I already have a 3090Fe and 3070. I gave up on EVGA.

Flintheart Glomgold One thing just occurred to me. The docks were likely closed for two weeks at the end / start of the year. This would lead to a bit of a bottleneck right now for evga getting the cards as they are stuck in the port. I'm more worried now about Golden Week. There may be three weeks at the beginning of March with nothing.
Nah, the Port of Long Beach almost never closes. The only historical exceptions have been due to strikes by longshoremen and truckers. What did happen is that pallets of cards piled up which led to some pretty significant drops last week by all of the retailers. Yes, they were narrow and only a few different cards were represented, but at least something happened.

so if the price changes(goes up) after we join the queue, is that the price we have to pay, or is it the price when we joined the queue? Thanks!

Per EVGA, for those already registered for the North American queues prior to January 11, 2021 (no news on EU queues), 2020 prices will be honored for purchases made by April 16, 2021. The increased prices that EVGA posted yesterday will be effective for those not already registered for the queues for purchases made prior to April 16, 2021, and for all purchases regardless of when you registered for the queues for purchases made after April 16, 2021.

You will. And the timeline on the 3080 Ultra queues should move more with each drop (as they are past the launch day congestion) until well past your date of 9/23. Probably another 3 to 5 weeks, assuming reasonably consistent drops. Best of luck!

jehoffman1 I doubt EVGA has much inventory or we would have seen cards appearing either here or in EVGA retailers. I don't see any cards anywhere. I keep hoping production is ramping up and EGVA will start receiving large shipments by ship, which takes longer but is less expensive than air freight. The demand cannot be all that large since relatively few people buy GPUs nearly as powerful and expensive as the cheapest RTX 3060 TI. (Most people with computers don't even have discrete graphics cards.) So, the supply has to be very low and even a relatively modest increase in supply should have a major effect on satisfying demand. I don't have any inside information but I suspect that the main problem is a shortage of the GPU chips Samsung is fabricating for Nvidia, since a shortage of anything else would be more likely manifested as a shortage of particular makes or models of cards. Instead, whatever the problem is seems to be affecting ALL RTX 3000 series cards. I've been looking on the websites of all the major retailers and no-one seems to have any of the cards in stock or even available for pre-order.
I think you are underestimating the number of people who game on PC. There are 5 million members on pcmasterrace and that place is toxic as hell. The demand is there, people aren't spending their normal "fun" budget doing normal activities, I don't think $500 is breaking many banks. To your point, while the demand is real, the shortages are just as real. The AIBs have people in line dying to give them $400-2000+, they would be crazy to not do everything possible to try to meet that demand. There are multiple places out there dedicated to scanning retailers for "drops", and any stock is gone within seconds.
"Most people with computers don't even have discrete graphics cards" is not really accurate (maybe in a laptop since but not with desktops). I'm in my 50's and have a graphics card and it's going out on me (I'm hoping to get one soon). Also my two brothers, my son, and my husband all have graphic cards. My son and brother are also trying to get new cards, as their cards are old and need to be replaced. And that's just one household. It's just NVIDIA is trying to produce as many chips as possible but the demand is so huge, especially with bitcoin mining, that they cannot keep up with all the consumers who are needing one. I'm just waiting patiently. If my card goes out before I can get my hands on a new one, my husband will be missing a card from his computer.

Well at least something went right in terms of my luck today. Happened to refresh Amazon & the Samsung G9 was in stock for a regular price, direct from Amazon, shipping immediately. Should be here between the 15th & 19th. I probably shoulda waited to order it, but I'm continuing with my YOLO approach to this year. lol

So, Newt...., there were no drops at all today for EVGA? Clicking on the link on your signature shows the spreadsheet as of this morning, but I don't see anything later in the day. So..., another day without any notifies or shipments from EVGA? I'm beginning to think I might have to pass on my spot on my notifies to my grandchildren! I can't remember the site, but I saw an article with pictures of a 'mining' rig that some guy had built with 78(!!!!!) RTX 3080's in it! Not sure what brand they were, but they all looked identical in the photo's.

According to Jacob, CS/the site is retuning things for the price updates, and to allow us that are already in queue to still purchase at the previous MSRPs we've been promised we can buy the cards at until April. That is why there have not been any drops, if they sent out emails the system would try to charge them the new price. So, as a result, I'd expect when we do get drops (tomorrow) it should be several skus that have come in the last two days, hopefully.

Per EVGA_JacobF, they had to do some backend work on the storefront so as to provide for the queue members who signed up prior to January 11 and who purchase a card through the queue to receive the benefit of the 2020 (as opposed to the 2021) prices. So, yes, no material drops today (technically, I received a single report of a card being dropped to somebody who had missed their 8 hour window to purchase and sought relief from EVGA...which was rewarded today (perhaps that transaction -- that occurred in the early afternoon -- was a test of the new grandfathered prices process...?)). But, I am hopeful that tomorrow will be in a position with an updated storefront and significant 30 series inventory to make it a drop day to remember! Let's hope so. As there were no material changes to the queues, here is where they were as of this morning and now (the one card that dropped was "behind" the head of the queue as it came about through relief from a missed purchase window): As of 8:10 pm PT Tuesday evening, January 12, this is the status of the North American queues: Card SKU Auto-Notify Date/Time Ultra 3090 FTW3 Ultra 3987 10/07/2020 21:37:26 3090 XC3 Ultra 3975 10/05/2020 20:52:00 3080 FTW3 Ultra 3897 09/18/2020 14:48:46

I just need them to drop another load of Kingpins so I have the most GPU powa possible to power that Samsung G9 once it gets here, that's a lotta pixels :-P the more power the better, that extra ~120-200MHz I can squeeze out of the Kingpin might mean a setting or two I don't have to turn down. Hopefully we get multiple SKUs over the next two days, as I'm sure they'll most likely leave Friday for a straggler day.

I'm have 250+ people ahead of me for both the 3080 hybrids, but less than 20 ahead of me for the 3090 XC3 Hybrid. Does this mean I have a chance to get a card in the not too distant future? *holds breath*

Yep I blame miners dont get me wrong I mine eth as well but i wait until 8-10 months into a cards lifespan before replacing current hardware this 3060ti is for gaming not mining. but most miners are not considerate of gamers like me.

how do you find out your place in line ?

Look for "3060 Ti Notification/timeline thread with daily updated list" in the top group "." It's just an estimate from crowd sourcing so who knows how accurate it is, but the most important thing I take away from it is there are a LOT of people who signed up for the card. I picked a hell of a time to upgrade my CPU!

gvarv I was just wondering why the "3090 XC3 Ultra Hybrid 3978 12/08/2020 10:54:44" queue has so few people listed in the spreadsheet. I'm have 250+ people ahead of me for both the 3080 hybrids, but less than 20 ahead of me for the 3090 XC3 Hybrid. Does this mean I have a chance to get a card in the not too distant future? *holds breath*
The 3090 is more expensive & there is thereby less demand for it... also keep in mind the spreadsheet is not accurate, there's probably at least twice the amount of people signed up for as there are on that spreadsheet, that's a safe guess.

There is not a publicly-available official place in line. KevinDontDance is likely referencing a self-reported list in a spreadsheet. It is unofficial and represents an unknown percentage of the total registrants for any given card. The spreadsheets for the mainstream cards have, over the last few months, been attacked by trolls and include erroneous information; In short, in my opinion, they are unreliable. I have chosen to track the timeline (hours, minutes, seconds) rather than the spreadsheets which I have found unreliable at best. By tracking the timeline, you have a known measure by which to evaluate, over time, the progress of the queues and your distance from the front of the line. YMMV. Best of luck!
