splicer619 I'm still confused because if the launch is officially tomorrow the 10th for the 3070ti shouldn't the Elite Access be today the 9th?
Read the FIRST post in this thread.
I read it but am confused how having Elite will help? Does the 3070ti just not appear unless you are logged in?
The 3070ti will be added to the evga product page at 6:00am PDT Thursday 10-June. At that point, only ELITE members (logged in) will be able to see the "Auto Notify" button and click to get in line (there is a SINGLE line, whether ELITE or not). Starting 6:00am PDT Friday 11-June NON-Elite people will be able to see "Auto Notify" and click to get in line (behind all that got in line from the previous 24 hour period). From the first post in this thread: EVGATech_LeeM General availability for GeForce RTX 3070 Ti begins June 10th. For the US/EU EVGA.com stores, EVGA Elite members will have 24hr exclusive access beginning June 10 at 6AM PDT / 3PM CEST to sign up for an EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti via the auto-notify queue on their respective EVGA.com store. Non-Elite members may begin to enter the auto-notify queue June 11 at approximately 6AM PDT / 3PM CEST on their respective EVGA.com store.

Yes if you are on the site tomorrow and you are not logged in as an elite member then you will only be able to see the product specs and the prices. Instead of a buy button (HA) or a notify me button you will see a note that says only for elite members. Then on the 11th you will see the notify button.

ThePro I have a 3080 FTW3 so I'm in no rush to get a Ti but I will mostly likely buy one at some point in the next few months before BF 2042 comes out.
That said, why is the Ti so expensive compared to the 3080? Has it always been like this with previous non-Ti/Ti releases? I dont remember or is it NVIDIA trying to take advantage of the chip shortages?
The Ti is not thought to be like an "Upgrade" of the 3080, it is more like a speced down 3090 (only like 4% performence loss for 300-400$ less).
Ok, thanks.

Schpaku I posted this on another forum ("Is the 3070 Ti really worth it?") Basically, heres the gist:
3070 Ti is a little over 7% better in gaming performance than 3070 3070 Ti over 9% better in overall synthetic perofmance than 3070
3070 Ti around 22% weaker in gaming performance than 3080
3070 Ti around 18% weaker in overall synthetic performance than 3080
Hope it helps inform your purchase decisions, folks
When nothing is in stock, you don't have a choice if you need a card. Its not a decision to purchase one over the other. Its a decision to buy this if you can or wait and hope.

Tinman57 This might have already been answered but I have a 700W 80 Platinum PSU. Is that enough for a 3070Ti. I had assumed that its power draw would have been a little bit more than the base 3070 but it's actually a lot more. A jump from 220w to 290w is not nothing!
Hard to say, to be honest. As with all things, your overall system build will make a big difference, as well as whether your 700W PSU is a quality PSU. If your MB and CPU are top of the line and power hungry, you'll more likely run into issues (especially if you're overclocking). If the rest of the system is a bit more moderate in terms of power usage, you should be OK. It's also important to remember that the 290W is for the max draw of the system, whereas the card will usually settle in a bit lower than than that unless you're overclocking it.

Sounds like I might just be ok. I've got a 5600x CPU on an x570 MB, 16Gb of trident z ram, a Noctua NH-D15 CPU cooler and a Samsung 980 pro 1TB Nvme drive.

I just saw the wattage on these which amounts to 300 watt and it slower then 2080ti by only few fps 122 vs 117 I question the point the release conisder how much wattage it uses for what 5% more performance over 3070 That being said if i manage to get one threw queue I will use my coupon to get and then sell it. 300 wattage for 3070ti? hell even 3060 is using more more wattage then 1070ti, that a lot of unwanted heat

I ran a 9700K and RTX 3080 since launch with a 650 Watt EVGA GQ PSU and had zero problems. And I had plenty of fans and drives to boot. My 3080 is a Zotac Trinity OC so I could only get a 5% power boost (336 Watts max). I ended up selling all but the GPU and upgrading to Ryzen 5800X and I went ahead and upgraded the PSU to 750 just about month ago. So I would say absolutely as long as its a decent PSU. Some PSUs are absolute junk, but as long as you are running a decent one you should have no issues.

I got it for $419 on sale and at the time the 5900X was not easy to find or I might still have gone with that. To be honest, it doesn't matter for what I do with the PC the 5800X and 5900X make very little difference for gaming. My wife does photo editing on the same PC, but it doesn't make a big difference there either, especially since the GPU does a lot of the heavy lifting in lightroom and photoshop. I also got a 1TB PCI gen 4 WD Black NVME drive that day for like $159, and $20 off my motherboard so I felt like I got a decent deal on everything at Micro Center. It's nice to add up the combo discounts for building a PC there. Had to drive an hour and a half of course.

Nothing to be confused about. NVDIA sets the launch date so EVGA cannot launch the product on 9th even if it's only for Elite members. So technically it's Elite members are getting in the line on time and everyone else is able to line up a day late.

Going by the 3080 Ti, the XC3 will likely be the $599 MSRP and FTW3 will probably be $150 to $200 more. With the Ti already being at a higher stock clock than the 3070 though, I'm not really sure getting a premium card is going to be worth it here, well, they never really are truth be told.

At a certain point the asking price for the 3070Ti starts to run into the price of a 3080 but what are you going to do :)
