Doesn't the GPU Tech conference start in March? March 18th? Nvidia will be there, maybe that is when it will be released. Just been reading and it would make more sense to showcase and present it then rather than February.

gutcheck PLEASE BE TRUE: http://videocardz.com/395...eased-on-february-18th Launched in limited quantity Hopefully this does not mean altogether. I do like the sounds of the supposed resemblance to the 690 though

I don't ...
"GeForce GTX Titan Release Date The GTX Titan will be launched in a very limited quantity, only some reviewers will get the cards. Actually, each of them will receive three cards for 3-way SLI review. Card will be paper-launched on February 18th, while first reviews should appear a day later, which is normal for NVIDIA — they usually release cards on Tuesdays and Thursdays."
I was really hoping to get 2 of these, especially if the have the metalic finish. If that article is true, I'll have to spend my money elsewhere.
I'm building a new rig, been doing the case modifications for the last month, have all the hardware needed except for mobo and GPU's , been holding out for such a release.
New system will be a very nice upgrade over my current rig hosting a single 5850, I also plan on stepping up to 1600p from my current 1920x1200.
I was really looking forward to a "limited" production card similar to the mars release, limited as in a thousand or three.
If this does not hit the stores this month I guess I'll wait until prices drop a lil more on the current gen cards.

But GTX680 Classified was still a 680, and part of a larger pool of cards which increased the chances they were in stock at all. Titan is coming off as more rare than an Asus MARS or an Intel Skulltrail type of product, it will be a one-off without a successor and most likely EVGA may not make one. It will be expensive and hard to get, so everyone better have the funds and get ready to purchase at official launch. I'm guessing that could be why it is paper launching first, to get people ready to drop from $1100 to $3500 depending on pre-order or whatever.

I'm not excited for about the Titan 780 for the same reasons I wasn't excited over the Mars 2 card when I had GTX 580 SLI setup. There is a certain pride in getting the best bang for your buck and these show case grand stander graphic cards don't make me feel good about myself if I spent my hard earn coin on them.

You are right Lephron, Even though it seems more realistic that this card exists.... its more realistic I won't get one lol If it is $900, I say fair. If its more than that I just dont see the value aside some review site using three in SLI for some e-peen reviews. This has me thinking the 7xx series may in fact be delayed as well? Why would Nvidia release this, but if its a tiny run intended for the 1% then i guess its OK.

They receive a complete card from NVIDIA and stick it in a EVGA box. Anyways, where is the Titan sub-forum?

From what I'm hearing, Titan may have a higher minimum frame rate since each GPU in GTX690 is slower and only uses 2GB of Vram. It is theoretically ready for 4K displays, but yeah, wait for reviews.

I doubt the "limited quantity" remark, as far i heard it depends on the market and where you are if you feel it is paperlaunch or be abel to get cards at releaseday. As far i read scandinavia will have a couple of thousands cards at releaseday but limited to two or three loyal brands . Rest simular to 690 release. Will for sure get 3 of thoose goodies if price turns out the be the expected 900 EUR/USD as i dont count Maxwell to be mutch if any better 2014. Now i only need a WC block to it and i and good to go.

Some of the reported numbers do not add up, but I will provide you with what we do know and the numbers that should come from that knowledge. Original figures taken from here: http://wccftech.com/nvidi...aunches-18th-february/ What we "know": 14 SMX @ 875MHz 2688 Shader Processors 224 Texture Mapping Units 48 Render Output Units 6GB 384-bit GDDR5 @ 6008MHz (Cannot be 512-bit as that would require either 4GB or 8GB of GDDR5, not 6GB) Single GK110 Core, 7.1 Billion Transistors, 28nm Process, 521mm^2 Die Size, 250W TDP, PCIe 3.0 x16 Interface, February 18 Paper Launch, February 25 Hard Launch, $899 Launch Price What we can calculate from this data: GigaPixels/s = # of Render Output Units (48) * Clock Speed (0.875GHz) = 42GP/s GigaTextures/s = # of Texture Mapping Units (224) * Clock Speed (0.875GHz) = 196GT/s Single Precision GFLOPS = 2 * # of Shader Processors (2688) * Clock Speed (0.875GHz) = 4704GFLOPS Double Precision GFLOPS = ??? because nVidia likes to artificially restrict this on their GeForce line. Their formula for restriction on this product is unknown. RAM Bandwidth = Bus Width in bits (384) / 8 * Memory Speed (6.008GHz) = 288.384GB/s Roughly speaking, with just Shader Processors * Clock Speed in mind, the GeForce Titan should be 52% faster than the GeForce GTX 680 and 20% slower than the GeForce GTX 690. Still, considering that this is a single GPU for a little less than the GeForce GTX 690, I think the price is justified. You are also free from any micro stuttering issues that may creep in with SLI. And if you want more performance, you have the option of adding 4 of these, you know, for those 4k displays and Crysis.

Aggressor PrimeSingle Precision GFLOPS = 2 * # of Shader Processors (2688) * Clock Speed (0.875GHz) = 4704GFLOPS Double Precision GFLOPS = ??? because nVidia likes to artificially restrict this on their GeForce line. Their formula for restriction on this product is unknown. RAM Bandwidth = Bus Width in bits (384) / 8 * Memory Speed (6.008GHz) = 288.384GB/s You want the VRAM bandwidth in gbit/s not gbyte/s as gbit/s = gflops. 2307.072 Gbit/s Also, it is best not to include FMA in GFlops until after you include Gbit/s. For single precision: It is 192 32-bit ALUs per SMX. 192 * 14 = 2688 32-bit ALUs * 0.875 GHz = 2352 GFlops 2352 is greater than 2307.072 thus the actual GFlops are 2307.072 without FMA and 4614.144 with FMA. For double precision: It is 64 64-bit ALUs per SMX. 64 * 14 = 896 64-bit ALUs * 0.875 GHz = 784 DP GFlops(1568 SP GFlops because it is lesser than Gbit/s it is not bottlenecked). 784 DP GFlops without FMA and 1568 DP GFlops with FMA. GTX Titan: 2307 GFlops/784 DP GFlops + 4614.144 GFlops/1568 DP GFlops GTX 690: 1538.048 GFlops/234.24 DP GFlops + 3076.096 GFlops/468.48 DP GFlops Single-Precision Workloads: GTX Titan by 1.5x(50%) Double-Precision Workloads: GTX Titan by 3.35x(235%) Supposed Cost: GTX Titan - $1499 GTX 690 - $999 The Titan will only be 20% slower in SLI/Multi-GPU configurations in single-precision. While the Titan will only be 10% slower in a Quadsetup of SLI/Multi-GPU of the 690s in double precision.

I just love it when it's new card time, every one gets into a frenzy and argues over which rumor is true and not. Then said card comes out and every moans and gripes about the specs. Fact is there is a good chance it will not meet your expectations that has been built up.

$1,499 puts this card up there with Firepro and Quaddro cards. That's a painful price point for a single card. Lol I can't stop thinking of how EPIC, 4way SLI would look though. You could probably render Pixar quality animations right from your machine at that point
