farinhir AlexisRO jedi95 This is the same install.bat used for the standard SMP client. How to: 1.Basically when it comes up the first step is to enter the account name of an admin account on your system (if you are and admin just hit enter to accept the current account name) 2.Once you have done that, you will have to enter the password to the account you specified in the first step twice (it will not show anything being entered, this is normal). 3. If you completed the first 2 steps correctly you should see "If you see this twice, MPI is working" 2 times. If i don't have a password to my account, what should i type in? I tried leaving it blank but it gave me an error. User password is required for the windows SMP client to work. The easiest thing (if you are on windows seven at least) is to create a password for your login. Then press "windows key+r" to open a run dialog. Type "control userpasswords2". Untick the "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" option. It will then have you select a user to log in automatically. Choose the one you want to fold with and enter the password you chose. It should now login automatically. This will bypass the annoying login screen, while allowing you to SMP fold. As for the sticky mentioned by taniquetil, I have not found it. Can anyone point me to it so that I can verify what it says myself? Thank you! That did the trick and my CPU is folding also. Also big thanks to jedi95 for all your work!

farinhir As for CC, I just looked at the goal. I think we will only be running CC for a day or so, so I am all out. I thought it was going to be much longer than 2 to 5 days. So all I have to do (now that I have signed up on the other thread) is have "automatically fold for EVGA during CC" ticked and I will be fine right? That will work, but you won't get bonus points for the A3 WUs because the automatic option does not apply the passkey. If you want to get bonus points for those WUs you have to disable the auto CC option and manually enter the name/team/passkey. This was done for security reasons as the passkey must be kept away from other teams. It is possible for me to change this in the middle of the challenge, but I will leave that decision up to the ones organizing the team. farinhir Also, the CPU folding, is it bigadv or something? I am only on an e8400@3.73Ghz. I tried to do SMP folding with 2 cores only to have it sit there for 40 or so minutes without even advancing once (might have been 30). The WU was an A3 with around 1300 PPD IIRC. Is it possible for me to run that with only -advmethods flagged, not bigadv. Might be nice for us to be able to set command line switches for each client. Just a thought. You can choose whether to make then tick boxes or command line fields. You might even pull them from an xml file. Just my 2c. By default, the SMP client will run on all cores using -advmethods in order to receive A3 WUs. Since I see no reason not to run the A3 WUs over the A1s, I didn't add any option to the GUI to remove this. If you want to manually remove it you can edit the client.cfg file in the SMP client folder. As for switching the flags on clients, I have added an option to set the -forcegpu flag from the GUI to the next version. I am not sure I can get the next version out before the CC because school will be consuming a lot of my time starting next week.

Odd. I should be able to run -advmethods fine (just a little slower than on VMware with my understanding). Oh well. I will see what an overnight run gives. Thanks for all your efforts. Please note that my suggestions are not a criticism of your work, but more my wishes (and perhaps some confusion as to why SMP was running slow on my system). Keep up the good work, and good luck with school.

I've been running FAH GPU Tracker V2 on a machine running Win 7 for a couple days now and it's working great. I have another machine running WHS I'd like to use it on as well. The client status says "Running" but it never actually starts a WU. Any ideas?

What client(s) are giving you this issue? (CPU, SMP, GPU, ect) 3. The LOG.txt file located in the root Tracker directory (make sure on the last Tracker run you tried to start one of the client(s) that were giving you trouble) 4. The FAHlog.txt from at least one client that is having this problem (if there is no FAHlog.txt in the client folder, then just make sure you post that this is the case) 5. Try starting one of the problem client(s) without any other clients running and check the task manager processes tab. List all processes that start with FAH (examples, FAH.exe, FAH_GPU.exe, ect) Make sure you also indicate which client you did this with.

When I run SMP in tracker... - FAH GPU Tracker v2.exe - FAH.exe - FAH_SMP.exe No core, no log file created... That's rather odd. The Tracker seems like it is starting the client program, but the client is not starting correctly. This is probably an issue with the container program (FAH_SMP.exe and FAH_CPU.exe are the container programs, FAH.exe is the actual CPU or SMP client) that allows the clients to run hidden. Right now, if I run the clients hidden without the container there is no way to close them properly. (This can cause loss of work among other problems) I honestly don't know how to fix this as it may be OS-specific and I have no way to test under Windows Home Server SP2. I have been working on a different method of running clients hidden that does not require container programs. This may fix your issue, but I have no idea when I will have this done. It is not likely this change will make it into version 2.7.

For those of you that have the CC option enabled, I intend to switch the Tracker over to EVGApes sometime on the 4th. Since the longest WUs that will be running are A3s, I figure 24 hours should be enough.

