Supposedly, Paypal will also have to clear my bank... hopefully it goes through. EVGA says waiting for UPS pickup, EVGA invoice says awaiting approval. Paypal says pending, and nothing on my bank account yet. monkaS I'm sure if it doesn't clear by tomorrow I'll be able to email EVGA or call them.

It will end up bigger. So, yes, as the thread has discussed, momentum on the 3080 Ultras will continue to accelerate until they hit 10/5.

and my brain just had a minor kaniption fit that one of the front fans isn't oriented like the other 3... luckily they're all on "rubber" screws, so that's an easy fix lol You should see it in different modes, the Thermaltakes are all in Aurora mode on that picture so they're cascading through the color spectrum, it flows from one fan to the next on each controller - if I was in a permanent fan arrangement I'd set it up so that the color "flows" from the front of the case to the back, but I won't be there til the Hybrid card & CPU open-loop are installed - and the ladder is over a month away still, assuming I build up the courage to do it.

Straykatt You're kidding yourself if you think they're going to comment to this, we are the minority and drew the short straw it is what it is.
Not the first time I've held companies' feet to the fire and gotten a proper response. They gain community goodwill and trust by answering, and it's not like there's anything legal (I'm aware of) they could get dinged for by admitting their mistakes. The key is to be calm, clear, professional, and firm in your requests for comment; encourage good decorum from supporters and detractors alike; and not relenting until you get a proper response. It's worked pretty well for me in the past.
I see your point and you make a good argument, however at the end of the day eVGA is a company and here to make money so they can keep making their products, pay their employees and investors. If the tables were turned and lets say you had 10 ampere GPUs and had to choose which SKU to put them in either the black/gaming ($100 profit), or FTW/hybrid ($250 profit) what would you do? Don't get me wrong I hear you and frustrated as well, I would like to have a 3080 in my system just like everyone else but I guess I'm being realistic.

Current plan is to put the 3090 FTW3 Hybrid radiator up top (if it'll fit with the 280 already up there, will be a tight squeeze), then eventually get an EK custom open loop for the CPU (with a nice RGB CPU block), and mount the radiator for that up front. The CPU loop is a way's off cuz that's going to cost me almost as much as the 3080 did, and the 3090 has priority over all funds until I can get it - I bought food for a month earlier this week :-P lol

Sadly, given the holidays, I am afraid that you may run out of time in 2020 (but be very early in 2021). It is not a daily drop. The 3987 took a bit of a break for a number of days before yesterday's drop. It is almost as if the portfolio of different skus progress in a cyclical nature (excluding, unfortunately, the 3080 and 3090 Gaming and Gaming Blacks).... But, yes, in general...the Ultras have been getting more frequent drops than other models. Bottom line, I don't think it will take 3 full drops to get to you...probably more like two...but I am not sure that card has two more drop days (excluding straggler days) left in 2020. I hope that helps.

chuckymystic Are you allowed to buy an additional skews if you number in queue is called? I got the 3988, but what if my 3897 is called?
One unit per sku (so, yes, you can in your example).
I didn't know that! Obviously I didn't read that correctly I guess. I am currently building two PC ( Simrig - z390/ i9-9900k / 2080it; Gaming / Creation - z490/i9-10850k/rtx308/90? )*, and have one older z170/i7-6700kl/gtx1080 hybrid. The Simrig's CPU went belly-up during the initial installation process as the pump died and fried the chip. I spend so much time reviewing parts, buying all the parts, bending tubing for the watercooling, all the wiring.. I just said F this for a while! I have been playing games on my old gtx1080ti hybrid, and really it's fine with a lot of tuning and lowering settings. I just really enjoy building systems to compete against the latest Crysis / Flight Simulator! So I may buy a second card for this system.

jpwiseguy So the 3080 Ultra XC drops have stopped dead in their tracks after getting past release day and just a few hours away from where I am on the queue? LMFAO - true 2020 fashion. Ohhh man, I gotta laugh, but you know what? I give up. Game over man. At this point, either I get a notification or I don't. I'm done waiting around with expectations, checking stores and this forum everyday. Hopefully when the clock strikes 12:00PM January 1st, 2021 for every part of the Earth, the evil heinous fog AKA "2020" will miraculously lift and the terribly done black and white TV show the world is trapped in will turn to color.
'til 2020 v2 rolls out.. now thats a nightmare!

