Johnny_Utah 1.) Extra VRAM (6GB is excessive but I find myself needing more and more with 7680x1440) You'll need 6GB for future games even at lower resolutions, that has been the trend over the years; higher resolutions only lowers the frame rates; hence the power of Titan. Johnny_Utah 2.) It appears that we can add voltage? (someone correct me) [ source] Johnny_Utah 4.) 40 percent more powerful than my 680's While using 30% more electricity, at stock and with overclocking with stock voltage; once you raise voltage that gain is gone. Johnny_Utah Price is a bit high but hey, we pay for new things when there is no competition. I'm glad you are being mature about the price. I just don't get those that hoped for the best and didn't plan for the worst, only to have the audacity to suggest nVidia doesn't know what they are doing.

Thanks Lehpron for the source for adding voltage. I also snipped this tidbit from PCper http://www.pcper.com/revi...rclocking-and-GPGPU/GP "Even better: NVIDIA is going to once again allow for the ability to exceed the base voltage to another unknown maximum. This marks a return of overvolting cards (at least with the TITAN) but when asked NVIDIA said this feature would not be re-enabled on the GTX 600-series. For those that are curious, NVIDIA gave us some more information on how overvolting will work. It must be disabled by default and the user must acknowledge a warning message before enabling it in software. It can be persistent across reboots of the PC and then the max voltage of the GPU can be adjusted by the end user. This is completely optional though and it will be up to the card vendors to enable it. I would think that finding a GTX TITAN without support for overvolting would be impossible but as we see future card releases with GPU Boost 2.0 technology it is something we'll keep an eye on." Temp is now a variable on which the voltage increase/overclock will be based upon, making the water-block a necessity for anyone who wants to push these cards to the limit.

Johnny_Utah I like this card for a couple of reasons: 1.) Extra VRAM (6GB is excessive but I find myself needing more and more with 7680x1440) 2.) It appears that we can add voltage? (someone correct me) 3.) OC is tied to temp making waterblock even MORE useful 4.) 40 percent more powerful than my 680's 5.) Might be a crunching monster for us. Price is a bit high but hey, we pay for new things when there is no competition. It would be AWESOME for AMD to release a counter to this but I know things aren't that great in camp RED right now. Hopefully in the future they will be so we, the consumer will win. 100% agree with Johnny as usual As I look to add 2 more 2560x1440 monitors to my setup this will be the way to go. Added to the fact that these should be powerhouses for DC projects all but solidifies it for me.

Rei86 Hawaiiboi808 gutcheck Man at 1k this makes choosing between two 690's and two titan's really hard. What would you guys do? At least with Titan I could eventually go three way SLI but this is kinda expensive. You need to take something into consideration before asking that question: Performance of 1 Nvidia GTX Titan is almost equivalent or a little higher than a 690. From the looks of Nvidia's dodgy graphs a GTX690 > GTX Titan. If you're using a single monitor like solution and you only have a single PCIe slot the 690 is the way to go. We've seen what a quad set up can do and nothing has changed. The GTX Titan does not change the values of the 690, 680, 670 and 660Ti. What it does is slip in between the 690 and 680. Now when it comes to multi monitor solutions however the Titan is the way to go, and with previews stating that its a monster GPGPU card its also another plus to it if you do a lot of computing. Ill admit my priorities are pretty messed up considering I am getting this card to see how much I can max out Dark Souls which does not have SLI compatibility on a single U3011. So that demonstrates an exception to your first statement.

You need to take something into consideration before asking that question: Performance of 1 Nvidia GTX Titan is almost equivalent or a little higher than a 690. One could argue they provide almost the same level of performance, but the Titan is only using "1 GPU." That being said, could you expect Nvidia to have the price tag of the GTX Titan less than a 690. No. That's part of some peoples' QQ about this graphic card. $1000 price tag is ridiculous for a single gpu monster. It seems ridiculous, but you're not paying for how many gpus are on the PCB. You're paying for it's performance. That being said, you're limited with two 690s in a way. With 3-way SLI titans, totaling above $3000.00 plus, is equivalent to almost having 3 690s in your rig in SLI. Personally, I'd wait it out. Demand would probably be high at first when the goods hit the shelf, but you don't know the qwarks of this new graphic card until 3rd party benches do reviews and videos about it. I'd still consider the Asus Ares II over it since that ROG videocard is still dominating the 690 in just about every game. It's true that the Nvidia GTX Titan is in a class of its own, but the Ares II can still give it some competition, "theoretically." AMD would have to adapt, and make a similar GPU of their own that does the same performance of a Tahti XT x2 equivalent on a single GPU like the Titan. The ares II is not something I would want. You need to have rad space and it's fuggly

ARES II??? I would change for Titan immediately too. ARES II is two cards in package. That is not card. Chip on chip AMD is dead like rabbit... They can talk Titan is prof, that is for architects, engineers, aliens, extraterrestrial... if he crunch Crysis 3 with single chips who care... This happen once in 10 year. And Titan will stay fastest single and next years and who know how long and next series will be 500-600$ little less power than Titan and he will cost in that time 800-850$. I'm relly sorry because NVIDIA refused to give people this like they deserve for 600-650$ two-three months after series 6xx. At the end they and locked their "fastest single series", now people with money only can OC and raise voltage. But ...

I understand how they say for a user like me (26" 1200p monitor) just get a 680 or a 690, but damn this Titan is sexy. I deserve it after a 4 year wait no? Maybe I can get dual yamakasi 30" monitors to justify it lol I think a user who posted eariler in this thread is right about another factor of this card over a 690 or any card is that its minimum frame rates will probably be very impressive in comparison. I cant wait to see some real benches.

Dell U3014 are the best computer displays on the market IMO....altho I guess they are not going to be released for another week or so. Improvements from the Dell U3011 include an upgrade of the dynamic contrast ratio from 100,000:1 to 2,000,000:1, an unknown improvement in the Adobe RGB gamut coverage up from 96%....now at maybe 99%?, and it also has an LED backlit screen now. From what I read all other improvements are negligible. If they upgraded the refresh rate to 120Hz I would sell my Dell U3011 and upgrade. Instead I will wait for the next release in prob another 3 yrs. http://www.engadget.com/2...3h-and-u3014-displays/

They wont do that until a month or two before they are going to refresh the cards in any given market segment. Or the only other way is if AMD brings competition by lowering their prices.