Thanks for making this program! Unfortunately I'm also unable to get a work unit, the icon in the tray shows SMP running but task manager is showing the processor at idle. I installed your program last night, originally I put it in my D:\Home\Documents folder. It started a WU but I then shut it down and moved it to my C:\Program Files folder (thought that would have been a better place for it). Now it's not working! I'm running Vista Home Premium SP2 32 bit. Triying to run the SMP client. Pixeldream Thanks for making this program! Log.txt file: <removed for length> The FAH processes running are FAH GPU Tracker V2.exe, FAH.exe, FAH_SMP.exe and FahCore_a3.exe (this last one flashes on and off in Task Manager) Could the problem be because I moved it? Very sorry for the length of this post. I really do want to contribute to this great cause though. Thanks in advance! Did you run install.bat in the SMP client folder again after moving the Tracker folder? If not, then this is the obvious problem. If you did run install.bat after moving it I recommend you go to Client -> SMP -> Delete WU, then delete all the FahCore files in the SMP folder. You should be able to start a new WU after that. Hopefully this solves your problem.

I just ran install.bat again (about 20mins ago). I left it for about 10mins and nothing seemed to be happening so I followed your other suggestion to delete the WU and fah_core file. Unfortunately it's still not running. Would it be an idea to remove the tracker and re-install it? How exactly would I do that? Appreciate your patience and help! : )

I have just enabled the CC mode for the Tracker. For those who have the CC option enabled in the settings the Tracker will switch all clients over to EVGApes starting with the next WU.

Jedi95: I think I found a bug in your client, but I'm not sure if it's just me. I can't get Oneunit mode to work properly. When I set the -Oneunit flag for one of my GPUs, it will still grab work after it's finished the current unit. Don't know if this issue is covered in the latest release. Also, why isn't this tool Stickied, mods?

Also, why isn't this tool Stickied, mods? Are you trying to set the -oneunit flag on the clients manually in the client.cfg files? If so, you need to use the oneunit option on the config page instead. The Tracker runs all clients with the -oneunit flag in order to know when they are done with a WU. The oneunit option in the config page simply tells the Tracker not to restart the client when it exits after completing a WU.

I got the graphics cards to fold great using this program. I had my folding smp working well with the stand alone app... however I just wanted to use this because it all in one and simple However, I can't get the cpu to fold. I ran the intall.bat in the folder but it still won't work? Do I need uninstal my old folder where i had it installed?

I have released version 2.61 BETA as a quick bugfix. It fixes an issue where changing the name/team/passkey while clients are running results in those clients not updating to the new settings. Restarting the Tracker would fix this problem. Also note that this issue does not affect the XML config mode or the auto CC config mode. This will be the first update using the new updater code in 2.6. Please report any problems with this update ASAP so that we don't lose EVGApes PPD.

I just disabled the CC 2010 mode, all clients should resume folding under the original config info on the next WU. Thanks to all that folded in the CC.

Is it possible to set the FAH_GPU_IDLE variable in a config file? I've tried adding .bat file containing the command set FAH_GPU_IDLE=20 in the \FAH GPU Tracker V2\GPU0 folder in the hopes of making it a local setting for that specific client, but so far no success. I'm hoping I can add the variable on a per-gpu basis (since one of my cards gets hotter than the other) I realize adding the variable into the tracker based on WU is something that will be difficult and time consuming, I'm trying to find a sort of middle ground. I know I can do it globally, I'm wondering how you were able to do it in the previous version of the GPU Tracker.

I know I can do it globally, I'm wondering how you were able to do it in the previous version of the GPU Tracker. I will be adding a full implementation of FAH_GPU_IDLE settings in the next few days. As of the 14th school is over for me so I now have the time to do this. The feature will have to following capabilities: - Set FAH_GPU_IDLE based on WU points value or project number - Independent settings for each GPU. - "Default" setting for any unknown WUs (also per GPU) Sorry this took so long to get to, but school significantly limited the time I had to work on projects like this. For recap, these are the things I am adding to 2.7: - Deactivated CC option (no need for this until next year) - Added heat control settings (FAH_GPU_IDLE) - Per-client Gaming Pause - Config page option for setting -forcegpu I will also look into adding an option later that allows modifying the heat control settings by time of day, but this will not be in 2.7. Davabled Feature Request: Would it be possible to setup an option to turn GPU folding on/off at night based on system time? I will look into adding this feature at some point. It would work like the Gaming Pause feature, and simply pause clients during specified times.

Edit - Mods please Sticky this. Such an awesome tool. Since I have a lot of time right now, I should be able to add it in 24-48 hours as long as it doesn't require major changes to the Tracker. Currently this is what I anticipate I will have to do to support GPU3: 1. Add new -forcegpu flag setting for Nvidia GF100. 2. Verify that the GPU3 client works correctly when running hidden. 3. Set the new version update to download the GPU3 client along with it 4. If there is some reason to run GPU2 after GPU3 comes out, I will add an option to pick which client to run
