I have 2 evga cards purchased within a year of each other. However my items don't qualify, does that make me disloyal?

xeddex I generally try and be nice and level headed but I'm going to just throw this out there... I've registered a total of 4 EVGA purchases (all GPUs) which date all the way back to early 2015. I joined these forums mid-2018. If someone who has never made an EVGA purchase and/or never registered an EVGA purchase can create an account today on these forums, pound out 100 spam posts on the "say any 5 words" thread and then get "elite" and have the exact same opportunity as me to queue for 3080 Ti then that's really really really upsetting.
Understandable. This is why a higher tier elite predating Sept 2020 would be beneficial.

First post after 13 years I'm hoping the next 3989 batch comes out before the price raise.

Not really. Until now I've never bothered registering my purchases as any warranty tended to not be worth replacement shipping costs. I'd return to store if dead within a month. Anything else usually is still running to this day.

Why exclude those of us who have bought evga consistently but didn't get the post count or qualifying product?

What's the threshold for what is considered a "qualifying product"? (not meaning to be a jerk, just want to know. Ex: I wouldn't expect a T-shirt to count but something like a GPU, motherboard or power supply should count)

I think you must have made 2 purchases within 12 months. I only have 1, but the other one was 12 months prior.

I just popped over and took a look. For hardware there are two situations. Option 1 is a VERY large list of "if you've bought one of these and registered it counts" and there does not appear to be a time limit so if you ever bought something on this list then it looks like it would count. The Option 2 is having bought 2 things in the last 12 months and looks like more of a catch all for things that might not be on the Option 1 list. No idea what you've bought but Option 1 has GPUs going all the way back to 10x series so I would think a lot of folks would qualify under Option 1.

https://www.evga.com/member/elite/ Read up... Register any 2 products or buy 1 qualifying. I bought a Supernova 750 G5 power supply that I'll be using when I get my card and it was on the qualifying list.

The purpose of a hypothetical "Uber" Elite would be for EVGA to offer early access for loyal customers. Since this is hypothetical the criteria could change but the bare minimum criteria in order to achieve this would be to only allow membership to those who registered a product before sept 2020. Obviously there would be more ways to filter it given that someone who bought a $20 power supply in 2014 wouldn't really be considered a loyal customer by any standards nor a person who buys T shirts and thermal paste. At the very least, sticking to the very minimum would give their loyal customers a sense of priority and kick out all the bots plaguing the queue.

static.quai I 422nd the opinion that posting should not be a path to an elite status. I get that this might be unfair to people who bought an evga product once 10 years ago, so maybe they could grandfather that and then halt it. Probably a little on the late side now, but there's nothing elite about robotically posting with only one goal in the forums. I think about the same on watching evga videos, but I guess they want viewers. That I kind of get, it may well bring in additional sales from personal use buyers. Regardless, I feel it's possible to still get in close to the beginning of the evga queue due to a semblance of a purchase limit, which is more than I can say for trying to buy a gpu or cpu on amazon. It almost feels like they let people order and ship straight to the Amazon fulfillment center for third party sellers to turn around and sell to those willing to shell out around double the asking price.
I would go for allowing up to 10 posts per week count against the 100 post requirement. That would spread the spam out a little bit, discourage spam in the first instance and yet still provide forum participation as a path to Elite status.
Or in addition to the 100+, have a rolling per week avg. Like at least 10+ per week for the last 3 months (rolling months). Only real participants in the forums will have that. In addition, there should be a warm up period, like no new accounts with 100+ post should be allowed in the Elite for a warm up of 1 month. So, no last minute scalpers....
What makes you say people who are now posting are scalpers?
I warrant that most are in fact genuine loyal customers who've never bothered posting as there was no prior incentive to do so.
Yes. I’m new to PC building - had this account since January 2021 so I could use the queue. Never bothered to obtain elite because it was useless to me. With this 24 hour exclusivity, there is a useful benefit for me. This just happens to be the easiest way to obtain elite. No filter :)

My point is that by EVGA choosing to include a 100 post count as a valid way to get in they've set the bar so low that there might as well not be a bar at all.

Thanks for that. I have both EVGA 1660 and 3060 both bought within 12 months of each other. I will have a look as to whether the 1660 qualifies, if it does, thats fine, if not then I am not too bothered. BUT, its useful to for others who may be thinking about needing 100 posts.

I know, it sucks for those who were already elite members, but you have to understand a couple of things about "Elite" membership..... 1) There is nothing "Elite" about it. 2) These faux memberships are put in place to benefit the company, not you or me. It has everything to do with marketing and targeted sales. The goal here is to increase elite membership by dangling a carrot which in this case is the 3080TI. As I mentioned yesterday, if EVGA wanted to throw existing elite members a bone they would have made the 3080TI available only to those who were an elite member before a certain date. That's obviously not what this marketing gimmick is aiming for.

That's obviously not what this marketing gimmick is aiming for.
All very true and completely agree.

xeddex I generally try and be nice and level headed but I'm going to just throw this out there... I've registered a total of 4 EVGA purchases (all GPUs) which date all the way back to early 2015. I joined these forums mid-2018. If someone who has never made an EVGA purchase and/or never registered an EVGA purchase can create an account today on these forums, pound out 100 spam posts on the "say any 5 words" thread and then get "elite" and have the exact same opportunity as me to queue for 3080 Ti then that's really really really upsetting.
if you frequent this thread.. u will see the following folks
1. wahh i signed up n waited for months evga doesnt release cards to me.. they release to LInus wah wah 2. im pay to win evga fan, i buy alot of stuff. evga should sell new stuff to me only.. 3. evga is scummmy by putting people that got ahead early in queue and not me 4. evga is scummy no matter what they do cuz i dont have a card and im entilted to one.. cant please everyone.. evga made changes to sort of combat bots/scalpers by giving elite early access.. its not 100% gatekeep but if u really tried u could get elite via pay to win or spam forum.. now for scalpers.. they would have to spam alottttttttttttttt.. anyways.. CANT PLEASE EVERYONE.. if u dont like how evga is handling their business. i recommend you go to asus/zotac and buy care from them.. they're eager to sell you cards..
Pretty much. The whining here has become exponentially worse since around December. That's about when the realization set it for a lot of folks that they would not be getting a card for a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time. They were all late getting a time stamp, but they should still get a card before everyone else because reasons.

My point is that by EVGA choosing to include a 100 post count as a valid way to get in they've set the bar so low that there might as well not be a bar at all.
then go watch their twitch stream

Because you can also achieve "elite" status that way pretty quickly. It takes about 15 minutes.

responses like this is why this thread is turning into a crapshow... evga tried to be fair and square with everyone.. u can get elite by pay to win watch to win or spam forum to win.. n people still can't be satisfied n they want only themself to be first in elite queue to get their cards and disregard everyone else.. like the world revolves around them only

I know, I'm already elite from purchases but my point was that I think vndragonslayer1 has somehow been missing my point. My point being that genuine good will toward loyal customers would look different than what this currently is and that this looks a lot like naked marketing with "loyal customer" wrapping paper.
