs as compatible with the FTW3 so I'm assuming 2 of those would be fine for the kingpin? Saves 2 8 pins cables at least.

What a beast. Really like the redesign of the backplates on the GPUs this time around. Of course a much needed redesign.

talon951 It's difficult to believe they would make a card like this with no water block options. Seems pointless. An air cooled version is likely not any faster than my water cooled 3090. Very very little anyway.
It's tough to say. Their HC release has always lagged a bit, especially so with 3090 and the whole supply shortage. So even if 3090 Ti is announced for actual sale this month [(X) doubt], it'll be a few months until HC blocks come out. And then we're that much closer to 40-series. And no other major waterblock manufacturer is even making blocks for KP cards anymore, so not like anyone will be pushing development. All we had for 3090 KP was EGVA official and Optimus, and Optimus has had it's issues with its 30 series KP blocks. I bet they're fully aware that people want blocks for these cards, but don't know how it works out on the books for them. I'd be happy if EVGA partner with some mainstream waterblock manufacturer and get blocks out that way. (No idea who's making the current blocks)
I've love to see EVGA partner with EKWB or another larger mainstream water cooling parts manufacturer instead of whoever makes their current blocks. My MSI 3090 with the EKWB block and active backplate cooling only runs a few degrees warmer under load with the same power limit as my Kingpin 3090 with the Optimus block. Asus and Power Color partner with EKWB already for water cooled GPUs. I got the impression form EKWB that theyd on't make Kingpinw ater blocks because of the low demand for them. However if theyw ere the OEM for EVGA, that could change.
Did EKWB make the earlier HC blocks? Or has it always been some third-party?
EVGA has had a couple of partners to my knowledge that used to make their GPU blocks. Back in the GTX 700 series, my pair of GTX 780 Classified HCs in SLI all had Swiftech Water Blocks. A few generations back it was than EK. I think they did one or two generation run with them before that ended. At his moment, EVGA has stated that they make their HCs in house. Not a fan of their HCs at all. My 2080 Ti HC I've had for less than 2 years was slow leaking from a small fracture near the ports. Wish they can go back to a reputed custom WC company like they did in the past and get their blocks that way.

It looks like they may have changed course a bit with their waterblocks for 3090 Ti. At least from the Ti FTW3 HC, the block is completely different from 20-series or the 3090 HC. Looks more like an Optimus block. But I would think it'd be near impossible for Optimus to partner with EVGA and actually deliver enough blocks to make a more consumer friendly product. Likely whoever designed the 3090 Ti took design and flow cues from the Optimus block.

Let's hope that means they will actually produce a decent number of them unlike the 3090 HC.

I don't know but I would not hold my breath , I Signed up for a TI KPE but I have a block for my current KPE so when My conversion is complete it will make the this choice obsolete if there are no blocks available. Optimus waited 9 months before announcing the KPE block , as slow as its been I wonder if they will even try on a card which will likely have a fraction of the numbers of the KPE Ti - considering that most are going to hold out for a 40 series option.

Other than boost clocks, what's the difference between the 3090 Ti FTW3 Black and the 3090 Ti FTW3 Ultra? The product images and descriptions are exactly the same for both cards.

If Optimus did make the blocks for the 3090 ti Hydro Copper, the cards would take 7 months for delivery after you ordered them.

Probably a slight increase in OC headroom would be my guess. The slightly better chip will be on the ULTRA.

Guys - so does the EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3090 Ti not require a 16-pin cable/adapter? I'm a little confused here. Thought all 3090 Ti needed the 16-pin. So I can potentially use the 12-pin cable I have for my "regular" 3090 on the 3090 Ti?

It requires a single 12-pin at the minimum. Yes, you can use the cable that came with your fe card.

I’m guessing same day as oc invitational... https://forums.evga.com/I...-m3539677.aspx#3539700
So April 8th.
I didn't even think of that! Didn't the last launch coincide with an OC event with Jay and Steve? I wasn't able to get into the first KP queue due to issues with the site and just remember being super jealous.

They're just doing CPU overclocking at that invitational, so may not be a KP event as well. Vince will be on the stream, so maybe he'll have some things to say. He's a little more free with things than Jacob.
