I managed to get a 3070 @best buy in person, but I didn't get any discord server notification alerts. They seem to be changing to pick up in person afaik. There was 5 3070s in stock @Robson & Granville here in BC. I was 20 min away and I managed to get the last one so they go fast. The next day people heard wind of it and started camping at some locations that had stock but they were already sold out for the most part. Probably sold to friends/employees picked them up as there are many same day scalpers posting. I believe Best buy has stopped some stock sites from listing their availability as well.
 
I've heard some success stories recently from people who follow some twitch streams that list/refresh available stock and then being fast on CC. 

I could only add it to my cart but then cant find a pick up location within 250 miles

If I can't get a gpu I'll probably end up getting a laptop

The emotional roller  coaster and close calls are too much for me to endorse their approach. It is admittedly depressing once the "add to cart" option is a lie.  You figure a bunch of engineers could come up with a better system. A heavily vetted backorder system would my preference. 

They should take peoples driver license or some kinda ID each time someone buys from them so it limits people. 

does anyone have information on whether or not best buy is holding cards 
for the launch date of the 70/80tis? Or will they drop this week?

I'm starting to straight up, loose hope in best buy. Out here in NY I swear it's getting damn near impossible to even get a card in your cart. It's really aggravating waiting 2 weeks just for another L.

idk about all that chief. Seems like more cards are getting to people through best buy than evga's queue. Best buy has done a decent job at bot protection. Some bots have claimed they will have modules for BB in the future though and that scares me.

They most definitely already have them, bot developers keep them up to date to not lose clientele.

I was able to purchase a evga 3080 xc3 ultra from Best Buy through the fixitfixitfixit YouTube and Discord alerts this morning (now yesterday morning) for my bro-in-law.  My co-worker was able to buy a evga 3080 xc3 ultra also, and a evga 3070 xc3 ultra through Best Buy yesterday morning too.   He is luckier than me... he also got a evga 3060ti and a evga 3070 xc3 ultra last month.  He isn't scalping... all purchased for family and friends at msrp.   He's the one that told me about the the fixitfixitfixit YouTube and Discord alerts.

Just heard of this as well... seems very promising, active discord, many drop alerts. I'll be keeping an eye out. I'm hankering. The 3080 Ti will be my last real attempt; after that, patience until the disaster recovers.

I agree. Felt like the Best Buy drop went out of stock sooner than usual this morning.

It's actually insane. On the last drop, I had the page pulled up, didn't refresh, waited for the "Add to cart" button to turn yellow like the instructions said, clicked on the button as soon as it turned yellow, and still could not add the item to my cart. That happened like 5 times before drop was over. Anyone know what I was doing wrong?

Heard from a BestBuy employee in Toronto that the recent drops for cards in Canada have been as low as 1 or 2 cards : /
