The 1080 has a DVI connection that will not take my DVI to VGA adapter
My BOINC systems use VGA monitors, so I'll have to fit it in some place as a 2nd unit.
Want to put it in with my 1080Ti but my soundplasterZ is there.
I have to remove the Z and put in PCI soundblaster to make room, was going to do it anyway, it has a nice front panel 1/4 jack
I want to use to hook up the guitars to. But been busy with "car" stuff.
Got to look at the DVI connection in the basement and see, not all DVI are alike. PITA
Robby, thanks for the offer, I'll pass. The 1060 is too much power for my system to handle!

Just looked, we are only 120k ahead of 4th place team, they were over 500k last night when I posted.
I don't think we can hold them off.
It's ok if we don't, can't win them all.

I've just added 4 more tasks to the 5 I was doing and when I got home and started the 980ti rig the original 80 bunkers were still there, so off they went.
All of this may hold off OCUK for another hour or 2.

Yup, that's what their forums were saying.... Oh well 4th appears to be in the bag....... With that said I can slow my roll down some too, back my GPUs off the rev limiter a bit and cruise in to the finish at a safe speed.

I don't think any current production GPU has a DVI connector with analog signals any more - that's what you need for those cheap "DVI to VGA" adapters to work, the ones with the "extra 4 pin holes" around the ground spade. Oldest cards I have that HAVE those connectors are all Maxwell generation, 750ti 950 and 960. Best bet any more is go HDMI to VGA adapter - they're cheap enough I've ended up getting sent a couple as "free gift" toss-ins from Newegg on 2 of my recent GPU purchases, and most CURRENT monitors have a HDMI input for when your old VGA-input monitors finally die (yeah, I've still got those around too, even several TUBE-based ones 'cause they still work well).
Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding. I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

Finally! Internet just came back.. Florida, not even hit by a hurricane: 3 feet of standing water from only a few inches of rain in a 24 hour period, TV and Internet goes down for over 24 hours. Was sitting on like 300 tasks ready to submit.. unable to get more for at least 12 hours

My GTX980TI and the Titan-Xm still use the old DVI to VGA adapters.
The 1080 and 1080Ti, nope.
Its alright, come Fall I hope everything will be moved around and sorted out.
The adapters have the extra 4 pins by the spade, the card only has the spade.
I'll get some HDMI to VGA adapters to have on hand if needed.

The next sprint will be announced in under 2 hours, so I did a little recap of the sprint season so far. We are in League 2 with 26 other teams. 1-Yoyo 5th 2-Einstein 3rd 3-NumberFields 5th 4-WCG 8th 5- Moo! Wrapper 1st 6- Rosetta 4th 7- SETI 4th 8- LHC 5th 9- Collatz 3rd 10- Asteroids 4th 11- NFS 3rd 12- Milkyway 4th And 2 more medals came back from the engravers. Good luck in the upcoming sprint ya'll!

Haha... I read the time wrong for the start. Been crunching and submitting them all night and today. Oh well, I guess there's worse things than doing a little extra for the marathon part at least. -- I haven't had any issue getting tasks, all machines are fully utilized with pogs jobs.
