greekie
I placed an order on Amazon on January 3rd for a 1080TI (regular price, not a third party seller), and I finally received it yesterday! Stock must be slowly trickling back in

That is a long wait.

Who would have thought that people would be willing to pay over $1300 for a 1080 ti!

Fresh news: on the EVGA shop they raised the prices a bit, at least for the EU market. Just to give some numbers: the 1080 Ti SC Black Edition was 819€ up to 1 hour ago, now it costs 899€.

They have been slowly increasing the USA prices as well, everything is at least $30+ as compared to the last 2 weeks.

I can't believe how low prices are in US compared to europe...1000$ for you is like 1200$ for us.

I am so depressed over the recent price gouging from 3rd party retailers. I am in the process of purchasing components for a new build and can't seem to catch a break finding a good deal for a GPU. It seems that I will be stuck waiting until prices fall.

+1.  My son has been working and saving his money since last Spring to build his dream gaming machine.  He thought he had enough and then we went and looked at the current video card prices and were in shock.  Memory prices too.  Absolutely ridiculous.  Cryptocurrency miners and retailer price gouging are to blame.  Would be nice if card manufacturers would hold some cards back for sale to gamers only.

That sucks. Whats his setup looking like so far? (spec wise)

He was wanting to go with the following setup:
  • ASUS Maximus X Hero
  • EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 GAMING, 11G-P4-6696-KR, 11GB GDDR5X
  • Intel i7-8700K
  • Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200 C16 1.35V CMK32GX4M2D3200C16
  • EVGA DG-77 Matte Black Mid-Tower
  • EVGA SuperNOVA 750 P2, 80+ PLATINUM 750W , Fully Modular , EVGA ECO Mode, 10 Year Warranty
  • EVGA CLC 280 Liquid / Water CPU Cooler
  • BenQ ZOWIE 24.5" XL2546

There was supposed to be stock yesterday and there wasn't so who knows.

Actually, went back and saw his post late last night. He didn't say anything about today though.

I ended up get a MSI way above retail... Im going to keep trying to get a basic 1080 ti at retail and return this. I have a little bit of buyers remorse. More then anything I feel ripped off.

As far as I'm concerned I'll keep waiting the re-stock of the EVGA shop. I don't know how long it will take, but I'll wait. Perseverance, that's all.

I would encourage you to do this. because of my impatience I paid +$100 more then retail plus shipping only to regret the purchase.

Well retail prices are already high enough. So you're saying that you paid extra 100 bucks over the already high retail price? Or perhaps are you referring to the MSRP?

I'd guess MSRP. I'm fine with paying that because, while it might be "high", it's a definite floor.

Well I been refunded completely for an Asus 1080 Ti Founder Edition, just because I can't stand all Asus burocracy mess and warranty void if you watch the GPU too often. I paid 755€ through Amazon and now I'm about to pay almost 150€ more. And yet the MSRP is listed as 699€.

It's only in-store purchase in our area.

I bought MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti DUKE 11G OC for 899.99. Im not even sure what retail is for this. Being an O.C. card I would guess it would be 750.00-800.00.
