Copying dlls all over will temporarily fix issues, but I would not get in the habit of doing it. What happens the next time it is updated at the source? Do you remember to update the place you copied it to? Do other programs now read the old one from System32 instead of the new one where it is supposed to be found? Not saying there is technically anything wrong with what you did, but root cause is important.

Looks like EVGA screwed something up here, pending a fix, having the dll there is probably not awful, but even in a place where only PX1 would look like "C:\Program Files\EVGA\Precision X1" would be better. However, it could cause a head-scratcher down the road. Just my own unsolicited 2 cents. I will take my beating now LOL.

Agreed, which is why i made a symlink of that .dll in system32 instead of copying it. Still a half ass measure, but at least the .dll being referenced will always be the latest one.

That's a good idea...  I was also looking at the PX1 install dir, there are dlls in the base directory and also in the Library folder there.  I assume a link to the dll there would also fix it, and only expose it to PX1, which I guess is the problem here.

With a Kingpin card, is Precision going to pick the right BIOS to update to based on my switch position?  Or where are the individual BIOS downloads?

I remember Jacob saying it will pick the right one based on where the switch is set.  I had a similar question and it seemed to work fine.

Can anybody 100% confirm that you can only update the bios currently indicated by the position of the physical switch and that it is safe to toggle that switch after booting in windows? I would really like to fix the bios that broken when precision x tried to update it, but i definitely don't want to break the second bios too. Also what is the bios that precision X wants to update on launch, the one you must update to even start it, compared to the nvflash updates on the actual update button?

Yes, whatever physical position the switch is in is what VBIOS will be updated (regardless of manual flash or PX1 flash). Yes, flipping the switch over in windows in order to flash the other VBIOS slot is safe.

I'm having an issue with mine as well, although I know that it should be working. I had a XC3 3080 on this machine, Resizable Bar was working just fine. I swapped it out last night for a XC3 3090 Hybrid and put the 3080 in my wife's machine. However, the 3090 isn't working. I know the setting is on through my motherboard. I disabled, restarted, and reenabled it as well. Precision X1 has checks everywhere except for the MB. When I put it in, it immediately updated the BIOS on the GPU. The NVIDIA control panel is also showing that it is not enabled.

Thank you!

I'm also still having this issue with a 3090 XC3 Ultra Hybrid, vbios 94.02.42.80.C2 as I posted a few pages back. I've had no success on an MSI z490 unify. Updated bios (tried beta and latest stable), CSM disabled, Rebar/4G enabled, and power cycled the computer a few times. Not sure what else to try other than waiting for a new vbios and motherboard bios.

Yeah, I've done everything short of reformatting at this point, and it isn't worth it. I'll wait for a hopeful fix. Sucks because it enabled flawlessly on my 3080.

Did you try what Bronsen suggested a few posts back?
"copying the Missing dll from C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVSMI and putting it into the System32 folder where a lot of programs actually look for it."

I was having the same issue after the 1.1.9 update, but after doing the above Re-BAR now reports as enabled. I've got an MSI MPG Z490, and a 3090 FTW3 with VBios 94.02.42.80.27

I looked just to check, that file is already in my system32 folder, I didn't put it in there so I'm assuming the installer did during one of the clean installs.

That was indeed what it did.  Only thing I'm missing now is a CPU that can do it since AMD hasn't enabled it on 3000-series and my 5950x won't be here til Wednesday or so.

I Have the HYBRID 3090 FTW3 and can confirm the NORMAL BIOS is broken.  It forces your fans to run at 100% non-stop.  the only way to get it lower it to run PX1 and manually force fans in the curve lower, but it still locks you above 33% non stop, sounds like a jet engine.  does this lock even running temps at 22C. but the second you close PX1 - BACK TO 100% fans.

Avoid this BIOS, but unfortunately EVGA has completely ignored the HYBRID community and keeps putting out this trash hybrid BIOS since the day they released it months ago with blazing locked fans in both Normal and OC modes.

I'm getting constant GPU crashes with my 3070 Ultra Gaming now since REBAR bios, anyway to revert back to pre-rebar? This is annoying and honestly not worth it.

Not even overclocked, everything was working previously just fine and no I'm not using CSM.

So, reading through everything I'm seeing here, would it be fair to say as, as I'm another one of those guys running a Ryzen platform using an MSI X570 Unify mobo to hang tight while NVidia and AMD try to play nice and make firmware for resizable bar compatibility?  I'm of the understanding it at least shouldn't be TOO far out.

Depends on the MB... MY  MSI X570 Gaming Pro Carbon has had Re-bar support since January 27 and is working.

Mine is also working. I suspect XXC's would work too, if he updates bios' on vid card and motherboard, updates to newest driver turns off CSM, turns on above 4G decoding and resize bar support.

So went and tried to update my vbios today for this - and got a pretty scary looking error

"EEPROM programming failed.

PROGRAMMING ERROR: EEPROM Program failed
Please note this error and contact your display adapter manufacturer's technical support line. It is important that you leave your system ON and NOT reboot until instructured by your manufacturer on how to proceed."

I did the update via Precision so shouldn't have any issues with wrong files etc. I have a 3080 XC3.

