Man what's happening with the 3080 FTW3 Ultra? We had some nice momentum for the past 2 weeks and it was going fast, but now this whole week we've been getting scraps and the queue barely moved... :(

That happened with the 3090 FTW3, too. After some significant momentum at the end of January, it ground to a virtual halt in February (on one day, it moved about 2 hours, but not a thing else otherwise that I remember). Then, this week, massive movement.

They are not a charity nor claiming to be one this is capitalism. If don't like capitalism maybe you can move to China and make the cards for us. Just don't plan on be allowed to become a citizen and they will keep much better tabs on you then the NSA does. There is no contract and not really much of an obligation between EVGA and you.

You may have the best chance w Zotac Store Drops - yesterday they dropped 50 Trinity 80's.  They usually drop everyday

Zotac drops randomly - can be early afternoon, evenings, and sometimes in the midnight hours.
 
You'll see alot of 502/524 errors when it drops.

So, when are the 3080Ti's coming out? Just asking because when the 3060 launched it filled me with hope for a few minutes. Of course, that faded as it took me a half-hour to queue-up, but that initial feeling of hope felt great and I want to experience it again in my lifetime. :P

What did I miss?  (Don't answer that.)
 
I have a love of geek culture and content.  Have since my youth when the family tv was kept in a closet in the home office and never plugged in.  I mean never.  The TV (along with a VCR) was a tool for my mom's work. TV and, to a lesser extent, movies were scarce.  So it is perhaps no surprise that I have been struggling to hold off trying to indoctrinate my daughter into a love of content (movies, tv, video games...not in that order).  Fast forward to last weekend when, without showing her the full movie, I had occasion to introduce her to one scene from Monty Python's The Holy Grail.  I found the moment on YouTube: Knights; shrubbery. You know the scene.  She loved it.
 
This morning, after not mentioning it for days, she had a moment of inspiration as she was just outside the front door getting her shoes on before the drive to school. In an attempt to be humorous, she became a Knight at the door and demanded a shrubbery before her mom could pass on the way to the car for the commute to school.  At the first utterance of "NEE!"...the indoor-only cat bolted.  Through my daughter's legs (without paying the shrubbery toll) to the front yard and proceeded to dart from bush to deck chair and back again for the next seven minutes as I, fresh from the warm bed, in my underwear and flip flops (and without my glasses) chased that little bugger to and fro.  All the while my wife and daughter debated at full and disharmonious volume whether Knights should say "Nee!" at all; it was getting so loud, I expected our neighbors to don masks and walk over to offer their opinions. 
 
The cat was eventually secured and paid a treat for its trouble.  But my wife/her mom was not entertained and I understand the drive to school was done in silence.  Upon her return, I anticipate being instructed that Monty Python must go back into the vault for another few years...that there is a maturity that is required before such worldly knowledge can be bestowed on our progeny.  Alas...I am foiled once again by the unintended consequence of disseminating knowledge...my indoctrination must wait.
 
As I sit here, I am reminded once again, that no good deed goes unpunished. 
 
We gather here because EVGA built us a queue.  They didn't have to do it; their competitors have uniformly chosen the easier path.  But EVGA did build it, and we did come.  And while the queue system remains the worst gpu purchasing system in the world...except for all the others...it is all we've got (other than F5 etailer battles, Microcenter surgical strikes, Newegg raffles, etc etc.).       
 
We often get salty and let our frustrations boil over into the threads or on Reddit.  Understandable and, I would argue, often unavoidable.  But let's please remember that we are in this debacle together and that EVGA is not the villain.  We can debate.  We can offer opinion.  We can use all caps.  But let's be respectful of each other.  We are not going to change the world by demanding that our perspective win the day through posts in threads bemoaning the lack of gpus, no matter how many emojiis we use.  If you made it this far, thanks for reading.

It's nice to see the 3090 FTW3 Ultra moving super fast now!!!!! I'm very close to getting my hands on it! My sign up is around 10/15/2020 8 pm PST. Hopefully we'll see faster movements more often. Maybe it was a good thing for me to just wait a little longer. Because I would be lying to myself if buying from these other companies like Best Buy, Newegg, etc. haven't crossed my mind. I was very tempted on buying a GPU from Best Buy when they did a drop last week.

Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say 'ni' at will to old ladies. There is a pestilence upon this land. Nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress at this period in history.
 
Inspired me to throw that up for my daughter.  She's been sure her uncle is trapped in the Matrix lately, so hopefully this can overwrite that.

Queue is not a very fair system. This is why it does not in favor in the US. Lottery system is much more fair and provides equal opportunity.
 

Of course, this is what people say when they signed up months too late. Get in line!
Imagine being somewhere physically in line for 12 hours and then somebody walks up and gets chosen for the "fair lottery" after being in line for 3 minutes. That would be so fair. /s

Turned on Holy Grail a few weeks ago knowing my 9 year old would wander in.  He loved it, Knights who say Ni and The Black Knight were his favs. (I skipped over Sir Galahad)  There was also much "Ni"'ing going on about our house for the next few days.

That movie is such a classic! Me and the wife used to watch it at least once a year lol!

No the lottery isn't equal opportunity.  Queue guarantees everyone gets a turn, based on when they signed up.  
It's not a political issue or an economic system issue.  It's a queue.  And queues have existed forever no matter where you are.  If you don't know what a queue is, go buy something at a busy store and see how jumping ahead in line works for ya.
A made up story about anthropomorphic political system characters isn't proof of anything.
