Purchased and used enewt's associate code. Thanks for making this wait a little more bearable. Wishing everyone else the best of luck snagging cards with this less-than-ideal change!

Invitation to buy and passed on it?

In my case I had signed up for the original black gaming, when I heard the hybrid queue was coming up in December I received an invitation to buy gaming black around the same time but passed and waited for the hybrid queue instead. Please tell me that people like me don’t get pushed to the back of line? We never purchased a card.

I've been in queue for any card since 9/17/20, and whatever change occurred finally sent me my first notify.  08G-P5-3755-KL from 12/7/2020 just hit.   Happily purchased even though I would have preferred a 3080.  Came to this thread expecting celebration and I see people with multiple cards already feeling sad.  Can't relate. Happy day here thanks to this better system.

It's more about people who were waiting for a 3080 or 3090 for a year, and while waiting were able to purchase a 3060 in the interim. They are now being punished for buying a lesser card while waiting in a queue for the card they wanted. I would be angry too. This rule change shouldn't be retroactive, or at the very least should only be hitting people in queues for a like-kind card (meaning already got a 3080 card and are in a queue for another 3080, or already got a 3090 and are in a queue for another 3090). I hope you can understand that.

I don't get it. You signed up in one queue and waited over a year for one specific card and didn't try any other avenues? Can you help me understand the reason why you did this?

Congratulations on your card though! Glad to see you finally nabbing one!

A "better system" is one where I don't have to do anything and I get a card.  Duh, come on /s

Re: New EVGA.com Notification Checkout Process 2021/10/04 13:35:32 (permalink)
Yeah, this is seriously disappointing.
I used my 3080ti FTW queue spot to help a friend whose 5700xt melted in November.
Now I'm <5 minutes out in 2 different queues that *had* been moving recently (one of which was always my target, the other being a consolation prize), but what does that matter now?

And what does it matter to those of us still in queue for a 3080 from 9/16/20

At this point most, if not all, of the scalpers and botters have gotten all of their cards, this is just further penalizing people who legitimately want/need cards.

This is pretty tone-deaf, coming from a company that I respect.

It seems making this the rule from this point forward, or limiting 30-series cards to two per household would be a more elegant solution. Many people have been in queue for months for themselves and their child or spouse on different cards and they've lost months pursuing other purchasing options with the expectation their notify would ultimately be happening soon. Scalpers already have multiple accounts I'm sure and this likely does little to stop that.

Now when you get your card in the mail register it and join the step-up queue.
With all the issues with 30xx cards I would also but the extended warranty is you usually keep cards for a while.
The extended warranty will swap over to the step-up card when you get to step-up.

Thanks I intend to. I rma'd so many gtx 295's from '09 in '15 that I worry I'm the reason we don't get lifetime warranty anymore.

Not a fan of this recent update.

You basically screwed people who had to settle for say a 3060 while waiting for their 3080. People who signed up for other cards for friends.

Whats even worse is it was polled on the other thread where 65% of ppl voted to leave the system as it is.

This is my notify screen.

*late edit, I guess not since apparently I dont know how to link here, but no, I had many queue positions*
I didn't realize back in September of 2020 we were talking about waitlists over a year and I only needed one card so it didn't occur to me to shotgun everything/anything until later.  The card that hit today was from my first "batch" selection in December, and then later in January I clicked everything.   Newegg shuffle never hit for me i'm at least 0fer40, I can't line up at a bestbuy an hour away Friday mornings, and I wasn't going to pay a scalper.

Is there a One account per Household policy?

Our site Terms limit accounts to one per person.  Due to the necessity of many people signing up for notifications with the wrong email address, some people have to make a second account for this purpose; however, they are still limited to one purchase per person, per household.

I've been in queue since day 1 for a 3080Ti FTW3 Hybrid ... now @ about < 8 minutes away in "the old queue" ... not great news for me; but, I can live with it

I did snag a 3080Ti FTW3 - air cooled through the queue last month (signed-up in less than 2 hr on day one) .... it is what it is.

