would love a kingpin card... but eh... realistically whats the noticable difference between a 3080 and 3080ti and a 3090.... they are all roughly the same within 10% or so right?

Nothing really if you're not overclocking. Overclocking is where the KP cards really shine.

i did manage 2265mhz on my 3080 ftw3 ultra..... =) that was port royal pass. but Games, Nothing really stable over 2175

So I just need to apply for auto notification and you will send me one once the graphic card is available? I still don't understand how to queue system will work. how can you be registered on the queue?
Auto notification IS the queue. You apply for auto notify, when card becomes available eVGA sets it aside (for a duration) and sends you an email with a specific link to pure base the said card. If you’re in the EU, you need to apply for auto notification at the eu.evga.com, but other than that, there’s no other catch. (Of course evga.com store only serves North America as well)

3080 Ti is much better for 4K than the 3080. 3090 is slightly better for 4K than the 3080Ti and has more room for OC (as noted).
Depending on what you are doing, a 3090 might be a lot better than a 3080 Ti for 4K. One of my games was reserving/using 21 GBs of my VRAM...granted it was Skyrim with about 1000 mods, some very texture-heavy mods. I would be interested to see how a 3080 Ti would handle that.

You'd be surprised how much programs/games can allocate memory they don't need. Granted, it would be interesting considering the mods you were running to know how much was actually in use. You be doing the exact same thing with less memory, then add more and repeat and it will allocate more memory.
