What is your Asic quality ? Syc0PthicManiac I currently have a 980 Ti SC+ card, part # 06G-P4-4995-KR and I can not seem to get it very far for overclocking. Help would be appreciated please :) My setup (for now) is Biostar TA880GU3+ AM3 Socket MB AMD Phenom II x4 B50 (all 4 unlocked) CPU 16mb DDR3 ram ThermalTake 650w PSU Soon the 980 TI card will be swapped into a setup with a Asus Z170I MB, Toshiba OCZ RD400 M.2 SSD ,32gb DDR4 2400 ram, and a Intel I5 6600k CPU as soon as I get the rest of the parts ordered. So for now it is in my OLD setup...

That is not true at all. The % just means there is more of a voltage leak so to achieve the same OC than a higher ASIC rated chip, you would have to input more v to compensate.

more voltage does not help with Maxwell. Only under LN2. Youre pretty much stuck with what you achieve with the stock bios and stock voltage.

1281mv is the peak for refrence cards without a hardmod. IIRC the classified/kingpin can go higher.

Sounds like a good topic for the Kingpin section of the forum. https://forums.evga.com/EVGA-OC-Lab-f109.aspx^^The replacement for Kingpin and Tin's kingpincooling.com forum.

Sajin 1. No, any modded 980 Ti vbios will work. Max voltage you can achieve is 1.28v as your card is based off the nvidia 980 ti reference pcb. Reference pcb's are limited to 1.28v. 4. Nope. Just use the 980Ti-SC-425-1281mv vbios over at overclock.net to get your card up to the max of 1.28v. Sorry to dredge up an old post here, but are the vbios still hosted anywhere? I can't seem to find the 980Ti-SC-425 vbios.

https://www.overclock.net/attachments/31985 Don't think it will work though as nvidia has blocked voltage mods via drivers, so if you install it your card will just code 43.

So with the voltage mods being blocked, is there any way to overclock the card outside of the basic Afterburner setting? My card sometimes just crashes out of the blue on my overclock, and it seems as though either the voltage doesnt ramp up fast enough or it downclocks and crashes even at 30 degrees.

So the stock max voltage seems to be 1.243v. Is there a way to at least hold this voltage? My biggest issue seems to be when it drops.

A "hard mod" will do it. "Hard" stands for hardware. Not actually hard to accomplish for anyone with basic soldering skills, a steady hand, and good eyesight. All you need is two pieces of wire, a trimming potentiometer, a multimeter, a soldering iron, magnifying glass (not necessary but beneficial), a little bit of reading, and a will to void your video card's warranty. A hardware mod is undetectable by software (until some newer video cards with very tricky circuitry and internal GPU core voltage measurement mechanisms to detect tampering). Otherwise, using software, you can use things like tweaking the frequency/voltage curve, setting high performance mode in NVIDIA control panel, and using Kboost. Those methods will sort of get you there.

Looks like the one I linked you only does the following... - Based on the EVGA SC BIOS, no boost limit - 350W default power target at 100% - 425W max power target at 121% This one is the one you actually want. It does the following... - Based on the EVGA SC BIOS, no boost limit - 350W default power target at 100% - 425W max power target at 121% - 1.281v under load

I noticed that late last night, but went to bed before coming back here. I was going to ask you about that today, but you appear to have read my mind. Thanks again! (Also - So far, even with 1.243v, I seem to be stable up to 1.6ghz on the core maxing out at 49 degrees. Cant wait to see what 1.281v can do!)

It looks like the one you linked is the same as the first one. I still have 1.243v as my max. The file name was the same as well (I think the 1.281v filename ends in 1281mv if I read the first few posts correctly).

Thanks, that appears to be the correct file now. However, when I flash that one the PC does not recognize my card. I can flash back to the 980Ti-SC-425 file and it works fine, but the 980Ti-SC-425-1281 seems to wipe it out again. I have restarted the PC after each one. Any suggestions on something I may be missing?

So I won't actually see a code, that's just what it's called? And there's no work around for that (other than hard modding)? I'm stuck using the 1.243v version? *Edit* I see where it says Code 43 in Device Manager now. So basically there's no way around this on the software/bios side any longer? Only hard modding for more voltage?
