I could not even get on the site.
Waiting for 3090 though, but I expect it will be the same.
Scalpers likely.

Same, my payment cleared around 9:03. They emailed me 10 minutes later to void my order though, quoting OOS.

This was quite disappointing on so many levels. Sure, I'm upset I had a card in my cart for over an hour, and couldn't get to checkout with bogged down servers only to find when I did get there "your cart is empty". But the whole matter that they clearly didn't have enough cards to begin with. Sure, everyone wants the cards, and not everyone will get them on release, but this was worse than that.

My local Microcenter had two cards this morning. Two. How does this happen? If the release date is only going to have enough cards for less than 1%, no, 0.1% of your customer base, DON'T LAUNCH THEM. Wait for stock to rise to somewhat meet demand. Now all we're going to see is scalpers who are wanting $500+ over MSRP.

I don't understand EVGA's position here. Don't tell loyal customers that today was going to be a s*** show? Just let them fend for themselves? They could have been open with the community to let them know that THERE ISN'T EVEN CLOSE TO ENOUGH.

Sure I'm just venting, but this was so poor on everyone's part. Nvidia, board partners, even server providers.

Hopefully they can do something with the site before the FTW cards drop..

I don't know if it was a bug due to high server load and the page having trouble loading, but the 3080 FTW3 Ultra was showing up in stock for me for a few minutes this morning.

captcha and maybe some kind of anti-spam software on site would be nice. having the site crash a minute before launch because the bots were going nuts was kind of disappointing

How do scalpers even get all the cards in the first 2 minutes of launch when it says "Limit 1 per household"..

Don't know if Nvidia would have allowed this, but wouldn't some sort of random drawing a day or two before launch been better to control the madness and give real people an actual shot at getting one of the cards? Wouldn't completely control bots and scalpers, but may have helped a bit.

Nvidia's site kept saying "notify me" and then all of a sudden it says out of stock. So they aren't much better.

There are tons of people with more money than brains.  There are people with tons of money that just want something because others don't. It's the same reason people were paying for that thousand dollar iphone App that did nothing.  It's a status symbol and bragging rights.  It may only last a month, but then they'll be chasing after the next new thing... they don't care about the actual thing... they just care about having something others dont.

Just wanted to say nice job EVGA against the scalpers. I was able to log on to your site about 20 minutes after launch and there was one card showing available. Of course my screen then froze and kicked me out back to an error page. But i'm glad all the bots got theirs because deep down all that matters is profits.

People aren't actually paying those crazy five figure prices you see on ebay.  Users make fake accounts just to drive up the price to mess with the seller.

Well, on the bright side you can still buy an EVGA 2080 ti on Newegg for just over $1700.  ;P

this is why pre order is much more better. you never get over loaded and can easily avoid automation by using anti bot techniques. also it gives  proper numbers so that the company can meet the demand at least up to 80% if the supply pipelines are properly managed pre launched (again based on the pre order demands).

What they should have done is have a sign-up then a lottery sending out an email with a 1 time use link. It isn't difficult to do at all yet they don't do it. They would still make the money and sell the product it just gives people a better chance. If you don't get selected in first round you keep picking people until the list runs out or inventory increases enough.

I'll wait when a (preferably) strix 3090 or ftw3 card drops. I wont take any base model.

My old 2080ti was overclocking to 2115 mhz under water stable and holding. The last thing i would do is get a 3080 TUF or XC3 card that performs worse than the FE and has no overclocking headroom. My gain would be what? 20%

I'll wait for a premium 3090 and if that takes a month then so be it.
Also, these cards need big power draw to truely make the performance leap more meaningful.

See how the Nvidia card is outperforming base model cards because of the higher power draw? I need the 3 x 8 pin overbuilt cards it makes a huge difference. If i can get a 500+ power draw with upgraded bios i will be satisfied. 2080ti owners should have panic sold on ebay

If you look at the bids you'll see that the bids are coming from people with 200-1000 feedback.  These aren't fake accounts driving up the price.  These are established accounts that have engaged in tons of successful transactions.  Im sure that you thinking its random people screwing with sellers makes you feel better... but sadly that's not the truth.

Wow, thats was the most unpleasant hardware shop experience I have ever had. God I hope AMD doesn't can offer a better experience than that, but somehow I doubt it. I didn't have a whole lot of hope to get one as retailers were not properly supplied and holy cow all the website kept crashing, hahaha. Sheesh.

The holiday season is coming. The 3090s won't be in readily available in stock for many months, likely into 2021, unless you get lucky and snipe one as soon as it pops up one day.

LMAO. There are networks of bot accounts buying from each other and selling to each other to raise ratiings, they also leave bot reviews. Reading the items purchased and the reviews left makes this pretty obvious. These scalpers are next level, just spend some time on Amazon/Ebay/Newegg cross referencing reviewers and you will see it is all connected.

There are people fomo bidding like crazy on Ebay. Imagine paying 3-4k for a fe with 10gb of memory only to watch a 20 model get dropped after RDNA2. hahaha! There is no way I was considering to pay any more that 699.
