No, not a pet or anything living but my office chair. My wife and my now deceased Father-in law bought this as an anniversary present years and years ago for me. They went to all kinds of stores and sat in dozens of chairs and finally found the perfect chair. It was an ordinary black office chair but I have sat in this chair every single day and there was no place in the world that was more comfortable to sit. I wasted hours watching movies, playing games and even working in this chair. If you look at the arm rests, the WOOD is actually worn smooth from years of use. It has been an embarrassment in our house because the rest of our house is very clean but the rule was as long as I turn it so the stuffing and wood can't be seen when I wasn't using it, it was ok. I bet there have been times where I have sat in it almost 12 hours straight on a day off. It fits me perfectly and it is also sentimental but at this point, it's time to let it go. And yes, it looks like an average office max, best buy ect... chair but it isn't. It was different. More padding and just better built. The idea of having it reupholstered was thrown around but she's just too far gone... I kinda went the cheap and dangerous route because I am tired of going to stores only to go through disappointment so I spent 100 bucks on this one from Ebay. https://www.amazon.com/Gaming-High-back-Computer-Ergonomic-Design/dp/B01HNTLIM4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484892456&sr=8-1&keywords=rc1+gaming+chair I wanted the white one but it just seemed like it would get dirty so I got the blue one. The padding isn't the same, it doesn't feel near as sturdy as the old one but I am going to give it a shot. Paypal offers money back on return shipping so that's why I went that route, plus it was 10 bucks cheaper than amazons. It's a little campy with the "racing" theme but so far, so good.

Well at lest you got full use out of her. How is the height of the new one? Seems like every chair I try is really tall pushing my legs into my keyboard tray.

It is adjustable and can go pretty low. From the floor to the top of the armrest is about 24" at the lowest setting and has about a 7-8 inch range to go higher. From the floor to the top of the seat where your legs would be an issue is 17" at it's lowest setting. The head pillow is kinda weak and the foot rest that slides out is kind of weird because the weight of your legs causes the chair to lean forward unless it is really inclined. It goes completely horizontal too but I feel like I am getting my teeth cleaned when I recline it that far. Save

My wife walked in and I was sitting on the old chair again with the new one sitting beside it. I said "just one more day!!" She just shook her head.

Ha! I can relate... I have a hard time getting rid of computer chairs, the only one i've thrown away in the past was one that broke on me when leaning back and the back support busted off and cut me in the waist pretty bad when I landed on the metal part that links the back support to the chair I was bleeding like crazy. Right now I am at the point that one or two need to go in the trash, at the very least my wife's old PC chair that feels like your sitting on a pole because all of the padding wore down. My oldest chair does not look quite as bad, but I had tears with exposed stuffing as well. I ended up slapping duct tape on all of the big tears in the chair and it really held it together pretty well... It's been an extra chair for whoever is hanging out with me in the man cave and friends don't seem to mind it. I've had that chair for about 12 years now and it's still not too bad... mainly cause it was retired as my daily chair about 6 years ago and is rarely used. I thought for sure my last chair was going to out last my torn up one... It was a big and tall chair from Costco, meant to support people up to 400LB. It ended up causing me back pains since the chair started to lean to one side more than the other due to cheap materials used at the base of the chair... ended up putting up with it for a total of 6 years. Just recently replaced my PC chair with this tempur-pedic chair. Couldn't be happier... the seat stays nice and cool after long sessions on the PC and it's memory foam, so it's super comfortable. From looks alone I would of never bought it... I still gave it a try and once I sat down in it at my local Staples, I knew I was going to buy it.

I find shopping for chairs difficult as well. I don't own one of those crazy gaming chairs. I went to a Staples or whatever, and just sat in the store for about two hours. Yep, just sat. Last chair I tried, because it was almost $300 I think it was, was a tempurpedic office chair. Only say a few minutes compared to the others where I sat for way longer. No headrest, but when I'm gaming I don't need it, and if I'm watching something I'm slouching anyways. Thing is amazing, and after 3 years, the cushion is just as soft. The problem with cheap chairs...padding that goes flat. @Rain - Going to love your chair. If mine ever falls, I'm buying another one. It's that good. I need to check out my brother's chair. He got one of those high end expensive gaming chairs. Has had it for a couple years now. Want to see if it is as soft as it was when he bought it. Even then, don't think I would buy one, just don't like the looks of them.

I would say you got the money out of it. You know when you're gaming or working with a PC a good chair to sit in is really important. This is my chair. Sorry for the poor picture quality but it has a new look and the mix of that with wood gives it a nice nostalgic look.

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with it. A buddy of mine just got a standing desk and i've been considering trying something like that out for my set-up.

I tried the blanket thing and even some black tape but it was just too far gone. I like the wood blend of that chair, it looks sweet. I may end up getting another chair for my music room or moving this one into there. I don't think I will go with the racing style again. I like the chair but it is almost too form fitting. It makes me have great posture but I want a big pillow-like black leather chair I can get lost in sometimes.
