I totally feel your pain, I have been saving money for 3 years and when I was about to reward myself a gaming rig for passing university entrance my local computer store quote me with a ridiculous price even with full rig bundle

I have been the queue since January and should have started earlier, with more models. I've originally targeted a 3080, but I'll settle for a 3070 or even shell out for a 3090 at this point.

I was able to get a 3070 from ibuypower. Seems like the PC builders are starting to get a couple cards here than there. I have not bought a prebuilt since 1996 but desperate times.

Both NVIDIA and AMD simply can't produce enough GPUs to meet demand.
I have to disagree with that. Sales figures have shown record $$ for them.
The problem more lies in the facts that they are selling majority to Crypto Corps & System builders ( which I understand ) but then the rest are being thrown to the wind into retail with almost NO efforts to stop 'scalper-bots' from scooping them up.
IF the companies had spent anytime figuring out a preorder system,1-per address preorder, queue ,..etc... anything better... They could have gotten a card into every single gamers hands by now in the past year.
This! Also, most of the companies could care less where the money comes form as long as its coming in. They could build a new factory and still sell out at this point.

Only sure fire way to get any new 30xx series card is to buy a prebuilt system from one of the vendors..
They are getting them every single week.. all kinds.
the Alienware even has a custom-built 3080 that only takes up 2 slots... it's awesome.

Sucks to suck. Some people who entered the Waitlist in October still haven't got their cards yet so I wish you the best of luck, but if you really need one quick you can try buying one off of eBay for an extremely inflated price.
