nateman_doo Now this is hypothetical... and I really am talking hypothetical.... I think if it was plated... it would probably look something like this: That is the block that I plated for a customer of SidewinderComputers last year, nothing "hypothetical" about it. In fact that was you're first attempt with a o-ring, instead of that gasket making material you had been using. That is even the same paper that I wrapped it in. The block would have looked much better and have a better coating, if you wouldn't rough up the water channels so much. It serves no purpose and is unnecessary. I can replicate that RRTech Chrome Plating job for anyone who wants their block chrome plated. If anyone would like their block chrome plated, including future blocks you make Nateman_doo, feel free to PM me for details. Oh, where is the top that I buffed to a near mirror finish and chromed as well?

IMHO they were. It was very expensive to plate them, due to having to buff each main piece for over an hour. Very unnecessary to do whatever nateman_doo did to that copper. The finish I received them in was not very good, IMHO.

he didnt call your plating hypothetical. he said that if he were to provide plating it would hypothetically look like your job, lol (which looks very nice btw)

Gratuitous he didnt call your plating hypothetical. he said that if he were to provide plating it would hypothetically look like your job, lol (which looks very nice btw) I didn't say it would look like his, just that it would look like that. I won't play up, or down my skills. I know what I am capable with some experience. Just don't have any experience plating. Red_Raider Cool, but kindly refrain from calling my chrome plating "hypothetical", as there is/was nothing "hypothetical" about it. To begin, I had no idea who did it the plating job. Gary said he was having it done by "his guy". I asked him what he needed me to do to help that and he didn't elaborate, so I gave it the most uniform finish I could with the bead blast. Thought I was making it easier for you. My apologies (the stock copper was much worst). You, myself, gary and his customer where the only people on the planet who knew that block was plated. As far as anyone here knew, my block had never been chrome plated. That being said, a few people have asked about it. I told them I do not plate the blocks. Then I said that "hypothetically speaking" if it was chrome plated it would look like this: -insert the pic-. Since it wasn't a CAD picture but a real picture it was sort of implied that the job had been done. I was hoping members could deduce that reading the quotes around the word hypothetical. I was clearly joking about hypothetical. But I guess it wasn't clear enough. Now kindly refrain from calling my finish not good..."I YHO". There is no room for trolling here.

It's not trolling when it's true. A first year Mechanical Engineering student could see that. Sure you could turn this project in for a B+ in the class for learning to use the machines but your teacher would laugh at you if you went to them to get a job making retail or commercial machine parts. And tell you to use a buffing wheel or next time to slow feed rates if initial cuts were that bad. Got any pre-blast pictures?

Some very kind, guy does amazing work, then some **** comes in, dissing him, and saying he doesn't know what he is doing. If it's so easy, I'm sure you could make them then?

Well to get back on topic. Are there any special instructions or anything for mounting your blocks? or is it a straight forward remove the original and replace with the your awesome piece of work.

Just remove the old one and put those screws aside, and put them back into the factory heatsink and store it for warrenty issues. Id salvage the thermal pad and the factory plate. I gave u longer scres for the area's by the vregs's to fit the factory back plate.