I've got the same worry, except I'm the 18th at 10:46 AM. Hoping that we get a big boy drop next week that might hit me.
I think you have a good shot...maybe you get it ordered but it arrives after 12/25. It is going to be close. Best of luck!!! Dabadger84 Woot woot! Got a reply back, guy stated he can pay today so I accepted the offer... and now, I wait for that Paypal ding on my phone. lol
Fantastic! Congratulations Dabadger84. It seems like we been bantering for all of 2020, but it has just been about 80 days or so. I am so happy for you. I hope it arrives quickly and safely. Enjoy your card! [And thanks for not dropping lots of CP2077 spoilers!]

Can we get an official statement from the company regarding the lack of production on 3881, 3883, and 3895? A lot of us were allowed to sign-up into queues for cards that EVGA (allegedly) knowingly had no intention of making in any reasonable or significant capacity this year, but left the community to figure out on their own until our only (current) recourse is joining the back of the line for literally any other SKU or fighting bots at retail websites. Specifically, could these three questions be addressed by the company: - Why were sign-ups/queues for 3881, 3883, and 3895 allowed in the first place if the company had no intention of making them in reasonable volumes prior to 2021?
- For those who signed-up for those cards specifically (especially those on launch days 9/16-9/17), what recourse (if any) will EVGA offer that could accelerate getting cards sooner (such as queue merging, offering upgrades to the XC3/FTW3 cards actually in production, or switching queues entirely to a 3070/3090 that is in production)?
- For future launches, will EVGA commit to only permitting sign-ups/queues for cards in active production, and not launch or fulfill additional SKUs (Hybrid, Kingpin, etc) until a sizable portion (e.g., ~60% of the backlog) of each outstanding SKU is fulfilled?
I know you're getting slammed, JacobF, but you're our lifeline into the company proper. Thank you for any additional clarification you're able to bring us, and the excellent work you've done thus far. You're kidding yourself if you think they're going to comment to this, we are the minority and drew the short straw it is what it is. Yeah, I agree 100% here. If you have worked in high tech manufacturing production with outsourced partners, global logistics during high demand low supply situations, managed large accounts like amazon, walmart, bb, etc, world-wide with NPI marketing campaigns and promotions competing both internal (sales teams) and external (bb vs walmart) you understand that the level of transparency that Jacob from EVGA's global product management team is very rare. We call this a Gatekeep / allocation process in which the supply and demand match across all regions is negotiated based on whatever rules govern the process. This is very labor intensive when you are just trying to distribute supply to the accounts (bb, wm, ne,etc.) let alone their internal sales ( us ). Everyone is screaming for their demand, supply is coming out slow, and the planner/director (Jacob) is in the middle and the only upside is to not F up! You don't get much recognition when you have done the best to make everyone happy, but everyone is still anger. Let's keep Jacob on our side, and recognize his efforts in going above and beyond for us.

I did the math, between the 1080 Ti resale, the 2070 Super resale, and what I'll probably get for my 3080, I'm pretty much getting the 3090 for... kinda free? Not really, but I can ALMOST justify such a ridiculous purchase to myself that way.

