Hi,

I have done the vbios update on my evga 3080 ftw3 ultra on normal bios side. Since the vbios update my pc refuses booting on normal bios. I have the red vga led on and stays blocked on start :/. It's even impossible to access the mobo bios on normal mode.
I honestly don't know what to do and i wonder if i should just rma it.
I don't know if the vbios update went good because i had no information (no completed successfully at the end and presicion x1 was not responding at the end).

I tried to flash it again but it didn't work and i almost lost the oc version (i had a blackscreen during the vbios update).

What shoud i do to be able to start again with normal bios ???? For info i  disabled the cmos and still not starting

that is a picture of precision x1 on oc bios (not updated)

Resize bar is off *

yeah seems the EVGA reisze bar bios doesnt work with some boards and card never inits with resize bar support turned on in the bios if you flip to the other bios and turn resize bar off. then car will boot fine with the new bios

Could be your problem- there are  specific steps in procedure to do this properly.
Updating the videocard firmware is the absolute last thing to do....

1)Confirm you have a compatible CPU & CPU chipset (see list below)
2)Confirm you have a compatible motherboard (see list below)
3(Update your motherboard SBIOS, if required, by installing an update from the manufacturer. 4)Then enable Resizable BAR support in your motherboard’s BIOS interface
5) Update to the latest GeForce Game Ready Driver (version 465.89 WHQL at the time of writing, released March 30th, 2021), or a later version
6) If you have a GeForce RTX 3060, you’re good to go. If you have a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, 3070, 3080, or 3090, then you may require an updated VBIOS
If you have a Founders Edition graphics card from NVIDIA, get your VBIOS update tool directly from our website. If you have a custom partner card, get the update tool from their site (see list below)
7)Verify Resizable BAR is enabled in the NVIDIA Control Panel (see instructions below)

My motherboard is compatible and my bios is compatible with resizebar (i have the option in the bios), but resizebar wasn't turn on in the bios. but i don't see what it has to do with a vbios update, i should be able to do it even without. My issue is not being able to use or not use resizebar but being able to use my normal bios side. I don't even know if the vbios update went well because of px1 bugs :/

on GA boards you turn on an option called "Address Above 4G" or something like that then the Resizeble BAR option will show up with the options disable and Auto

I finally found a way to repair it using this tuto : .
I disabled my card in the peripherics, I used nvflash instead of precision x1 and i switch before using it. I did not use the last bios for resizebar but the previous one and now i can use both of my switch (pfiou)

While using nvflash, the tool said that the bios installed was not good or not complete :/. I think it is the last time using precision x1 only had issues with it.

Just updated today with new bios for evga 3070 xc3 ultra using precision x1

resizable bar is now working for me.

Hello, how can I access the new bios for the 3070 xc3 ultra ?, I'm stuck with version 94.04.3A.40.5E (250W), and when I enter the px1 I don't get the option to update. Thank you.

I was in the same boat. Reviewing post #80, which links to the previous BIOS, I noted the formatting of the linked file name, copied it, and changed the last four characters to reflect the new, corrected BIOS. I can't post links because I'm new here, but preface this with https...cdn.evga.com/bios/30Series/3755V94043A8037.zip

By doing this, I was able to directly download the correct BIOS. I unzipped it, put it on the desktop, rebooted into Safe Mode, and double clicked it to flash from there. Over 20 years experience in the computer field taught me to follow precautions like this to avoid mishaps, and buggy software like Precision X1.

Anyway, it worked perfectly

So many people having problems, not getting video after vbios update, black screen, having to go back to older bios.
I have a 3080 xc3 ultra, but I think I'm gonna pass, getting about 5-10% performance in some select games is not worth the risk and the headache if things go south, and considering the shortage of gpu's we are going through, really not worth the headache. I updated my motherboard bios which adds resizable bar support and PX1 still does not recognize it (yellow sign), I'm not even attempting to vbios my gpu at this point until EVGA makes it safe.

GPU crashes now after updating, didn't before rebar update.  EVGA 3070 Ultra

No CSM. Not overclocking GPU.

