You need to finish 10 smp wus with your passkey first before getting the bonus points. After that you need to maintain an 80% success rate

Thank you very much.  I forgot about the 10 SMPs.  I'm assuming that they mean bigadv SMPs which I'm close to getting.  I really should have flushed those 2684s.   In any event, thanks for the info.

I will have to give this a try when I setup my next folding card. I don't know how hard it would be to do, but it would be nice to be able to control a remote rig. Something ao the line of BoincView.

This is beyond my current ability as a programmer, so don't expect to see this feature anytime soon.

I know when you right-click the icon in the notification bar (by the clock), there is an option to "stop all clients" and "start all clients".  On the main screen of the actual program there is a button for "start all clients" but not one to stop them all, you have to stop them manually.

Would it be possible to have the "start all clients" button toggle all clients on/off?

Thanks!

Jedi I am really digging your program. I am having just one issue now though. I picked up a 3rd 470 last week and remounted all my cards. Now when I try to fold one of the ones I used to fold on pops up saying the whole its currently not supported reload the driver. I dont know what to do bc I have 2 of the exact same cards that fold just fine but one wont. I have tried reloading the drivers and if I pull the other cards out it folds just fine so any help would be nice.

Make sure you have the GPU3 client enabled for all of the GTX 470s. If you already have that set then adding -forcegpu nvidia_fermi might be needed. I really need to redo the client flag editor since the current one is a global setting that only applies to GPU2 clients. For now, if you want to add this flag you will need to manually edit client.cfg and add it in the extra_params= section.

Expect a new version with a redone flag editor at some time in the next week or so. When it ends up being released depends on how much time I have to work on it. Since I started college I have much less time to spend on this project.

Also, as for the comment above, I will see what I can do about the start/stop all button. I would have done this a long time ago but I can't decide on how to handle a situation where some clients are running and some are not. Perhaps I will just add an option to configure this.

Ok thanks ill try adding that flag when I get home. I had selected them all to run gpu3 and still nothing so hopefully the flag fixes it

Been trying for 2 days now (again) to get my 460 folding with no success.  Tried the fermi flags, adding to exceptions in firewalls/AV scanners, pretty much every suggestion on the net to no avail.  No matter what I do,  I get the
CoreStatus = 63 (99)
 + Error starting [link=mailto:Folding@Home]Folding@Home[/link] core.
It also constantly says  Gpu species not recognized  even when using the forcegpu nvidia_fermi flag.  Seems I'm the only one left that can't get a 460 to fold.   For the record,  the SMP client is working just fine which is why I can't figure out what is stopping the 460 from working.

How exactly are you adding the forcegpu flag? If you are adding it to the Tracker itself it won't work obviously. I just released a new beta version with support for forcegpu nvidia fermi. It will be released as a full stable version once it has been tested.

Here are a few screenshots of the latest dev build:

The goal behind this new config page design was to move all the settings to 1 place. The separate GPU3 config and Heat Control forms no longer exist, as they were moved to the main config form. Keep in mind that this is not a final version, so feedback is much appreciated. If there is anything you would like to see changed about this new layout now is the time to say so. Once I release the stable version with this new design I don't really want to redo it again.

Is there a way that you can change the default install location? That would be nice for those running ssd's.

The Tracker has no default install location. You can put it anywhere on your computer and it will set up the clients in the same folder. You can also move the entire folder even after it downloads the clients without any problems.

How the Tracker works folder-wise:

1. All configuration settings, clients, stats, ect are stored in subfolders in the same folder that the EXE is in
2. Since the Tracker uses paths relative to the main EXE, moving the entire folder doesn't affect it
3. You can copy/paste the entire Tracker folder to install it on another computer without losing any settings

3.15 Stable Released!

This version of the Tracker brings major improvements to the configuration process. The Heat Control and GPU3 Config windows have been merged into the main Configuration window. This release also adds CPU detection, XML Status output, and per-GPU forcegpu with nvidia_fermi option. This release should also use less memory than 3.10 due to changes in the compiler settings.

EDIT: Updated to 3.15 with a quick bugfix. Force GPU settings now apply to the config client as well as the normal clients.

I am having a strange issue, I set up gpu0 figuring it was my 460 and gpu1 thinking it was my 9800 gtx not sure if it works this way or if it just uses what is available, at any rate I start gpu0 and were off but its running the 9800, ok so I config gpu1 to force fermi/gpu3 client and it shows + Error starting Folding@Home core. in the log, if I dont force it it pulls the driver error. so i tried the nvidia client it starts a project and shows in the display window the hardware being gtx460 but its running my 9800 and not my 460. any ideas what to do?

I downloaded the new Tracker app and I'm running it now.  I did notice two things that I wanted to mention:

- I selected the option to download the updated projects list.  The comment window says "Downloading updated projects list..." but I haven't seen a message saying it was complete, or if there was a problem.
- My SMP client is running at 100% load, however, all three of my 9800GTX+SC clients are maxing out at 75% load, where they would max out at 99% under the previous version.

Thoughts?

Thanks again for the great work... I really appreciate the "Stop All Clients" button on the main screen... woot!

If you didn't get an error message then the projects list update worked. That log message is only there to provide feedback that the input was received.

If you just updated from a previous version without changing settings then the load difference with your GPUs is most likely caused by something other than the Tracker. Unless you are using Heat Control then I don't see any way the Tracker could cause this behavior.

Nope, I don't use heat control.  I guess I'll try rebooting.  It's amazing what a reboot will fix sometimes.

Thanks for the quick reply!

EDIT:  YEP!  Reboot fixed it.  Sorry for the false alarm.  I'm a technical contractor, I should know better!

Hey Jedi,
Just pointed a "returning folder" to use your program after
he retried the systray version.  I think he was very pleased
with it for the short time we talked.  No problems at all.
Take care.

Re:FAH GPU Tracker V2 2010/10/03 11:33:45 (permalink)
Version 3.21 released!

This release introduces a long-requested feature: PPD monitoring!

The PPD monitoring in the Tracker does calculate bonus points in realtime, just like HFM.NET. So the PPD shown for the SMP client is the real PPD you are getting. It also keeps benchmarks, just like FahMon and HFM.NET. To delete the benchmarks for a specific client, go to Client -> [client name] -> Delete WU Benchmarks.

There are many other new features that go with this, like showing the current PPD in the tray icon text, showing TPF + WU ETA + time to deadline + PRCG in the client details viewer, and showing PPD in the client stats viewer.

There are also some important bugfixes in this release that correct problems in 3.15.

EDIT: updated to 3.21 with a few bugfixes

I haven't read through all 8 pages, but would it be possible to add a section in to set the affinity's for each client on start up so we don't have to use process lasso or other extra programs running in the back ground.  Just a thought.

Oh, can I ask a request - can you add a confirmation dialog box to the delete work unit menu?  I went to view files to check my config - missed, bumped my mouse and accidentally deleted the work unit!

Ouch

This is a simple thing to add and it makes sense. I will add a config option in the next version to ask on deleting a WU. Also, the Tracker won't delete a WU if the client is question is running. (you have to stop a client before you can delete the WU)

Re:FAH GPU Tracker V2 2010/10/06 06:44:03 (permalink)
Great, thanks.

On a side note, I added a new box 24 hours ago, and also used the chance to upgrade to the latest Tracker, since then I have had no bigadv on either machine - all standards.
I presume this is due to the bigadv drought, or the new machine having to qualify 10 units but I thought I would ask just in case there were anyone else with the same issue running Tracker..
