I bet the nvidia guys that have had these in their machines for weeks now are rolling in the floor over this thread.

For those who aren't getting it, let's hope Nvidia at least has some ace-in-the-hole drivers coming out with them to do stuff like boost firestrike scores. (and many even some real games too)

I'm having driver issues with my cards ATM and I'm getting little angerier by the minute...but the impulsive side of me has the CC out and ready to pull the trigger on the GTX Titan x 2 or 7970 x 2

Guys, isn't Feb 18th just a paper launch?  If the reports of limited edition are true then I don't think Titan would go up for sale immediately since nVidia would want to get additional potential customer attention since not everyone reads rumors.  At least that would make sense to me.  Plus we need to see reviews, the last thing anyone should do is drop money on a hunch, that is just stupid.  Don't any of you dare blame nVidia when you expected more.  Know what Titan is capable of before you get it.

I'm just saying that its gonna be loud because almost all blower designs have been loud.  Heck the central fan of the 690 is loud and the Classifieds are like a C130 just running its engine at Yokota AFB.
I recognize that, but I also tend to believe that if someone will be spending $900+ for one, let alone more, either:
  1. They will adjust the fan profile to their preferences and tolerate it based on pending enjoyment of game performance.
  2. Their system is already loud, making Titan(s) a drop in the bucket.
  3. Use multi-channel speaker system or headphones to drown the extra noise out.
  4. Planning to get into liquid cooling negating the worry on stock fan noise.
  5. Overall used to loud graphics card fans and don't give a rat's ass.

I doubt the Titan's will OC well at all.  You'll probably have little headroom but out of the box it should be some of the best stuff as far as a single GPU goes.  
Aside from random 'luck of the draw' iterations, overall I agree; especially since the base clock is reported to be just 102MHz above stock Tesla K20X's GK110.  Like I said above, it is one of many 'gotchas' where Titan isn't as rosy as those intending on getting it make it out to be.  I'd end up with a grin if the voltage is equally limited like GK104, further preventing flexibility.
 
At 837MHz base w/384-bit, that is just 45.6% faster than GTX680 reference; I don't know what to say other than it might not beat GTX690 (in games with SLI support) without an overclock to around 1GHz on the core.

I am not sure about the answer to this, but it would make sense since many contracts for NDA's have when the NDA expires and not a time of day. Although this sounds like it's not been the case for Nvidia, ever.
