chicochaco Is that overclocked? I have not yet got around to testing single card yet but this card is a beast!! I thought the 980 was good enough but after overclocking I changed my mind. DX12 can still even the playing field with combined Vram but even then I think the Titan X would just decimate everything in front of it. The Titan X has finally delivered the Titan brand to that of gamers.
Nope. That's straight out of the box. :3

tamvegas Just got mine from Nvidia an hour ago and I'm really impressed. Will dig in more tonight after work but this is what I've experienced so far. In Far Cry on ultra settings it's using about 4 gigs Vram and getting 50 plus FPS (on a GSync 4K monitor) In Assasins Creed on ultra at 4k it's giving about 40 FPS and sucks up almost 8 gigs of Vram! (wasn't expecting that) In Star Citizen (pre-alpha) I'm getting a very smooth 30 FPS while using up to 7 gigs of Vram. Gameplay on all games checked so far is silky smooth at ultra on 4K and a pleasure. So my initial thinking is that I will be adding a 2nd one in sli as soon as Evga has them (hopefully on a step-up if that's added by April 4th). I'm very pleased with this as I really want to be able to game at 4K at the full 60FPS G-Sync offers on all games. I also immediately did a light overclock (plus 70 on core clock and plus 80 on memory) with zero issues.
Very nice. I think the Vram alone makes it worthwhile for people who have higher resolutions. I want to upgrade to a 4K monitor soon and will be picking up the Titan X SC as soon as I can. I had a feeling i would have to pick up a second one to enjoy 4k and your information reinforced my thoughts.
Thanks!
Thanks. I did a couple quick runs on 3DMark and found that at 4K and 2K is where the Titan X really seems to shine. With a light OC (same as on the Titan Black) my Firestrike Ultra score went from 2550 to 4300. About a 70% increase! And on Firestrike Extreme got about a 50% increase. At 1920x1080 the scores went up about 30%. So yes, IMO this is the card for 4K gaming (especially in sli). For a 4K monitor, I highly recommend the Acer 4K G-Sync. It's still the only 4K G-Sync available and has been flawless since I got it about 2 months ago.

Looks like some nice performance. I was going to snag a Titan X, but after needing to move over to a 16GB kit it put me about $100 short. I decided to take advantage of the great savings I am getting on people jumping ship from the GTX 980's. I'll be picking up my brand new in box GTX 980 for $480 this Saturday.

Sorry if this has been answered already: I see that the frequencies for the SC and HydroCopper version differ slightly. I wonder, if it is a good idea to order a SC now and replace the cooler myself (which would have the additional advantage that I get to keep the original cooler, which might make it easier to sell the card later) or if I should wait for the HydroCopper to be available. Is there any date known when the HC it will be available? And more importantly: Does it differ regarding the voltage and power target limits? On the board itself and/or in the BIOS?

Was the 16GB decision due to the recommended 24GB specs, because having read that thread here it seems no one is going to have a problem running lower RAM quantities unless that entire 12GB VRAM gets completely used up which currently seems unlikely. Can't go wrong with a 980 at that price though...have fun!.

I guess the answer to that question will come down to whether or not you want to wait on the HC. I've read that the HC's are coming May 1st, and for your last question there is no difference the hydrocopper is essentially just your standard ole' titan X with a factory overclock and a waterblock slapped on.

That's a great deal! But yes the 980 hasn't really been devalued at all with this pricing and probably won't be even with the 390X launch in a few months since there is a lot of room for that card to settle in the $700-800 range if it is within 10% of Titan X. 380X is also rumored to be Hawaii refresh, so with 10% clock bump and similar performance to the 980, it could slot in at $400 and not impact 980 pricing much if at all. That was my strategy originally, to get a 2nd 980 SC once prices came down or BigMaxwell came out, but Nvidia surprised me somewhat on Titan X pricing so I went for the big one. The 980 is an amazing card/chip though, best Nvidia card I've ever owned all things considered, and that is including the GTX 8800 and Titan X. Hey Grestorn! Nice to see you posting and still interested in PC gaming, haven't really seen you around since the 3D Vision forums went offline/downhill. SC is definitely the best option imo, HC tends to come out later and is snatched up quickly. The SC option over vanilla also offers guaranteed OC and while I am not 100% sure they change voltage/power target, I have noticed on this Titan X vanilla, that the power profiles tend to go below the floor more once you deviate from stock clocks/boost. For example, base/boost clock on Titan X is 1000/1075, it will always run 1000MHz and boost as high as 1202 without touching clockspeed in AfterBurner. If I move the clockspeed slider, It will actually drop to a lower performance state in the 900s sometimes. I changed the setting in NVCP to Prefer Max Performance and that seems to have helped a bit.

Have there been any updates as to when the SC will be in stock?? I wish they would give us some sort of idea..... That would make everyone so happy.
Example. "Guys, We will have stock today at 3:00 pm. We will update our site to reflect the status exactly at 3:00 pm PST.. So get your fingers and credit cards ready!" Wouldn't everyone love to hear that kind of news? ( besides their website if it were to crash from all that traffic.)
