Any 3090 kingpin owners out there that can give me some info on how to control the LCD screen? I have the latest version of Precision x1. On 1st boot up it did the firmware update the LCD screen was on and switched to Firmware Update on the display. Updated the drivers. Asked to reboot and did so. Firmware update would not turn off the screen during the entire time even though it had finished. After another reboot 15 min later it went blank and nothing came up again. Ran a OC scan on the card everything working perfect. Can't find any controls for the screen in PX1. Any insight would be appreciated.

I heard the latest firmware has issues so maybe that is contributing to your problem. Version 1.1.3's change log says "Remove KINGPIN animation upload" which means they removed the ability for users to upload custom animations. It's possible that it somehow broke the OLED feature. I am using PX 1.1.2 which does not do that and has a different firmware. I'm not sure how you can remove the firmware update and downgrade to stock but if you figure that out then try again with 1.1.2 instead. The OLED is controlled from PX1. This is how it's supposed to look:

I cycle through all of them and don't have that. I have fan control, temp tuner, fan curve, vf curve tuner and advanced settings. Perhaps the new 1.1.4 doesn't have this feature? The firmware update doesn't have the feature either?

Would be odd for them to cut a feature that they advertised but who knows... try with 1.1.2 and report back. The OLED does work though. This is mine: https://streamable.com/ige0mr

Yes but I'm not sure if it will do that now since you installed a newer firmware from the newest PX1 version. You probably need a way to downgrade firmware to stock card and then upgrade to the firmware provided by the 1.1.2 version. Try asking EVGA staff on here for help.

RMA'd. No fix for it at this time. Anyone else do the firmware update and get the same issue? They said another person reported the same problem yesterday on PX1 1.1.2 Did your firmmare update appear on the lcd screen? did it change after it was done the update on your monitor or did it hang on the LCD?

Yes, the firmware update appeared on the OLED screen. It changed after it was done. I have an older picture I took from when I first installed the card and did the firmware update:

Had the same thing on my lcd it just never went away after the firmware update was done. How long did it stay on your lcd? On your monitor after the firmware update was done did it turn off on the lcd after hitting complete? Do you have access to the lcd in PX1? I dont see anything regarding the lcd in PX1. Regarding the RMA EVGA shipped a new one out today. Thanks for being so fast in the RMA dept! Appreciate it!

So has anyone done the firmware update and NOT have the LCD screen die? Hopefully 1.1.5 will correct things with no need to RMA the card. I'm hopeful my KP will ship next week as I'm 1:54 minutes away in the queue, and I'd hate to run into this issue.

I RMA'd and should be here Monday. What the hell do I do when I plug in the new card and it tells me to do the firmware update again? seriously! Do I uninstall PX1 all together to make sure I don't update the firmware? Anyone see the OLED options screen in PX1? I didn't have that screen even there.

I didn’t have the options either once the firmware updated. I’m hoping they figure it out so I don’t have to wait for another one to ship?

They told me they were emailing taiwan to see if theres a fix or not. They'd here back by monday or Tuesday and let me know. I just rma'd it because I also noticed the power drop and kill my fps during a game. Only way to fix it was reboot. Something isn't right with that firmware update. I don't recall the choice it gives you when px1 detects your new card for the 1st time. If there's an option to no do the firmware I wont be. I think I'll uninstall px1 and use afterburner instead. This is so ridiculous. How is this not tested well in advance?

Here is my response from support. “ YOUR ANSWER
Hello,
Based on this behavior it sounds like the flash failed and now the card would need to be replaced. You can try and test the cards on another system and see if it will let you flash it there. If the results are the same, the card would need to be replaced. Please let us know the results of your testing in order to support you further. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns in order to support you further.
Regards, EVGA”
So there is no way to force another update on px1. I’m going to try to put it in another system to see if I can run the software again. You think it will work if I wipe my current system and try again?

Is EVGA support aware this is not an isolated case? I guess the safe path is to use Afterburner only until this mess is sorted out?

I don’t know. Should I just go through the rma process. Just worried it will do it again.

When I called first thing Friday morning there was one other case the day before. There's now more reporting in the thread so this is a bigger issue apparently. Is it the new firmware in 1.1.4? It's also happened to someone with 1.1.2. so I don't know what I should do with the new card when it arrives. I'm leaning towards not allowing the update and keep using px1 1.1 4.

Might make sense to just RMA it but with the holidays in a few days might get delayed till they reopen in the new year. I'm still expecting a call if they get any info on a possible fix from Taiwan.

Just curious. Did you have another Evga card installed before the kingpin? Do we know if there is a way do downgrade to the original bios?

It's possible. Px1 didn't update the banner to kingpin hybrid till the reboot and the screen went blank after that reboot.
