Did you use notepad, C&P the app info in post 743.
Save as app_confix.xml   all files. Should be good to go.

The cache I was talking about is under options network, download, days of work.

Oh yeah, do not use Edge Explorer , as I got errors, I used Internet Explorer 11...or any other you like..

see the image above - and i used chrome - so I am really lost as to why it ain't working

No idea what I did different except delete all work units, suspend the program, - then add the xml - restart boinc, allow new work, resume, hit read config files and it is working - thanks all - never had to do all of that but it works!!!!!!!!!!

Great news Robby, sometimes computers are just against us.... happened to me many times...

Am sure we all have had our own issues along the way.

I had 3 running on my 1080Ti, trying 4 now, then I'll try 6.
If I can do 6 in less than twice the time to do 3, I'll stay with it.

I may shut a couple off during the warmest part of the day.
Then fire up extra over night when it cools off again.

Glad you got it running Robby!

No kidding because my output went from 6 concurrent gpus to 12 without much time loss in processing. What did it was I had to delete every single work unit - not allow work - then put the file in the folder - crank it up and that did it - I have never had to clear work units to get an app_config to work before but hey - it works - I got it and thanks for sticking with me - I was starting to feel really stupid

I gotta run but will experiment more this evening-

Quick question.. Are you running any CPU tasks, or just GPU only??

I am keeping it at 3 tasks, 4 ran fine, 6 was more than double 3.

No CPU milkyway tasks, I have WCG task running.

I raised it to 4 again, seems ok to me.

WCG is set to run a few different projects.
I should just go for my 50 year badge. I am getting closer and closer to it.

4 tasks in 5min is not too bad for the 1080Ti I guess.
3 in 3:45

Yeah I would do that - I was just giving you some grief

So with my 1080 Hybrids are you recommending going to 4 and if so should I leave the cpu at .1?

ps 2 of my cards are 980ti - one is classy

I don't know, for me the way I looked at it, it added the same amount of time it took the others.
I know 6 added 20 seconds extra, guess 4 is my limit. Not going to try 5

I just changed it from .1 to .5 CPU per task
Will see if it makes any difference. I do not think it will.
Will post back in a half hour, going to let it run a bit and see

It just hot 20% at 1 min mark, so it would be 5 min to finish.
It was 5 min at .1 and 5 at .5
I know its only one unfinished task, but it seems it will make no difference.

EDIT finished at 4:58 otheres look about the same
I will set it back to .1 and use the CPUs for WCG

Also CPU % load did not change at all.

When I ran Milkyway on my dual R9 280x rig, seemed like 3 tasks per GPU was the optimal (those cards have a little more FP64 performance than any other "consumer" card ever, it's sad that AMD didn't carry Tahiti over into the R9 3xx series).

 I remember trying 1, 2, 3, and 4, and IIRC 4 gave worse results vs 3.

Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding.
I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

Maybe everyone needs to throw their CPU's into the mix??

I have 140 CPU cores thrown in from the start, plus my 12 GPU's.
Let's try to keep our 3rd place
