Will there be a new high-performance EVGA closed loop cpu cooler (CLC) released around the same time as the z690 kingpin for the LGA1700 socket (that would fit in a DG-8 case for example)?

It's my understanding they will have LGA1700 brackets for their existing CLCs.  Likely no new designs for the CLC.

If you're going for the Dark, save a few bucks and go with the Apex.  Extreme is overkill and Apex supposedly has better OC abilities.

I had gotten an Asus Z690 hero from Newegg in a ddr5 bundle with some ddr5 6000 cl36. Ended up getting Newegg to take the hero back due to reversed cap problem and I picked up the APEX. I originally wanted the kingpin but I think the Apex is the next best.

last time i built a system i promised my next MOBO would be an EVGA. JUST 2day; after deciding to build z690 2+ weeks ago; i discovered this thread. SWEET!

Again EVGA has solved my probs. TY EVGA! (my old fav brand MOBO can't cut it anymore in the way of their unofficial forum is too lacky these days. They were great for a while,  but EVGA all the way now... MOBO/Vid Card/ PSU and eventually all the rest for me will be EVGA!!!)

Re: Introducing the EVGA Z690 Motherboards - The Ultimate Choice for PC Gaming 2021/12/31 12:42:26 (permalink)
Was wanting to wait for these boards to come out to make an informed purchase decision before pulling the trigger on any board. I'm mulling over the APEX and Aorus Master, I'm leaning APEX except for the oddities some people have reported with getting memory to run at XMP on that board where other boards have no problem, which I'd say is odd for users to be having that experience with a high end ASUS board. If I've misread / misunderstood this scenario with the APEX please correct me.

Also in regards to the release timeline slippage on the EVGA boards I'm left scratching my head. Initially EVGA was saying possibly later November though most likely December, that to me provided confidence that EVGA would be to market in December. Now it's January or February. If the delay is to work on the BIOS issues that came to light as EVGA got the opportunity to work with more hardware then cool, if the delay is something else I'm left scratching my head at what that could be given the level of perceived confidence that was given towards a December launch.

Also curious on others opinion around what they feel the equivalent spec of DDR4 3600 CL16 RAM will be for DDR5, I've been trying to figure this out and have some thoughts though curious what other's thoughts are.

Thats exactly right......if your looking for a Mobo to hold you over until your Evga Dark is available get the Apex vs Extreme.....btw once using it you may just stick with it ;)
By the time Vince starts lining his pockets with your money we will be thinking Z790 :)

Well, pulled the trigger on an APEX. G.SKILL 5600 DDR5 (36-36-36-76) was on sale for $420 CAD on Newegg and managed to snag it. Building with intent to upgrade the memory once DDR5 matures and the CPU once raptor lake is released.

Apologies, I should have also provided the link, this is where I snagged the memory G.SKILL 5600 DDR5 (36-36-36-76) for $420 CAD:
https: //www.newegg.ca /
g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr5-sdram/p/N82E16820374305?Item=N82E16820374305

Hope between the link above and the link from badboy64 can help others get DDR5 at more reasonable prices.

Apologies not certain how to paste a link so you'll have to fix the link supplied above.

You can't yet (at time of writing this anyway). I would suggest following @TEAMEVGA and @EVGA_JacobF on twitter and setting up notifications. They will post that it's available in the web-shop. You'll want to follow that link or come to the site ASAP as soon as that happens. It will say "out of stock" immediately, but you'll be looking for a "notify me" or "auto-notify" button right below that. Click that.

Generally how this has worked is they have some quantity ready when they make that page live. The first few people who hit that notify button will get an email with an link inviting them to purchase a couple/few hours after they clicked the button.

Good luck!

Starting to wonder if either of these boards will be ever be released, lol - figured the Z690 Classy would be out by now for sure, but nope. The KP Dark.. who knows? Maybe a month or two? The 12900k was released beginning of November 2021.

No...all variants will have E Cores in addition to P Cores except Core I5, which in the thread I provided show 6 P Cores
No plans this Gen for 16 P Cores, however 12900K / KF with 8P + 8E and P Cores supporting HT, = 24 Cores total

Wouldnt expect big changes with Raptor Lake, but 2023 Meteor Lake on 7nm could bring some bigger changes such as more P Cores

Have to agree with him...the big yellow caps ...why?!
Overall I like the looks of it...still unsure why dual QCode's...perhaps in BIOS one of em can be set up to indicate CPU or Chipset temp, while the other is post code.

I would of preferred blue caps since it is my favorite color. But it isn't really a deal breaker for me anyways. I really hate some other motherboard that has M2 covers that stick way out well beyond the first pciexpress slot to where I can't fix my EK active watercooling plate which I have on my 3090 FTW3 Ultra.
