Is it better to have a slightly better chance but sit outside for hours, or to have a worse chance, but be able to hand at home hitting F5? <shrug>

According to the Discord server I'm on, they're suppose to release the 3070 Ti and a regular drop of other cards later in the day. We'll see how this plays out

I was able to purchase a evga 3080 xc3 ultra from Best Buy through the fixitfixitfixit YouTube and Discord alerts this morning (now yesterday morning) for my bro-in-law. My co-worker was able to buy a evga 3080 xc3 ultra also, and a evga 3070 xc3 ultra through Best Buy yesterday morning too. He is luckier than me... he also got a evga 3060ti and a evga 3070 xc3 ultra last month. He isn't scalping... all purchased for family and friends at msrp. He's the one that told me about the the fixitfixitfixit YouTube and Discord alerts.
This is a potentially very helpful resource. Thanks much. Though I feel like I may be watching this stream for the next 6 months.

yeah sometimes they will add inventory and it'll be like 2 or 3 cards. crazy how slowly production is seemingly going

I've tried to get Best Buy drops and AMD.com drops since they started happening, but it honestly is impossible to compete with the bots. I saw StellarAIO claiming on twitter that they got 95% of one AMD.com drop and 50% of BestBuy, all of which def went to scalpers.

Still not get any card till now. Maybe 3080ti queue get the best bets.
They are getting plenty. The problem is there is a bot that bypasses the "please wait" queue now. Regular people have almost no chance.
There's such bot? I thought the wait is from server side.
Surely there is a delay between when the system is notified of stock available and when the post or queue actually *publicly* starts, there lies the opportunity to get into the queue before real people can. This is why countries and continents lay down their own cables closer to the NYSE so they get information milliseconds before anyone else. Because milliseconds are enough of an advantage to keep normal people out of the loop long enough for big players to make all the money.
Did you read this in a book? Because I read this in a book as well about stock trading. It was so long ago, though, that I forgot the title of the book.
