I'm going to enjoy it for a long time to come. Thanks again. And I'll post pics tonight or tomorrow of the blocks installed.

are there any plans afoot to merge the CPU1 block with the (moset) block to the north of it.

I saw the cad designs for it but would love to see more on it. Specifically the bottom of the block and how it will work two copper bottoms? or the danger-den block with some mods into the mosfet blocks?

I just got my order in Nate; all I can say is that it brings a tear to my eyes. The CPU blocks and SR-2 block look gorgeous. I also appreciate the extreme attention to detail on packaging so that everything arrives intact.

Unfortunately I haven't ordered anything else yet for WC :(. It's going to be a few weeks before I can install it. Can't wait though!

Never forget our POW/MIA/KIA. Semper Fi.

Tormach does CNC milling machines and parts. My guess is parts for his newest machining venture.

As stated by nate when I said I had my blocks, pics or it never happened

plans are afoot!! you will have to wait till a bit of testing is finished before the design goes public. the fluid dynamics simulation is recomending a tweek.

Here's a semi finished build featuring nate's blocks.

Still need to finish the build and leak test. Then I've got some cleaning to do, the wife doesn't really appriciate computer parts strewn all over the kitchen table. But I'm sure alot of us know how that goes .

Wow, the black finish really does match the HK block. You could have sent me the HK block to blast it too.

BETTER YET...
replace the stainless steel brackets with brushed copper.
then they completely match.

My GPU's have heat killer blocks as well. You up for making some tops for them as well for a complete matching set?

We may heve to do something like that in the future.

If they are the same black plastic I could just bead blast and polish them?  that would take less then a day to do.

The GPU's have full copper blocks and would need a whole new top half made. The only thing that would worry me about the brushed copper brackets for the CPU blocks would be how they would hold up to the pressure springs when installed. Although they would look sweet.

It wouldn't stand up nearly as well as the stainless steel.  Plus I am not even sure how they are secured into the block.  I remember staring at them the other day wondering how they were installed.  Snapped in perhaps?  I would just leave well enough alone.

Take a picture of the copper Video blocks if you want.  I would rather make an upgrade to copper SR2 top rather then "downgrade" video card blocks to plastic you know?

I know what you mean on the tops.

The brackets are actually held in by little pins about the size of a needle bearing in a u-joint for a truck. Funny story actually. I split the block because I traded the AMD mounts for a set of 1366 mounts. When I split the blocks I didn't realize the pins were in there and lost one. I just happened to have a u-joint missing a cap in my tool box so I took one of the needle bearing out and cut it down to size. It works perfectly.

Yeah there is, but the whole "not being able to overclock significantly because of locked multipliers" is a bit of a killjoy. Maybe I'm just being a Debby downer though.

Hopefully Intel will release Xeons with unlocked Multipliers.

So it is now listed as notify me. And really I'm surprised by the price. I figured over $700 honestly.

I wonder what the overall size of the heatsink is.  That will depend on 2 blocks, vs 3.

I say do it up as 3 blocks ... I believe it will be faster and cheaper to make it as that solution vrs trying to sneak around the CPU1's lower ram slots and turn back around to catch where it needs to cool

What dictates the cost of my projects is the material selection.  Copper comes in nice round numbers like 4x12, 6x6, 6x12, 12x12 etc by various thicknesses.  I am able to get the current SR2 blocks out of a single 12x12 sheet.  If I can do the same with this, then the price for each will be similar.
Also the ease of the project is taken into account.  If its not that hard to get 2 blocks as opposed to 3, then the sky is the limit.  Until I have one in my hand... all I can do is daydream.
