I have been waiting in the que forever.  I have a computer that I built just sitting there unable to use it because I cant get a video card.  It's been 4 months.  Please let me buy a RTX3080

Bruh, we all waiting.
 
Need bitcoin to fail or NVIDIA to make a thing to make all graphics card stop farming ETH. 

One ore more things could happen to end Cryptocurrency boom.
1. Crypto Market is unstable crashes people do not trust it there is no stabilizing force.
2. So many people start mining the reward is so little it is not worth using a GPU.
3. The hash rate becomes too difficult, it becomes more difficult over time.
4. Electricity costs more than it costs to mine.
5) Enough video cards are produced that there is enough stock to supply demand.
6) Newer video cards, or more powerful mining ASIC rigs are produced that make the older video cards not as attractive to buy.
7) Governments ban Crypto due to enviromental issues.
 
Alternate solution, if you cannot beat them join them.
I have a RTX 580 and can make $2-3 USD a day, how long until it pays the scalper fees or at lease offset it enough to justify a new video card purchase.

Fist they should ban individual houses - in townhomes two walls are "hot" walls - there neighbors behind it, it more energy efficient than standalone houses. Next they should ban cars if not all seats are occupied. It is nidicolous when huge truck move just one people. Should I proceed?
People waste too much energy not because they need to, but because they want to. Cryptocurrency is not unique here.

 
I wont go into a political debate that's not what the tread is about.
Some countries have banned Crypto, and others are looking into it, its not likely but it is possible.
Our country is more likely going to heavily tax something and make it less profitable than to eliminate it.
In a way they have with the 25% GPU Tariff and passing on increased costs to you and me.
 
The original thread post is a gamer wanting a GPU, think we are all feeling the GPU market pain and just want everything to go back to more like normal.

This I wholeheartedly agree with. I feel the OPs pain.....even tho I have my 3090 ...I'd like to get a card for a friend.....and I can't.

Ty for reply been waiting almost 6 months for a 3080FTW3 9-26 -20 and been waiting on Hybrid 3080s and 3090s including the Kingpin since Dec. Best of Gaming too you.

I wish in the que system they will tell you what number you are so you can kinda plan on the count down.  I kinda feel like Beetlejuice right now lol

Good luck waiting. I'm holding off for the 3898 - 3080 hybrid. No rush necessarily, but I'm ready to upgrade my 290x lol

I bought a 3080, it was running hot & loud, sold it
Got a 3090, had coil whine, sold it
Now stuck waiting to get something else and like you, I won't pay scalper prices.
There are no new games where the 3080/3090 are absolutely needed so I am ok with waiting. I think a lot of people are in the 'i must have the new shiny' mind set and are paying too much for these cards. They are just GPUs after all.
 

I really wish there was a solution. Both NVIDIA and AMD simply can't produce enough GPUs to meet demand.
