The 3080 Ti will likely be as low-yield as the 3090 is, so I wouldn't count on it being more readily available, nor would I expect NVidia to be smart and stock pile them before release. Whenever they do come out it will be another crap-storm of scalping & zero availability, I will be amazed & shocked if I'm wrong about that.
A smart decision would be to delay that card until suplly lines pickup the pace.

Everyone is saying they will get a Ti instead of 3080. People will be shocked at the lack of availability of the 3080 Ti card. Ti is going to be significantly worse. The GPU chip has to be nearly perfect for the Ti.

I'm in this same boat. And the XC3 is the only 3080 that will fit in my case, so no buying a different card.
A case is cheap compared to a GPU. I would happily buy a new case if I could just get a card.

Supply will never pick up for Ti. Nvidia needs a nearly perfect chip. Perfect chips go to the 90. Slightly flawed 3080.

I agree. It suggests to me that they have inventory to distribute to the queues, but had to do some backend work to before they can issue the drops. That is much better than just two back to back days with zero drops.

I realize you can't really reason people out of anger. . . but evga is at the mercy of nvidia's supply chain. And since queues have never been needed before, and we don't know how accurate the information they were getting from nvidia was. . . I find it sorta hard to blame evga or get angry at them for not implementing queues from day one.
But heck, I sorta find it hard to be angry at nvidia too. They've got a hot product, they're selling out as fast as they can produce them. So, it's all sorta win-win for them. So maybe I'm too far to the "meh" side of things.
The reports of them selling directly to miners though does annoy. I'll admit to that.