I would do the same thing they're doing, because it's objectively not wrong to put limited supplies into higher margin items if you're guaranteed to sell those immediately. What I would do differently than EVGA, and the point I've repeatedly made prior, is that I wouldn't allow queues or sign-ups for cards I had no intention of making in the first place. For the sake of argument, let me put myself fully in EVGA's hypothetical shoes. - Spring 2020, pre-pandemic: I see my 20-series sales have been kind of lackluster compared to my 16- and 10-series cards, but nVidia is now cluing me into the 30-series (at least on paper) and I can start designing some cards. Based on past lineups, I'm thinking a premium OC lineup (FTW3) and mainstream lineup (XC3) are appropriate, and I figure I can do four SKUs per GPU: two FTW3 (one superclocked, one overclocked with the nicer cooler) and two XC3 (one overclocked identically to the lower FTW3 but with a basic cooler, and one stock card).
- Spring 2020, early pandemic: I see that job losses are soaring, supply chains are impacted, and that this will have knock-on effects on my own product lineup. However, this early into the game and being a small AIB (relative to nVidia, my sole supplier of GPUs), I'm trusting my GPU partner to set reasonable expectations and use their expertise to better understand market conditions for launch, which they currently say will be Summer 2020. I finalize my paper designs for the launch SKUs, and get to work sketching out roughs for luxury tiers (Hybrids, Hydros, Kingpins) based on early technical specifications.
- Summer 2020: My GPU partner clarifies launch will be Fall 2020, likely late August or early September. I get initial engineering samples, and find I can add a fifth launch SKU to the 3080: no backplate, no overclock, to get me closer to the MSRP of the baseline proposed by nVidia. However, my cooler design and margins won't let me get to $699 exactly, so I offer an instant rebate of $30 at launch with a MSRP of $729 for my base card. I put the higher-end SKUs into production first for launch day, with lower tiers to come later. nVidia has said launch supplies will be tighter than expected, but I trust they know what they're doing.
- Early September 2020: Launch hype for the 3080 and 3090 are exceedingly high, and I might be getting concerned about overall demand. My initial batch of cards for launch are here, and less than I hoped for. I post the SKUs on 9/15, and auto-notify buttons on them on 9/16. I get a glut of sign-ups for e-mail notifications, and I make sure my IT team is ready to scale our notification system accordingly for 9/17.
- September 17: our site falls over just before 9am. Our stock is depleted in seconds, and the internet is furious before noon. Demand far outstripped supply, and I'm on the phone with my sole GPU supplier to demand answers. IT says our notification system didn't work as planned due to how quickly stock sold out.
- September 18-September 25: Lots of back-and-forth with nVidia. Production continues on auto-pilot, with higher margin cards made and shipped to retailers. Online sales halted until we can ensure bots won't overwhelm our systems. By the end of the week, we've settled on producing only the high-margin cards through October, since nVidia says stock should normalize somewhat by then.
- September 28-October 5th: Seeing how nobody else can or will do anything to stop or slow bots, we opt for a queue system based off auto-notify sign-ups. By this point, we know we're going to solely be producing the highest margin cards we can going forward, but we do not communicate this to our fanbase or customers.
- What I would do differently here, is that I would immediately merge the XC3 and FTW3 queues for both cards into a single queue solely for the Ultra variants of each. This would happen before the first invite goes out, and those who do not want or cannot afford the Ultra are free to remain in the queue for their original card. I would also remove auto-notify sign-ups for all cards prior to officially announcing the queue system (since we won't be finishing even launch day sign-ups this year), and put Kingpin, Hydro, and Hybrid models on indefinite hold since they'll sell well anyway (though I would produce and sell the liquid cooling block and hybrid kits themselves, for those who wish to modify their cards. No sense leaving money on the table).
- October/November 2020: We bungle a few Twitter posts and suggest that everyone who wants a card will get one by the end of October. nVidia's GPU supplies make it increasingly clear we won't even clear September's backlog before 2021. We do not mention our choice of SKUs to manufacture to those in the queue. The community works together to start building queue spreadsheets and trackers. We launch the 3070, focusing on much the same high-margin cards as before. The spreadsheets start making it clear we're only producing select cards in any significant volume, and that some cards aren't made at all. We continue on unphased, announcing Hybrids, Hydros, and Kingpins.
- December 2020: The community knows 3/10ths of our SKUs from launch aren't in active production despite having queues. As of 11-DEC, we remain silent on the issue, and begin fulfilling orders for select Hybrid SKUs.
Phew. There. That bold paragraph is literally the one thing I feel I could change that would've resulted in a better outcome for everyone, and the one thing EVGA really needs to address sooner than later (ideally with an apology, and offer recourse). curtisg67 Yeah, I agree 100% here. Do people only just skim the content and assume "whiny baby entitled brat" when they reply? I am not blaming Jacob, I am simply using his visibility to try and get a response from EVGA regarding genuine grievances from members of the community. If anything, I loathe this constant banging of the "you can't ever blame a company for anything ever because they're big complex machines" drum, or its smaller sibling, the "corporations don't owe you anything lulz" tambourine. Stop trying to defend the company on their behalf, and instead let the company choose to defend itself and its business practices to the public it markets to. That's their job, after all.

10G-P5-3881-KR 9/17/2020 9:44:07 PM PT No 10 SKUs "launched" on 9/16, three of which have queues that still haven't even reached the 9/17 release date. EVGA: where are the 3881, 3883, and 3895?

Thanks for using my Associates Code. It is appreciated! You haven't lost your marbles...well, if you have, you've gained some new friends in the form of incremental frames per second. I do think you'll enjoy the card. And just think of the story you get to tell...Amphere Watch 2020..."I was up the wall, adjusting the binoculars on my watch...for weeks on end...." It practically writes itself. Again, congratulations!
