So I read that Kingpin said that Maxwell doesn't scale well with voltage. So is 1.274 not a good spot for these cards? If I pull the voltage back will it get higher clocks (obviously not going to pull the voltage too far back lol) just curious guys

Things are quite a bit different between the SC, SSC, FTW models and the Classy and KPE.  With the SC, SSC, FTW models, if you go into the bios and set them to run at 1.275v, it's quite possible you'll see a little more core clock.  With the Classy and KPE, setting 1.275v in the Classy voltage tool will likely lead you to a giant heaping pile of crash.  

Just an educated guess, as to what the difference is, but I'd GUESS it has to do with Vdroop / LLC in the voltage controllers.....as I'm sure if you read the actual voltage on the core of the SC, SSC, or FTW, they're running about the same voltage as the Classy and KPE, but.....I digress.  As I said...I'm guessing....

So, when he says, "Maxwell doesn't scale well with voltage, and the Classys / KPEs run best at about 1.87 to 1.2v".  Apply what I said above, do some testing in the bios files.  Find the happy place with your GPU with temps and voltage and run with it.

I am running version 3 of the bios in the OP and so far it works great with Bake in disabled for my 980 ti. Just wondering since I am pinned at 1.274v if I lower it a tad bitt can I gain a few MHz, maybe like 10 or 20... I would like to do the testing on that, but this bios is capped at 1.274, Sajin would you kindly want to take a look if you can give me voltage control on that one?

Here, try this.  I wasn't sure why what I did to the other one wasn't working, so I dug up a stock one for reference.  This should work.  Don't forget though, that if you have the power settings in the driver set up to performance, instead of adapative, there probably isn't going to be any changing it...same for kboost.

Can anyone explain to me why setting the PSU PEG Rails so high on the power table doesn't cause any harm even though they're set to values higher than the rated outputs of 8 pin and 6 pin pcie power connectors?

6 pins can easily handle 150, and with a good PSU, handle 200 and even higher.  8 pins with a good PSU can handle up to 300 watts.  The spec on the 6 and 8 pins are the minimum standard....in order to be called a 6 pin PCIe connector, they have to be able to deliver 75 watts, and the 8 pins have to be able to deliver 150 watts.

I tried to modify my stock bios with Maxwell II Bios tweaker by making max voltage 1.28 and raising the TDP of the card, and it did nothing, didnt change a thing when I flashed the modify back on. Is there any way I could get help from one of you guys in modifying my bios as you guys seem to know what you are doing? Ty in advance.

I'm assuming your build is right in your sig?  If so.....the card will never read over 1.212v.  You have a Classy.....in order to change voltage, you'll need to use the Classy voltage tool.  Search "980ti Classified Voltage Tool Kingpin Forums".  You'll find it.

You'll also find, that running between 1.17 and 1.187 will serve you a lot better with the Classy, than trying to run anything more than that.  

Just using the Classified tool alone I couldnt get above 1.212v, or did you mean to use the classified tool with the modded bios?

If you're using GPUz, it's not going to read the correct voltage...it's going to show 1.212v.  Regardless....you're not going to get anywhere with extra voltage, unless you have some pretty extreme cooling.  Like, at a minimum, below 30c under load.  Your best bet to get higher clocks, is to keep the temps down.  1.187v to 1.193v for air / water cooling.  Going above 55c on the core, will give you almost 0 chance of reaching above 1500.

I've never seen anything but 1.2 or 1.212.  No matter what I set the voltage tool to.  Regardless...setting that much voltage with the Classy tool isn't going to do anything without pretty amazing cooling.

But changing the voltage above 1.212 in the bios doesn't do anything....it may be reading it from the bios, but....it's not going to run at that voltage.

I can tell you with a pretty great amount of certainty, that actually running that much voltage through a Classy without sub-ambient cooling wouldn't yield anything but higher temps, which in turn would result in lower overclocks.

That was a given? I thought that was pretty much well known? If you don't have the cooling then one should not be trying to go higher. With power or voltage beyond ones means.
