This makes me wonder if I should even invest in a Hybrid kit.
My temps on air are just as good as what I am seeing here.

The OP has no Fan running and no Shroud Installed on the GPU.
Temps under a Hybrid should be in the Mid 50°C to Upper 50°C at Max not 70°C
Mine under the Hydro Copper are in the Upper 40°C to Lower 50°C with 57°C Max

Ok thanks, highest I have seen on air whilst gaming so far has been around 67c - normally runs in low to mid 60's during gaming session. If putting one on means like mid 50's then I may still consider it.
Assuming I can snag one of course lol.

I guess we have different problems, and I am still on it to fix it the next weeks

Right now for me it is like that I am hitting 88° (templimit with over 1900Mhz) when my fans are at 70% if I run it on max its just 60°. (In BF V)

But I have a high overclocked CPU aswell. But wondering how to fix that temp loudness factor.
Or if I just accept the temp.

With the shroud and fans running on my "noisy" hybrid, I'm still getting 70c on PUBG (idle at 32c). So I'm hoping the replacement will be better. That said, on air I would get anywhere from 84c to 86c on the EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti XC GAMING.

So...did I have a bad card to begin with or is that normalish?

I hear ya. I only tend to see these extreme temps in PUBG. In Battlefield V it's much less...

Just installed mine and had the same bad LED sodering job. Only have a White LED now myself. Contacted EVGA and they are going to do an advanced RMA for me. I noticed my pump makes a similar noise. Right now playing BFV I maxed out at 80C, is that ok? Idle goes down to 39C.

Either both of you have somehow messed up the installation of those hybrids or the quality of them has gone down dramatically. 70-80 C with a hybrid is unacceptable. I had one with my 1070 and max gaming temp was 52 C. Need more user feedback before buying one for my 2070.

Right now I just got up and its idling at 36c, I am going to pull it out and check to make sure its mounted properly.

It is either the mounting or the pump is not working too well.

No, 80C would be terrible for a hybrid kit.

Yeah 80C is ridiculous! After an extended gaming session last night the hottest both of my 2080Ti's got (with 130% power) was 64*C. I love the performance of these things. I'll call EVGA today to get my shroud replaced. I would attempt to solder the wire myself but I don't have the tools or experience to do it.

Yeah I took a pic as I have the same issue as you with the Shroud and they are sending me a new unit. I am going to go ahead and remount the cooler again later tonight and will take pictures and upload here if I run into any issues.

Also I swapped out the fan on the unit with an ML120 fan, would that make a difference if I am running it in quiet mode? I was not sure how loud the stock EVGA fan was and wanted to maintain a quiet system.

Without knowing the Room temp as reference -- the hardware Temp does not mean much

Hardware Temp - Room Temp = the difference in temp  (indicates the quality of the cooler/ heat transfer) this is called "Delta T"  (ΔT)

Case & airflow also can influence temps

Is your AIO used as intake ?

see my Rig - AIO Folding for build details (EVGA 1080Ti FTW3 Hybrids)

Current readings:

Room 66 F (~19C)
Both GPU @2100 MHz & 85 to 90% Load for weeks, fan 100% on the card

Top Card
GPU Temp 45 C = ΔT 26 C
Power Temp 54 C = ΔT 35 C
Mem Temp 51 C = ΔT 32 C

Bottom Card
GPU Temp 43 C = ΔT 24 C
Power Temp 50 C = ΔT 31 C
Mem Temp 47 C = ΔT 28 C

So compare your effective cooling with the ΔT number or at a minimum list your room temp

Is your GPU  ΔT around 26 C -30 C ?

My EVGA 2080Ti on Air with Exceptional airflow (sides are off the case, with a small desk fan blowing across them) ΔT 40 C - 45 C

see RTX Project for build details

The radiator is in the rear 120mm spot in my Corsair 500D case. The fan is set to push air out and is in front of the radiator with the radiator itself secured then mounted in the 120mm spot.

OK, your pushing warmed air from inside the case through the rad

https://www.corsair.com/us/en/obsidian-500d-case

What fans (blow In or Out) & CPU cooler

So I have a push/pull H115i pro setup in the front. Should I move the fan over to pull air out?

Usually positive air pressure cools best

Your preheating the air inside the case with the CPU, RAM & MB - then blowing it through the GPU rad

What temps on your CPU ?  is it OC ?

What CPU ?

H115i 280 AIO CPU cooler

If the side of Case is opened, do you see a drop in temps ?

If there are No mechanical HD spinning, try gently rocking the case some - to work air bubbles out of your Pump - while PC is running

(if you have mechanical HD I'd unplug them first after shutdown, to prevent any damage)

CPU is a 2700x non overclocked and the temps are excellent. I do see a drop in temps, not as much idle but in load I do when opening the case door. I can rock the case a little but I also will remount just in case.

One of the things you might want to consider is replacing the thermal paste. I wiped the stuff that came with the hybrid cooler and used a more premium product. I idle around 30c.

I apply a thin layer using a special plastic tool. You can use a credit card or something that bends nicely.

Thanks, though it looks like a Break from the Pin, it is a very thin wire.

Right it is very thin and fragile. I would assume for a 170 cooling unit that it would be more sturdy.
