$1,499 puts this card up there with Firepro and Quaddro cards.
I'm fairly certain these are pre-order hikes, but expect it to be close to GTX690.

You could probably render Pixar quality animations right from your machine at that point
I vote for some variants of CG animated films to be left as an *.exe file so we can render them ourselves in our machines, like one giant synthetic benchmark.

Screw rendering.  Three 670's can't push my res.  Nor can 2 classifieds.  I "need" better cards....  I'd do three of these if they were 799 ea.

How quickly do Waterblocks come out for new cards?  I am thinking of getting a Titan, possibly 2 of them, but I run a full Waterloop and would like to put them on Water from the get go.  So just curious based on past releases, how long does it normally take for Waterblocks to be made.

Re:First NVIDIA GeForce Titan 780 Performance Numbers Revealed 2013/02/13 23:09:54 (permalink)
"...Preliminary results show that in 3DMark Fire Strike (Extreme), GTX Titan scores 4870. According to our own testing, this would put the part some 500 points (10%) behind two GeForce GTX 680s in SLI mode. Given that a single GTX 680 achieves around 3000 points, almost 1900 points fewer than GTX Titan. Bear in mind this is still not enough to beat a single GeForce GTX 690.

You can expect an in-depth review from the usual suspects, which allegedly all received three cards for SLI testing. Given that a single card will go for about 10% less than a GTX 690, we're talking about some serious Benjamins. The boards, at least at the beginning - will only be available through ASUS and EVGA in the respective markets. But don't expect that this card will become a mainstream product. Allegedly, less than 10,000 will be made. In any case - we'll know more next week..."

So that thet can back away from their statement that tyey wont be pricing the flagship single chip card above 650 . Remember what they said about how they learned from the 280 launch?

Maybe it has very bad yields otherwise, but yeah I agree I think it should be released with the full 2880 Kepler CUDA Cores, no more castrations!

Well, I can understand disabling 1 SMX for yields. But don't limit the amount sold to consumers to 10,000.

Well that is still a lot more than the amount off EVGA GeForce GTX 295 Red Editions that were made hehe, there were only 500 GTX 295 Red Editions made in total xD 10.000 cards is quite a bunch, remember how rare the GTX 590 was, and still there are plenty to find on ebay same for the ASUS MARS & ARES things, so I think it will be alright.

the GTX 780 should also be nearing unless this is the GTX 780? Makes me wonder what happened to GK114-400-A1 heh.

I hope that the ones willing to pay such a high price know that the only reason the price is so high is because people like you who are willing to pay for it

We as consumers speak with our wallets and right now we're saying we'll pay any price you set no matter how big or small the performance increase is

Yeah, more then double that for two of them if the reported $1,499 price per card is true.

No I am perfectly happy to wait until they come down from there.... when the 680's were released they were hard to find.  I had to pay 50 bucks over list for my first one.  I'd do that again, but that's it.

nVidia, why you limit best GPU???
All businesses require an absolute guaranteed return-on-investment prior to the decision to invest in anything new.  It isn't that nVidia is limiting deliberately just to offend anyone, they already know there aren't even 10,000 of people that actually want Titan at $1000+ each over a certain time frame.  The extreme enthusiast segment isn't that big.
Gold Leader

If the rumor that AMD is delaying the retail HD8000's out to this fall is true, then don't count on a full GTX700 series launch until then; where is the threat to the GTX600's?  Titan is priced outside of all typical price ranges, virtually protecting nVidia's current portfolio of GTX600's against any combination of HD7000.

That said, I don't buy the delay rumor.

It just seems silly to even make a product in such a low quantity.  This must be some similar PCB to the 700 series.  10M in revenue isn't much for a company the size of Nvidia..... is it?

All I need is some one to take my 4 SUPER 680 classifieds off my hands so I have room in my rig for 3 titans!!!!!!!!!

Classifieds are so fast esp at the 1400mhz core and 7200mhz ram that It might take 3 titans to match the performance I am getting.

The problem with buying EVGA is their stuff is SOOO good that it is hard to know if you should upgrade...

CONGRATS on making the Classified with EVBOT as your masterpiece is competition for the $900 Titan monster!!!!

Aggressor Prime Well, I can understand disabling 1 SMX for yields. But don't limit the amount sold to consumers to 10,000.

There couldn't be a more "niche" product than this, and it isn't designed for general consumption. It's a showcase item meant to "show off" the tech as did the Ultra for the G80's programmable shaders, and the loss of an SMX is the only thing keeping the chip from becoming a $3500 parallel marvel.

point is, they dont get much for ROI on those cars.
Nividia, whatever money they lose on the titan, would be offset by the 660s.

They haven't announced it by being Titan's nor they haven't announced that it's in the works. It's normal though for samples to be sent to waterblock makers, but as normal is for those makers to have signed and actually follow NDA, so until 18 feb there probably will be no clarification on that. And it's given that most LC vendors make one block for current top Nvidia/ATI cards of reference design, so no drama on that too.

The reason these cards are going to be limited release is probably because they can throw the gk110 chips in a tesla card and sell it for $3000+
