Thanks for creating this thread dedicated to the KPE HC block only. I have a long way to go, but hey, it's been like this

You might be better off to be honest at this point. If the Optimus block comes out around the time your name is called I would go for that one instead. Either way, if we get the hybrid card we are going to have to take it apart to mount the card, and then keep all the parts in case of an RMA. The only real benefit of getting the Hydro Copper card was that if there was a RMA, you could just send in the whole thing without taking it apart and keeping the original parts to be mounted again. I too had a rough start of the day. I got the through the entering of info fast, I didn't even get an error message either. But I didn't get the email nor did I get it listed on my notifies. Oh well, back to standing in line again. I'm thinking I'm going to be crossing my fingers and water blocking my 3090 when my Optimus block gets in.

Yeah well I have the KPE hybrid and I want the block not only because of water cooling advantage but also the fact that the pump on this card seems to fail after some months. I don’t want to RMA the card and get a refurbish KPE. I wish they could just supply the pump and not the whole card. And yes, I was thinking exactly what you mentioned, but I don’t think the Optimus block will come out any time soon.

It will be a few months at the least and then a 4-8 week wait if lucky for the block to be made. But the block is good from what I have been seeing and even in the 3090 it seems to have less failures which is something I've been looking at when comparing that to the other water blocks. Could also be due to smaller number of users, but the fit and finish of that block is pretty impressive. With KP stuff being so slow for release, it will be some time before it happens. Knowing my luck will be that the timing for my queues will come out similar. I'm still waiting for the card, atleast 3-4 months more and then the block because of the release of the hydro copper card will probably be reduced as well to a trickle so it may take as long for that for my name to get called. Look on the bright side, atleast we aren't in Enewt's shoes having to track all this and basically watching everyone else get their cards as they pass by. Gotta have much respect for the guy especially after today. Anyone who's been a part of this forum and threads knows how much he wanted that one card and for him to not get it just doesn't seem right. But the most respectful part of it is that he holds to his values and keeps level headed. Way better than how I would have handled it today.

And if you're curious about how the block performs I have information on temperatures in my thread on this page: https://forums.evga.com/3090-Kingpin-amp-others-Get-that-backside-VRAM-cool-m3219773-p25.aspx - and there's also some results here: https://forums.evga.com/RTX-3090-Kingpin-Hydrocopper-Waterblock-Cooling-Performance-m3280660.aspx For anyone considering getting one, if you CAN wait for the Optimus block, you may want to consider the results there. I'm perfectly happy with it because I already spent too much on backplate side cooling and even if the Optimus is 2-5C cooler or whatever, it's not going to be any difference for me. But the person that did the comparison in the other thread has more experience with blocks than I and said it's a "meh" in terms of performance. One thing I highly recommend is getting 2mm 12+W/mK thermal pads to replace the stock ones, I have those on both sides of the card on the VRAM and my iCX & memory junction temps are noice.

Yeah, you did some excellent work working things out and sharing your results. Thanks for that! Like you, I've got no problem tinkering with stuff and if push comes to shove, I might just jury rig better cooling for the front as well. Who knows how long the wait will be until the next round of Hydro Copper blocks (I'm still 22 away from getting one) and/or the Optimus version. I do have a fairly decent cooling setup to do so either way though (you may have noticed it earlier):

Is there anything in there to drop temps below ambient?

I thought about picking up a chiller, but I live in the Adirondacks and it stays cool/cold much of the year. Moving that dual Mora 420 setup in front of the window would pretty much provide much of the same effect when it's colder. That window is currently blocked off now and I don't really have a need for it the moment. I typically keep the room 68°F (20°F) otherwise.

The funny part about that setup is it barely has more fans than I do if it even does... I see 19 That's a crazy one though, I like it

That's pretty nice for this time of year, it's 87 here. And you wont need to worry about condensation. I'm curious about your tubing. That type would keep temperature in, or out, opposed to other cheaper tubing. Since you won't ever be below ambient while using the system, wouldn't you want heat to leak out anywhere possible?

Thanks; only 18 of the fans pictured above are used for water cooling (those mounted to the rads in push). I've got additional rads and fans that could be added, but there's no real need for them in the pictured use case. I'd almost bet you know more about water cooling than that though Clovis559

:::: chuckle :::: It does. The other side of the pictured rads. I've also got various dimastech flexfan brackets which I can place where needed on the test bench to direct warm/hot air away from areas that aren't necessarily cooled by one of the two loops.

Loving that cooling setup you got dude! I've got close to that in my main rig. Mora 420 Pro, x2 420mm HWL GTS, 240mm EKWB SE, 120mm EKWB SE. During winter here in Utah, I could definitely move the Mora in front of the window and get temps I'd start worrying about condensation lol.

I counted the CPU tower fan :-D And yeah I can imagine on the MORAs Push/Pull wouldn't do much of anything with how much brute heat dissipation there already is in that loop's setup. And I'm still learning/relearning liquid cooling stuff, I haven't run anything but AIOs in years, this build is my first fully custom liquid loop in well over a decade... back when I last had an open loop, I had a DangerDen block & some random-arse 360mm radiator with an old school Liang D5 pump that had the plastic red flat-head screw-driver adjustable pump speed knob.

Do you already have the card? With a notify that late you'll be better off trying to land a different block maker's block - they may never get to however far down the list your queue spot is. Not trying to discourage you, just providing information. It's very likely the Kingpin HC block as a separate thing will be pretty limited in run - a lot of the people in the queue will not get one, I don't think.

That would be a real shame, but I'm aware of the possibility. At best, Optimus will probably be the only other block worth considering for the card, and there are no absolutes they will actually make one, at least not in a timely fashion. If push comes to shove, depending on the use case, another possibility might be to just put the card up on ebay and purchase an A6000 with the proceeds. Yes, there currently aren't any water blocks for that card, and its target markets do not include gamers, but it appears to be a virtual powerhouse with respect to media creation/number crunching. That said, that may sound like heresy to some, but like others have implied about the overall situation regarding hardware these days, it's a situation many are trying their best to deal with. Just being honest, mind you.
While you can beat a dead horse as much as you like, you might have a tough time arguing with one.

Yes I got the card at 12/25/2020. I hope I can get evga block or the optimus if they make one. I always wanted to use this card with custom cooling. If I cant get a block I will end up selling my kingpin. We will see