I avoided the 3080 cards at launch, to allow more people to have a chance at one, as I had some 2080Tis already

Many people were screaming for an opportunity to buy just one 30 series .... so it kind of makes sense to spread the wealth

I have no idea what EVGA can do to confirm accounts, lets just hope they can keep the cheats out & more people can buy direct from EVGA.com

Per person or per household? If both, "per person" does not make any sense since person included in household.

Well this new policy SUCKS!  I bought a card, not what I wanted but a a 3080.  I really want the 3090 Kingpin Hybrid.  Now EVGA is telling me, Hey we changed the rules.  So to bad about the card you really wanted!

Just think of it as leftover legalese.  Per household is controlling, as you note.

Of course, you have no way of telling that people signed up with fake accounts, tens of thousands of them.

You might want to fix this change before you have people rioting in front of your offices.

Hmmmmmmm....

While I understand the move to get those who have not received yet, it's kind of strange to do that now. Should have implemented it in the beginning. This change will just upset many people who were looking to get updated graphics cards for their pc's or may have settled for a lesser card while waiting on their 3080's, 3090's or K|ngp|ns. I have 2 pc's that have really old 670's and was looking forward to getting 2 new 3070's (1 FTW & 1 XC3 Ultra). I just received my notify for the FTW on 9.30.2021 and the one for the XC3 Ultra is only a few days out according to enewt's ongoing queue system tracking. Now, who knows how much longer it will be before I get the XC3 Ultra for my other pc. Not trying to screw someone else out of a card here, nor are many others on here, but this just messes it up for many. Had I known about this new change, I would have had my wife register an account on her own and got her own notify set up.

Oh well... just happy to get at least one for now. My wife, while not happy about it, just kind of rolled her eyes and shrugged it off as she is getting the XC3 Ultra.

Wow, I feel so bad for people who settled for a 3060 and now can't get the card they want. I bought a 3060 because I was desperate and had no gpu, but finally got better notifies. I can't imagine how some people might feel betrayed by this.

Lee or Jacob, maybe you can just answer two questions that seem to be the precursors to a lot of the frustration here:

1. Why did EVGA decide to do the opposite of the poll responses? If you were interested in folks' opinion and wanted the feedback, why did you then ignore it?

2. There's no chance the entire queues are satisfied before next gen cards come out and these are ultimately discontinued. Why did you even leave the notify buttons active for so long? It has been quite clear for a long time that the supply is not going to catch up with demand, but you kept letting people enter the queues (save for a couple).

While I could ask plenty of other questions, those are the two that I think would really help people understand your perspective on the matter.

I'm 4 seconds away on a 3989 (3090 FTW3 Ultra HC).  Is there no grace period at all if you're this close?

My time is 04/15/2021 10:00:33 and last reported notification is 04/15/2021 10:00:29 which was like months ago.

May I propose a 60 second grace period for those that are really close at least?

This isn't the kind of thing you do mid-game, this is something you do for NEW rounds coming out, like the Super series. Business 101, honor commitments as laid out, and if you want to make a change to policy you do so for future commitments, not existing ones (unless the issue is a danger to customers or something).

So I managed to get a couple cards, went to family and best friend at cost, but kept using my system as is because it was fine. Card died, now just using my laptop. So the 3070ti XC3 that I'm like 50 seconds away from I'll just never get I guess? And I can't really be like "Hey, go ahead and give me that card back bro".

As others have said, not everyone can be sitting at their computer at nuts O'Clock on the dot to get in the queues, nor are they elite members. My brother works construction and he's gone by 4am PST so yeah. There are however a metric crap-ton of people gaming the system with multiple email addresses, I guess that's what we get for following the rules as initially laid out rather than doing the same. I really do love how y'all went ahead with the change after 65% of the user base said not to. Pretty obvious this won't be happening, and I'm like 0 for 104 Shuffles so new Gaming Laptop it is I guess.

Wow EVGA. Imagine how surprised and disappointed I felt today when I learned that, even though I was only 4 seconds away on a 3070ti, I would not be allowed to purchase. Perhaps you forget the hours us elite members spent sitting at our PCs on release days hitting refresh for hours on end to get a good spot in que. We put in the work. We should be allowed to purchase the cards. I could care less if people are scalping or helping out friends and family. We made the effort to secure our place in line so we should be rewarded as promised. Epic fail EVGA.
