I don't mind paying the higher price.  From an economic standpoint and the supply and demand curve they are not charging enough for the cards.  They should have started with a much higher price from day one and allowed the market to stabilized then start lowering prices so that demand and supply always meet.  The only reason scalpers can sell at much higher prices is because the current Market allows it and they are selling them.  I think it is nice they are holding off prices for those of us in que but it would not have made me mad if they had raised the prices.  I am a true capitalist in that regard.   

I think Nvidia was looking over their shoulder at AMD's big Navi and wanted to make the most compelling offer they could.

The economic effects of Covid were probably miscalculated.

The "rationing effect" of supply and demand are unfortunately on full display now. If all cards on amazon and ebay were lowered to msrp right now, they would all be gone tomorrow and the vast majority of consumers would not only still be without a new card, they would have no access to any of the cards...at any price.

I think your correct and if they would have had supply to meet demand it would have worked brilliantly.  This is why it is good to have competition and a free market because it forces companies to build great products at the lowest cost so that they can beat the competition.  However, in this instance AMD could not even meet demand either so both companies failed to meet demand at prices that could have been much higher.  The only reason I have not gotten a card from a 3rd party (Scalper) is because that often times those can be very risky transactions.  And often times the warranties are void because you did not get the item from an authorized retailer if they are not trying to scam you altogether. I can't even be mad at the scalpers because if you had the ability to take advantage of the market and make a lot of money why not.  I understand the frustration over it because a company recommended that it should be sold at a certain price but things are worth what someone else is willing to pay and people are buying them from the scalpers so they must be worth that price.  At the end of the day it starts with Nvidia and AMD deciding to recommend a starting price well below what it should have been. If they had started selling the cards at the prices the scalpers are charging it is likely we would have seen less scalping because it would have priced out a lot of people who because of the low prices are now straining that demand.  The demand would have been lower and thus supply could have keep up.

I am at 9:09:11AM for this card and I did not get a notification yet so if these dropped and notices went out it will have only moved a few seconds again I guess

Let's wait until we get a confirmation that a 3080 XC3 Hybrid invite to purchase email has gone out today AND that it didn't reach your timestamp...so far I have not heard of the hybrids dropping today.   

Sorry did not intend for that to come out as definitive in no way was I saying that they did a drop of these cards just that IF they had then it did not move far.  I am still holding out hope that they have not dropped yet but will  and that Jacob will be along with a Road Map