Z490 Unify mobo, latest bios, latest nvidia driver.

EDIT: Just ran EVGA X1 1.1.1.8.3 and now REBAR doesn't even work.  Anyway to revert back to original bios before rebar lmao

Could use some help. Trying to update VBIOS for 3080 FTW3 ultra OC. Screen went black as expected but it won't come back on. It's been about 30 minutes. I pressed a few keys on the keyboard (which I read will exit the update and bring the screen back) but that isn't doing anything.

Should I restart my PC? Not sure what to do here...

Tried that version with EVGA 3080 FTW3 using the Rebar + XOC Bios.  It did not ask me to update any further yet.  My fans are 'on' by default even if I set them to 0% still on the OC bios.  Before the update I could turn them to 0% in Idle.  Is that going to be fixed soon?

If anyone has a TRX40 Gigabyte Aorus Master:
Install PX1 and do all the updates it asks, vbios, drivers, uefi(you can convert mbr to gpt)
You need the latest bios version as of this writing f5p and need to set the following in the bios:
Resizable Bar: Auto (When setting it to Auto, it enables Above 4G Encoding and sets it to 40, leave it as is)
CSM Support: Disabled
Select your XMP profile as it gets reset after the bios update.

Reboot, check nvidia control panel it should say Resizable BAR : Yes
And GPU-Z

Check PX1, if it still says check your motherboard vendor

Uninstall PX1
Do a DDU in safe mode

Install Nvidia latest drivers, I used Geforce Experience and used Custom Installation and click do a clean install
Then install PX1 v1.1.8.3

It should hopefully work.

Haven't seen anyone with a b450 tomahawk max, but I've done it all.
CSM = OFF - Updated everything, resize on in bios, PX1 shows it fine, but the "check with motherboard" line is up on PX1 and Nvid control panel shows resize off, and device manager shows no new long range line like it should.
I've got resize bar in my bios, but there is a new bios out for b450 tomahawk max after the resize bar bios I have, am I forced to need to update bios again? Really try to steer clear of constant bios updates in fear of bricking the board.. lol

That vbios might be dead, at least mime was. (3080 ftw3 hybrid, just blanked out, waited for over an hour, not POSting anymore, CSM was always off, board is a strix x570-e with the last non beta bios) I still have no idea how precision X is selecting the vbios and if that might cause a problem, but i guess i might try the more manual route again. The one major question i have though is if it is safe to switch the physical BIOS switch after booting and if nvflash/precision X will update ONLY the vbios that this switch is selecting, because i definitely do not want to completely brick the card, i can live without rebar for now.

I'm having an issue with mine as well, although I know that it should be working. I had a XC3 3080 on this machine, Resizable Bar was working just fine. I swapped it out last night for a XC3 3090 Hybrid and put the 3080 in my wife's machine. However, the 3090 isn't working. I know the setting is on through my motherboard. I disabled, restarted, and reenabled it as well. Precision X1 has checks everywhere except for the MB. When I put it in, it immediately updated the BIOS on the GPU. The NVIDIA control panel is also showing that it is not enabled.

Thank you!

To follow up to my post just above, I just updated to v1.1.9 but it still will not enable on the 3090. To confirm my BIOS setting as well:

I did another disable and enable again, just to be sure, still no luck. Resizable Bar will not enable in Precision X and showing disabled per NVIDIA control panel, per the images in the original post:

Jacob, the new updated X1 V1.9 did a firmware update to the 3080 FTW3 Ultra. But it does not fix the fan issues. Can we get an update on when this will be addressed? As a matter of fact it has now disabled the Re-bar that does work on V1.8. Nvidia CP says re-bar enabled and GPU-Z also says re-bar is enabled. X-1 now says not supported by MB and Re-bar disabled. Your update has made things worse for the 3080 FTW3 Ultra. X-1 has also now given an error .. unable to load nvml.dll. The specified module could not be found. This is the standalone version of X-1.

Normal or OC BIOS? Also can you take a screenshot of your info (i) button in Precision X1?
