JLMS2010

Volta is right around the corner and 10 series is at end of production. I wouldn't stock up on 10 series at this point.

What is around the corner? 2 months 6 months? Nobody knows.. why would they release a new series when the demand is the way it is now. Also, they probably won’t release the high end cards. They’ll start off with the 60’s and 70’s first.

Nobody outside of Nvidia knows for sure (and Nvidia itself MIGHT not have it's plans set in stone yet, but whoever DOES know isn't talking).
Indications are pretty strong though that the announcement of the first Volta consumer cards will be no later than their GTC event in late March, though actual cards for SALE might be delayed into April.

They MIGHT decide to push it up a month or so though, given the current extreme shortages and that TSMC should have been making the chips for about a month now, but remember lead times and stuff like "process verification" testing of the first batch or three will likely mean the working members of the first batch of chips made from wafers started in late December or early January won't all make it into cards that are ready to sell 'til sometime in Febuary or even early March.

Volta isn't going to immediately make Pascal cards worthless - it's a "process upgrade" sort of thing, kind of like the AMD 5xx series vs the 4xx series - should be a little more efficient, and probably clock a little higher, but it's not going to be a "night and day" difference.
It's NOT like the generation/note change from Maxwell to Pascal that WAS a night and day difference, where the GTX 1070 could sometimes match the performance (and was close the rest of the time) of the GTX 980 ti....
It will probably be closer to "the new GTX 2070" will fall somewhere between the performance of the GTX 1070 ti and the GTX 1080.

The BIG kicker in the equation is going to be the move to GDDR 6 away from GDDR 5 / 5x - and if GDDR 6 latency is more like GDDR 5 or more like 5x levels - and which speed grade of GDDR 6 ends up on each card.

What WOULD be a big shock is if anything OTHER THAN FE cards show up before about June.

Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding.
I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

I wouldn't put to much faith into the 2000 series as being a huge performance jump, they will just do what intel did to amd.   Sit on the performance lead while expanding in other areas while producing marginally better hardware.

Well if you watch some GPU manufacturing process video on youtube, you'll see that they assemble lot of GPU each day. I think that this is an intentional shortage to rise the prices and maximize profits. Stock will be refurbished every time they see that demand equals last month demand to match last month prices and stabilize the profit.
For every profit-company the goal is to have maximum demand prossible so the offer can at least matches it but never outmatches it. It's market golden rule: Demand over offer.

Yeah I have to say I was unprepared for this inability to get a card.  Having to check every second to find stock to buy an item that costs 1k?  Absurd.

After reading 33 pages, I can't still any answer, but it is clearly a "No" there is no ETA, but I found that "Notify Me" is not working for me, I did already that for FTW2 for 1070Ti and 1080 and got no emails sadly :(

Good luck on getting the cards you want, guys.  I hope we get a heads up in this forum before the stock is posted.  That sure would be a good use of this place.

EU stock 1070ti/1080/1080ti Eta?

This keeps getting asked. Jacob doesn't seem to respond to posts here so I would recommend going through other channels. Perhaps a phone call but not sure if anyone can give you an answer on ETA.

Or they sold all what was produced at least 2 years (except 1030) and they are on holiday for now. Evga will not answer but Nvidia wrote me by facebook. They have no ETA for EU

How often do new cards get released on the website? Every week? Random? I saw some come up yesterday, and read about the rat race to get them.

Do they normally release then at the same time or at random times during the day?

Last week there was releases every day I believe. Different models each day (SC2, FTW3, etc. ). The timings are random but seem to be more towards mid-afternoon, like 2-4 pm.

Well I will try to join the race then. I saw yesterday they were around 6pm. D
Given GPU boost, I don't really care which version I get as long as I get one. Prices on Ebay way too much right now.
It sounds like 1080's stay around longer, so maybe I will try for those if I cannot get 1080ti.
I am very grateful to EVGA for offering this opportunity. Do other resellers do the same?

Micro Center, Best Buy, Newegg and those kind of stores have been empty from what I have seen with the exception of a few times where Micro Center and Newegg have suddenly posted stock. I have the usual email notification but they go out of stock too fast to have the email be of any use. If you're asking about other's like Asus or MSI then I'm not sure. I know I have seen some Asus STRIX in stock at Micro Center but I can't say if they are doing an equivalent release of stock like EVGA is doing here. I have also found that other models from MSI and Asus have been easier to come across the last month. EVGA cards are proving to be much harder to get a hold of in the great GPU drought of '17/'18.

The "Elite Membership" seems to push towards Miners IMO as they are the most likely to already have multiple EVGA products.  I understand you guys are trying to get them in the hands of gamers, but I'm not sure the 'Elite membership' is going to solve that.  Maybe just limit it to 1 card per 2-3 months at a specific address?

Save +300 plus and wait for Jacob to list the cards one at a time.. ftw3 seems to have been listed every time he's listed cards.

Just gota be on the forums often.. I've managed to catch him on the forum listing them within the first minute quiet a few times but only tried to order a card on one night and scored.

Congrats.  I'm trying to score a Hydro Copper of some sort, but would certainly purchase a FTW3 at retail and add the waterblock as well.

With prices the way they are, I've considered an Xp, but by the time I add a waterblock and backplate, that would be quite expensive.  Was hoping to get a 1080ti with waterblock in the 850-950 range.

Don't think he's ever listed a hydro version card up for sale this whole time he's been listing cards. Just the hybrid models for liquid cooling..

Though one could grab a hydro copper block at evga for it as well or an ek or other block and swap the hybrid cooler if wanted.

For elite members there's 2 hydro copper blocks for sale.

Yeah, I know there are some that are EM-only, but I'm just curious as to what happens when you have EM access and actually click through to try to buy one. I'd like to contribute to the community, but also don't want to feel like I would spam my way to 100. It'd be nice to have some kind of historic loyalty option, too, as I've owned and registered 4 cards over the past decade, along with a couple mobos.

Haven’t bought a single card for mining in 3 months. As cards burn out I simply remove from rig and wind down. At 1,300-1,400+ I don’t know of any configuration, however optimized, that can make that profitable. Most forums I’m looking at and own personal experience says these cards (except maybe ftw / kingpin) simply don’t last more than a year running flat out 24/7.

Miners who can do math are not buying at these prices.

It sucks, but even taking mining out of the equation - gpu prices are on a permanent upside reset. Not as high as they are now, but 20-30% higher than last year for same card msrp.

FTW / kingpin are good value because they are built to last a while. Well worth the premium.

I used to mine. Now I compute.
