I could modify the version 1 vbios listed at the beginning of this thread down to 1.243mv, but I don't know if it will work with newer drivers or not.

Let's try. The power limit will be 129%? Like in 1281 version. I have a feeling that it's more than that, or maybe I should send my original vbios?

Unfortunately no luck with new drivers. Is it possible just to remove boost limitation and voltage drops from original vbios?

Did you get voltage drops on the version 1 vbios listed in this thread when using it on older drivers? If yes, no there isn't a way to remove the voltage drops via editing the vbios.

no. With any modded bios I don't get those drops. Only with original bios when graphics card gets hot

Link me the original, and I'll try something to see if I can get it to work.

Sure. But please do not fix mhz. Thank you for your help

fixed mhz rate is not working for all applications for me for some reason. Some work on 1480 some on 1350, so this is the main issue with your 1420x rom for me. Though it's perfectly stable

Ok give this one a try...

it works with the latest 445 driver. It has 121% power capacity. But it crashes when overclocking, sitting somewhere at 1155 at stock. Also, coolers rpm got back to stock from 4000+ to 3000+

Re: GTX 980 TI BIOS/VOLTAGE HACK 2020/05/19 17:36:38 (permalink)
very interesting. Without overclock it sits at 1250mhz at 1149 very stable. FPS is the same as 1400 OC with latest driver. Not sure what's going on. Previously, it used to crash at 1177 MHz at 1193mv. It's more stable. Though I can't OC it. It's 65 C. So I can't test if voltage will drop

Let me know what it boosts to without overclocking it.

Let me know what it boosts to without overclocking it.

Well, it immediately produces blue screen under load. Though I noticed coolers run at 4300 rpm again. And the driver is still working.

I'll try to add some info maybe it will help. This GPU at stock comes with 999mhz speed and 3505 mem speed. In afterburner I noticed that it was boosting to 1177mhz at 1193mv, then dropping it to 1174mv sometimes crashing so I used to increase voltage a bit or decrease frequency. Not sure how you managed to make it run 1250mhz at 1149mv stable but it was really surprising, previously it would mean 100% immediate failure. Maybe I see wrong voltage. Anyways, this latest rom crashing it now, I can't see boost value. I can add voltage in afterburner but it's not doing anything, crashing it under load when added too much

The driver is still working and voltage is 1.268 now. But it stays at 135 MHz, tried to use performance mode in nvidia control panel, didn't help

maximum voltage - 0.893. Can't set memory clock in afterburner. Max core clock - 405 under load. min -135, adding more changes nothing

this one is interesting but unstable. It sits at 1049mv. It boosts randomly from 1101 to 1190mhz at 1049mv to 1080mv. I can adjust voltage and if I add max +87 I can get 1243mv under load. It boosts to 1380mhz then. But it then drops to 1224mv. It's still stable on 1380mhz, but the whole boost process is unstable, voltage is lower than needed when it boosts and it can crash. so I can't overclock core clock, because it will boost too high at 1049mv before it can adjust to 1224-1243mv. Memory is overclocking fine. So I think it's better to go with higher voltage or smaller boost or both, so I could have a room to adjust that. Interesting if it's possible to go to 1281 with latest bios, 1268 worked. I can try performance mode also, but it will keep it hot

This one goes to 1243mv almost immediately if I set +87 in afterburner (maybe I shouldn't?), but it boosts only to 1114mhz. If I try to add even 50mhz it crashes. Blue screen

See if this one allows you to push more than 1243mv... https://www.mediafire.com...m28/original6.rom/file

no, I can't. It's 1243 and dropping to 1224mv. The boost is now allowing me to add manually 180-200 mhz and get stable 1380mhz at this voltage. If you can somehow make it static at 1268 or more like you did before without changing the rest - maybe it will work. Not sure if it's possible

nope, same thing. But feels more stable, no blue screen  the only times when it was above 1243 is when it was fixed at the rate of 1268 or 1274, like in other mods

This one is unstable. Boosting to 1215mhz at 1049mv? probably not enough

well, it's almost perfect, I think original 6 and 7 are good. Latest bios with all overclocking features except maxed out voltage :) For me controlling overclock range > extra 100mhz. But if to make this mod do all things at once - this will be an incredible mod

I'm not sure why in metro exodus I can't pass some locations with OC over 1390mhz no matter which voltage is set. While in other applications I can get 1480+ with 1281 mod. But this mod is crashing too much for me