Normally I'd go through the basic troubleshooting steps but the message about not turning off my computer has me worried - am I going to be bricked on reboot? I have a 10700kf so I can't fall back on the integrated graphics if anything goes wrong.

I've raised a support ticket but just concerned about waiting a while with a computer I can't restart

edit: updated CPU name

Apologies, meant KF.

As an update, my power conveniently went out so had to restart the computer. It booted, I then reinstalled (again via precision) and it says it's worked this time. Unfortunately having further issues as soon as I update my bios settings to enable rebar - the GPU fails to work, giving me a video card issue light on my mobo. Can only fix it by removing my cmos battery. And yep, have done the mobo bios update as well.

So I'll have to go and try and do some clean installs of everything all over again and see how that goes.

copying the dll got rid of the missing file error for me as well. PX1 seems to have had issues for years now.

Got a Gigabyte x570 aorus pro (with the F33 BIOS). The EVGA precision says that reziable bar's disabled, but GPU-Z says it's enabled.

Any idea what's happening, I'm pretty sure that this is the last gigabyte bios I've got ?

Yep, CMS off, >4G enabled. Both don't cause any issues on their own, but the moment I enable the resizeable bar the GPU fails. Thinking it's just because of the initial GPU firmware update fail, so will go and factory reset and start from scratch.

It sounds like your Windows installation is MBR? What do your partitions look like in disk management?

My Nvidia system info says enabled, once I updated to 1.1.9 I get the "disabled" message in PX1.  Go back to 1.1.8 and it goes away.  I suspect in 1.1.9 it is working it's just a glitch in the new update.

For those who can get Re-sizable BAR to work, I found this in Overclockers UK:

Here is how to enable REBAR on non whitelisted apps/games

1 - Download Nvidia Inspector. Probably at least version 2.3 ideal.
2 - In Nvidia Inspector, look for the icon that kind of looks like a hammer 2nd from the right, if you hover over it, it says "Show unknown setting from Nvidia Predefined Profiles", Activate it.
3 - Now if you browse any game in Nvidia Inspector in the Unknown flags at bottom, look for the following line.
0x000F00BA (17 profiles)
and
0x000F00BB (17 profiles)

For games that are whitelisted these flags will probably be already enabled, for other games the value will be 0x00000000. You can flip it to 0x00000001.

Update - It has been brought to my attention there is a 3rd flag as detailed below to enable.

0x000F00FF (17 profiles) - 0x0000000040000000

Tried it out myself with 3DMark and it does appear to help somewhat.

It keeps detecting my EVGA RTX2080ti XC instead of my EVGA RTX3090 FTW3 Ultra and won't let me change it. It should have a pull-down. Even if it would let me change that option, I downloaded new GPU drivers (which isn't always best for F@H), new Precision x1 (to 19 from 17), new GPU BIOS, new M/B BIOS. All to get greeted by the statement that OS must be installed in UEFI mode.

Per Nvidia's own guide:

 5. Ensure GPT partition type is used (and not MBR)
               a. You can convert MBR to GPT using these guides
- and make sure to disable CSM in BIOS after. And if you don't want to convert, just disable CSM and then reinstall windows.

As for the 2080 Ti being seen over the 3090, likely you'll have to turn off the PCIE lane for the card (if your MB supports that), or remove that card in order to update via PX1. Or use one of the links for the semi-manual update tool that EVGA Jacob posted in post #86:

EVGA_JacobF

Hi Jacob, can you post the Resizable Bar VBIOS file for 24G-P5-3987-KR?

Is it possible to get the files for both the standard OC BIOS and also the XOC BIOS both with ReBAR support?

Thanks Jacob, it would be appreciated.

enterhavoc

Similar situation with my 3090 FTW3 Ultra. Updated via Precision and after it stopped at 95%, screen blinked and I have the same EEPROM error.

@Jacob; Kingpin 520w ln2 bios is being limited at +450w, reinstalled afterburner/precision/drivers etc, only thing that works is moving to the non-resizable bios.

I sent a ticket to evga support, and they suggested me to wait for a Precision X1 update, because as it is now, they said although most people can get rebar to work, a lot others are having issues flashing their cards or P1 not recognizing stuff right. So, waiting for PrecisionX 1.2.0 I guess, not risking bricking my gpu.

My motherboard will support resizable bar but I am not clear on if my Intel I9 - 7900x will support it.  I don't see it listed on Nvidia's site but I don't see x299 listed there either.  Can anyone clarify if the 7900x will support resizable bar?

X299 System:
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit | Intel Core i9 7900x (4.4 GHz)| ASUS Rampage VI
Extreme | 32 GB 3200 G.SKILL TridentZ RGB
Corsair 900D | Corsair AX 1200i PSU | Corsair H115i Elite Capellix (in Push/Pull) | EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra & 1080 8 GB
Samsung 870 PRO 2 TB | Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB | Intel 520 SATA SSD 240GB HD | 2 & 4 TB WD Black Hard Drive
Creative Sound Blaster Z | Logitech THX 5.1 speaker setup | LG Blu-ray burner | Corsair AF 120 and 140 Fans
Acer x34 Predator (G-Sync) | 2 x Samsung SyncMaster PX2370

IIRC, Intel has had resizable bar support baked in since Haswell. So yes, your 7900X will work assuming a REBAR updated motherboard BIOS and proper BIOS settings.
