Then the other torture begins that I have the block but no KP gpu. But hey, atleast I'm in the 50s now. Even if it's only temporary, I can say that I got into the 50s.

You are going to like that board. I used one for a build and liked it so much I went hunting to get one too. It's an awesome board, the performance out of it is really good. I like the open loop features in the lower right side of the board, the vrms are excellent, the display and secondary power switch are easily accessible. The good things about that board go on and on. Really good value for what you get.

If she ever finds out how much I spent on my pc its going to cost me even more. I had hoped she would stop at the LV bags I've bought her but now she is watching more and more youtube videos on Hermes bags. Those damn things cost more than some cars and I'm not even going to go into the renovations she wants to do to the house...it just never ends.

Nice, a very meta board right now for good reason. I bought mine for the fan less chipset, etc. and didn‘t even know about it’s best feature which is the dynamic oc switcher.

Thanks, both of you. Yeah, I'm sure I'll enjoy the board once I get a 59xxx cpu for it. Outside of Microcenter, they're about as difficult to get your hands on from an authorized reseller as a lot of other things. Closest Microcenter to me is 300 miles away, so I'll just have to bide my time there.

I actually liked the "cheater" plug that asus provides for the necessary connections to your power panel on the case. It was so easy to actually put the wires in the correct pins using the plug provided and then once you have all the plugs on then to just plug that whole thing into the socket. It even has what wires needed to be connected to it printed on the side. The funny story was that I actually misplaced mines when I bought it. I was so happy when I was able to purchase one I opened it up before I was ready to build. Then when I started to do my rebuild I couldn't find the darn plug so I had to just plug those leads directly to the mobo. I ended up finding it a few weeks later though. I wish all the boards would come with that plug.

I already checked my email and notify already. Since Fayalite share he passed yesterday on the block I figured I'd keep checking today hoping that there was no one between him and I on the notify. Would be my luck there are a few between us, but who knows. With my luck there's more than few people in front of me still. Keep registering for that darn shuffle and the only thing other thing that is consistent with my entries is the number of "sorry your weren't selected" emails that I get later in the day. I guess I used up all my luck being where I am today in life.

I actually liked the "cheater" plug that asus provides for the necessary connections to your power panel on the case. It was so easy to actually put the wires in the correct pins using the plug provided and then once you have all the plugs on then to just plug that whole thing into the socket. It even has what wires needed to be connected to it printed on the side. The funny story was that I actually misplaced mines when I bought it. I was so happy when I was able to purchase one I opened it up before I was ready to build. Then when I started to do my rebuild I couldn't find the darn plug so I had to just plug those leads directly to the mobo. I ended up finding it a few weeks later though. I wish all the boards would come with that plug.
I just checked the ASUS User Guide for the board and I think you're referring to the eps cables that come with just about all power supplies. Not sure what you mean by a "cheater" plug, but those eps pwr connections are used to provide additional +12VDC power to the motherboard above and beyond what the 24 pin connection provides. Anyway, no notify here today and I suspect yesterday's notify was what I coined it. EVGA will be swamped next week with their new releases and it wouldn't surprise me if we don't see any new notifies for the KPE HC block kit for at least a few weeks. Mind you, I could end up being wrong, but we'll see.

iamjanco, The plug I'm talking about is the one that connects to the power button, reset, led indicator, etc that comes from your case to the mobo. This board has a plug that you actually attach those cables to and then as a unit you plug that into the mobo. It's not a big deal, but it does make it easier to put those cables in when you are trying to put those plugs into specific pins. When you get your board, you'll see what I'm talking about. It's one of those pet peeves that you have to read each board and their pin assignment and then make sure you connect the plugs from the what Asus calls the system panel header/Asus Q connector. Once you use one of those for your builds, you'll wonder why more companies don't use it. If you look on the instructions, it's on pages 1-25 and 2-11. I call it a cheater plug because it makes installing those small pin connectors so easy. Once you use one of these you'll appreciate the thought Asus did in adding to the board. On another note, I still have not gotten any notify about my Kingpin Water block. But I did get in my new Optimus Water block for my GPU today. Damn it's impressive.

ah, I see, what Asus calls their "Q-Connector," a labeled adapter for the board's front panel header. makes sense. my bad then, didn't even think about the front case panel connections. sorry about that.

No worries bro, but once you use it when you build it will make you wonder why more companies don't use it. I hate having to fiddle with the connectors in that tight area and then trying to make sure you got the plugs on the right pin. When you get older, your fingers are fatter and eyesight not as good so it's more of a pain in the rear doing it. With that connect, you can do everything in your own space with lighting so it was just much easier for me when I built the first one. But when I couldn't find mines I was pissed off at myself for not keeping track of it. I actually thought I lost it when I was admiring the board when I was able to buy it. I end up finding it, but mines is already directly connected to the mobo.
I'm sure you will like the board when you get it. To me it was money well spent.

The Dark Hero, 59050, and the Kingpin are a great foundation for a build. Now you just gotta make sure your RAM is solid and a good psu to provide enough juice and you're set. I just write it off as the price of doing business/getting work done given the current market. I'm also not all too concerned about warranty at this point, just that the chip works and isn't a complete dud. PSU wise I already have a half dozen fairly new models here, five of which are T2s, and one Platinum Seasonic 1300W model. My top two go-to's are T2 1600W each, EVGA and a Superflower Leadex (they're more or less the same). The EVGA unit is installed in the bench, and I'm using a Seasonic T2 800W unit in my dual MORA420 rack:  Anyway, yes, tomorrow could be telling as far as price of the 3080ti goes. I don't need one myself, but I imagine if it's reasonable there won't be a lot of screaming in the forum. How the signups go, now that's a whole 'nuther thing.

I have a few builds for friends that want pcs. I don't charge them anything over what I pay or my time. Building pcs is my hobby even though I could've made some money doing it, but it would take away the enjoyment from it because I really don't have much spare time. The price you paid was fair, and atleast you should have warranty support should anything go wrong with it. People buying on Ebay are taking a huge risk on their purchases which I would rather not do. After I saw the price you paid, I was tempted to purchase the 5950 as well off amazon, but with my pending Kingpin and other things going on I think I'll just sit back and wait a bit longer before I consider another upgrade at this point. I'm just gaming so my CPU is more than enough for me at 1440. Enjoy your build and parts.

If it helps, it's just a hobby for me as well, as I'm a retiree with an engineering background. I chase obscure stuff like PSU performance even if my setup looks a bit exorbitant/eccentric. I'm not after breaking records and leave such things to the younger at heart.
