I don't blame people for giving up. I saw early on that I would need to go up to a 3090 to increase my chances, rather than the 3080 I wanted, and I am grateful I was in a position to do that. I am struggling to think of any release for any product that was as bad as this one. I know that a lot of it is out of EVGA and Nvidia's control, no doubt about it, but the fact remains that a LOT of people are soured on video cards, PC building, and maybe even PC gaming in general. That's not a good thing for the industry at all.

I asked Jacob if we can expect some 3898/3888s next week like 2 days ago. He hasn't responded so that tells me even he isn't 100% sure.
Just in case you didn’t see it, he responded to someone else saying 3898 was 1-2 weeks out from earlier this week. Looks like a slight delay, probably due to the backup of cargo ships waiting to dock at ports of LA and Longbeach
I did, everything related about that SKU, I watch like a hawk. Just an attempt to narrow down the time frame if it was next week or the week after.
Same here Lol. I’m hoping it’s this upcoming week but with the delays he probably can’t say for certain. I’m just over a minute behind you but should get one this drop if it’s as big as the last one

Today was rough, fellas. I have been trying to get on every best buy drop since December. I move things around at work just to be able to sit down and wait for a drop between 11 AM - 1PM each drop day, and this week that was hard since we expected a drop Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Today I was sure was the day I got my 3080, I was ready for when those buttons turned yellow and got into the queue, but I apparently should of done this on the app instead of the desktop browser. Sitting for 30 minutes in the 'please wait' apparently meant you were SOL, since it should not take more than 15 minutes.
You have to be lucky to get a card, I get that. But today is a low point in this journey after riding this wave of optimizing.
We've all been there bro, don't beat yourself up about it. Best Buy drops are a cruel nightmare; so much has to go right for you to have a chance and so much can go wrong. I've been participating in BB drops for months and in three separate occassions actually got a 3080 in my cart. But I lost them all in the seconds it takes to checkout. Worst of all I work late nights so a was constantly loosing sleep waking up for the Best Buy drops. I've stopped actively pursuing BB drops now, I'll still try but I'm not loosing sleep over failed attempts now. I'm in the same camp as you waiting for a big 3888 drop now. Fingers crossed we both get our cards.

Been waiting in the que for a few diff flavors of 3080 since Sept... mostly lower tier. When it looked like those werent being sent out, I jumped in the que for the higher end 3080s in Dec. So, keep up the good fight... we are I it together! Im trying to land a 5900X CPU as well, so its proving just as elusive as a 3080! I did manage to almost get a 5900X in my BB cart recently but was driving and my phone lost signal while I was waiting for the "Add to Cart button"! Watching websites, joining Discords, just a little longer... lol So, hoping my que from Sept 3080s to hit soon! 😎🍻

Another week without any 3897 actual decent drops... That's the FOURTH week in a row now with nothing decent...
I'm starting to believe too like some others that they are indeed killing this queue in favor or everything else and 3080 Ti...
What's the point of even hoping for a card at this point I wonder: you have to wait for months without anything and even then might have to restart your waiting time from scratch in a whole brand new queue because they are dropping the one you were in...

I did that and the one video where they actually announce it, I was half paying attention. That isn't worth it. You have to watch all their videos as they upload it in its entirety and pay attention. You might as well be camping the f5 game blind for stock drops back in September because that's what it felt like.

So I definitely picked the wrong card model 3881 -XC3 Black 3080, this list seems to never move... ever. It is now going on 7 months waiting and I most likely I can kiss away the grandfather price clause from Oct 2020. If I knew then what I know now, I would have just signed up for the 3070 or a 3080 hybrid card model. I thought EVGA would have produced more of the closer to MSRP black models in general but they focus their limited silicon on the higher profit models mostly, which is understandable but it sucks for me and others waiting for the 3881. I'm tempted to just go with a Radeon 6800XT which my friend is holding stock for me....
