Has anyone had any luck with regular EVGA support getting them a missed queue position? I got a notification for the 3080 FTW3 on Friday but I didn't get the email itself until nearly 12 hours after it was sent.

I emailed ordernotify@evga.com and all they told me was to try emailing them again when the GPU was back in stock in a week or two...

I don't have Twitter to reach out directly to Jacob about this either. Is there a way to tag users on the forums?

That's an unusual response.  Did you email them or reply to the invite to purchase email you received?  They may not have stock on hand, but I would reply to the invite to purchase email you received and in the reply clearly express your intent to purchase the card.  Then, after an hour or two, I would call the customer service number and check in with them (+1.888.881.EVGA (3842); 9 am to 6 pm PT, weekdays).  Best of luck!

After upgrading from a EVGA 980SC and installing the 3080 FTW Hybrid that I finally got last week, I can't lie..... The frame rates are a little underwhelming. I was expecting a little more for ≈ $970. Oh well, maybe I will cave and pay another $60 for the latest Resident Evil game so I can at least check out the RT capabilities of this card while I wait for gaming applications to catch up with latest generation GPU's. I also had to buy a new 850W PSU because the old card has dual 6-pins and the 3080 requires three 8-pins. Any PSU under 850W is probably not going to cut it, even if it's < 2 years old like the 750W that I just pulled out of my rig.

Boy, am I glad that I didn't go for the 3060/3070. That would not have felt like much of an upgrade over the 980.

Did the 3080ti cue start the day it was released? or is it filled with other people who haven't received other notifications?

hol' up. so, i guess then we can expect some 3897's in a "week or two"? Would be nice if @Jacob or @Evga themselves were more open about that but okay.....

I highly recommend running GPU-Z, paying attention to the Bus Interface readings while running a render test (click on the "?" next to it). A buddy got the 3080 FTW3 hybrid and was getting low framerate issues with Fortnite. When he looked at the info, his system wasn't running at PCIE 3.0, it was actually dropping down to 2.0 and even 1.0 for some reason. He went in his system BIOS and switched from "auto" to "3.0" and saw quite the improvement. Might not be the same as what you're seeing, but I thought I'd throw it out there just in case.

I replied to the email address provided in the message on the EVGA site saying my purchase notification had expired after clicking the link on the notification email. I'll try replying directly to the notification email itself.

Thanks!

yeah I'm not really sure what was up with the response I got. I don't know if I'd read anything into it though, almost seemed like the person didn't actually know or missed that my email was about a 30 series product

That's... interesting. What games are you playing, what resolutions? What framerates are you targeting? Even at 1080p you should be seeing at least double the performance; at 4k, I would expect to see you go from "completely unplayable" in modern games to over 60 fps... Perhaps there is another bottleneck in the system?

I'm curious what CPU and memory you two are using. I know my brother had a 3400G CPU and when he upgraded from a 1660 Super to a 3070 he was only seeing a little bit of FPS improvement. He had a MASSIVE CPU bottleneck. On top of it not allowing x16 lanes of PCI-e, it was also just having a big overhead issue where the CPU was just not able to feed the GPU enough information. Things that improved his performance until he upgraded to a 5800X (which really unlocked his 3070): making sure XMP profile was on for his memory, making sure BIOS had his PCIe slot set up as PCI-e gen 3 (this can be 4 depending on CPU/motherboard), setting the power usage to "maximum performance" in the Nvidia driver utility (check the 30-series troubleshooting page for more info on some of these), but really it boiled down to the 3400G just not having enough power to unleash the RTX 3070. He put in a 5800X and now his frames are dramatically higher than before. If you look at your CPU and GPU utilization while you're gaming and your GPU isn't at 99-100%...you have something else going on.

I am on an 8700K on a z370 EVGA FTW board. Nothing overclocked. 16GB of 3200 Corsair vengeance RAM. 750W PSU. XMP turned on. Two NVMe drives, most games on a Samsung 970 Pro.

I play on Max settings all games at 1440p. Not sure about the PCI-e thing since I am not familiar with that stuff.

I have used Afterburner with Rivatuner to see the stats while running and nothing is maxed out.

The entirety of September 17th for 3897 took about two months (from 10/6 - 12/4) to clear. Keep in mind that this was entirely comprised of people clicking the button expecting to be notified of stock; there was no queue system at the time. I am not sure if there are more or less people in the first day of the 3080 Ti queues. Possibly more, since people now know it is a queue; possibly less, as more people have received cards since then, and also the prices might scare some people off (although this seems to be decreasingly the case as the scarcity continues).

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the community spreadsheet ☺️. I hope you all get your card soon!

Nope. No other bottlenecks. Everything in this rig is < 2 years old. Everything that really matters to this discussion is about a year old, or less. I ran the benchmark with Assassins Creed- Odyssey on ultra settings and was seeing about 48 fps on average. Good, not great. I will keep at it and see if I can optimize it better.

Part of it could be my own expectations as well. Let's face it, with the 3080's we are paying nearly 1k in some cases for a card that should have been priced closer to $600 imo. It's an overpriced card, just like pretty much everything else right now due to tariffs and horrific inflation, the likes of which we have not seen since the early 1980's. And it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better, so I guess I should be thankful that I got the card for under 1k. I won't be surprised at all if prices increase again before year's end.

Yeah I went from a 1080ti FTW3 to a 3070FTW3 and it doesn't feel like much of an upgrade either.

Yeah that's not much of a jump. A downgrade in the VRAM department.

I knew it wouldn't be huge but DLSS in some titles make it better and had to see about this Ray traced light everyone's been talking about. I entered a stepup queue so I'll eventually bump up to something better.

That's... interesting. What games are you playing, what resolutions? What framerates are you targeting? Even at 1080p you should be seeing at least double the performance; at 4k, I would expect to see you go from "completely unplayable" in modern games to over 60 fps... Perhaps there is another bottleneck in the system?

Wow, that does sound strange though. Most sources have AC Odyssey running at anywhere from 60-90 fps average at 4K, with lows perhaps just under 60 (depending on the system and tester I suppose). The Anvil engine kind of sucks and doesn't particularly favour Nvidia GPUs, so I wouldn't expect high framerate gameplay at 4K. Still, you should definitely be above 60 fps almost all of the time at max settings.  As for the 980, well, that would have been lucky to get about 25 fps at 4K in this scenario... so there is some improvement.
Yes, I agree with you about the prices. Everything is overpriced, especially right now :/.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the community spreadsheet ☺️. I hope you all get your card soon!

Already did. They said the order pallet is already processed and either UPS didn't pick it up or has scanned it.

Wanted to see if any other Friday order have experienced the same.
