Sounds like a nice day for you, Enewt! Hope the weather is nice wherever you are :)

I was too busy to keep up with the forum yesterday but I’m pleasantly surprised we didn’t get shut down again for talking about Best Buy lol

Evga should stop providing to retailers cause only the scalpers get those.  Just sell the cards through the que

Relatively few manufacturers sell most of their output directly to the public. Retailing requires different resources and different skills than does manufacturing. Also, during normal times, retailers provide the customers with the opportunity to see and compare similar items from different manufacturers.

EVGA's main business is selling product to retailers and value-added resellers (i.e., companies that manufacture finished computers). If EGVA had to choose between selling to retailers and selling directly to consumers, it would discontinue the sales to consumers and concentrate on its main business.

As frustrating as the shortages are, they won't last forever. But it is also counterproductive when manufacturers are stuck with excess stock, as happened a few years ago when the prices for virtual currencies collapsed and sales to miners evaporated (and miners sold off used cards). When that happens, manufacturers hold off introducing more advanced products until they can clear the stock of the old ones.

This is a pipe dream. They have contractual obligations to retails that will always (must) get filled first.

And now selling to LTT, which is PR, not standing contract.

Hopefully it doesn’t take away from the queue

If they have contracts with retail.
Where else will they get the cards.

About 7 hours away from a hybrid 3090.  Might as well be 7 years!  For the one I really wanted...., the queue might as well be 700 years!  It hasn't moved even one second since the start of the queue system!  (With my age and health problems...., I don't think I'll make it to see a 3090 ensconced in my computer!  Playing with the computer keeps my mind off of the other problems.)

Gigabyte TRX40 Aorus Pro WiFi Amd sTRX4 ATX MB, AMD Ryzen 9 Threadripper 3960x, EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 ULTRA HYBRID GAMING, 24G-P5-3988-KR, twin - 28" 3840 x 2160 Monitors, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, M2 NVME SSD for OS, 3x2 TB  Samsung 980 Pro SSD's for storage, Samsung SH-203 SATA DVD Drive, Coolermaster 1000 Watt PSU, Win 11 Pro, Coolermaster HAF 932 Advanced case. EVGA Z20 Gaming Keyboard, Razer Orochi 2013 Mouse.

If 1977 doesn't count as old school, what does in your book?

Sounds like you are all over it, but I'll post the rehabilitation process in case others may need it:

If you receive an "invite to purchase" email and you miss the window, do the following:

(1) reply to the email (it should have come from ordernotify@evga.com) and indicate your desire to purchase the card.
(2) call EVGA customer service during their working hours (9 am to 6 pm Weekdays (excluding EVGA holidays)): 1.888.881.EVGA (3842)
(3) they should be able to locate your reply, confirm that the queue has reached your registration and reissue you a new email with a new link to purchase your card.  It might take a day or so for them to confirm on-hand inventory and issue the replacement email.

Good luck hellbinder!

Well, sometimes it’s unavoidable. One of my wife’s favorite “Mr. kissTheApex in the kitchen”* stories is when I put cayenne (rather liberally I have to admit) in the scones instead of cinnamon!

I rather liked them 🤤

* And I’m usually quite handy in the kitchen to be fair.

I won’t pretend to know what their contracts look like. I doubt it will make much of a difference either way

In short, just another normal day in the 2020/21 Great GPU Debacle (Copyright Enewt).

I'm sorry if this has been asked 348947452345f times already (I couldnt find a forum search option)... Does anyone know roughly, how quickly the US queue moves... I have the google doc up with the most recent info, and im like 5 days away from the last update for the SKU I'm waiting on, just wanna have a general idea of when I should release my funds from their holding cell

That is correct. It has only moved 40 seconds since the last drop. Before the last big drop three weeks ago, it was moving like 3 or 4 hours on average per drop. It has since then ceased essentially. If that pace picks back up, I would expect it to still take a few months to cover to cover those few days.

I agree that it will still be several months. That queue has moved 5 days in 7 months, basically since launch. The expectation was the frequency and volume of drops would increase as time went by but we aren't really seeing that. Could be a massive backlog among other factors.

At the current rate, I wouldn't expect that card at least for several months minimal unless things change.

What is your SKU and the date/time you entered?

3897 - 9/26/2020 7:27:33 AM PT

I know Enewt's doc shows that as being up to 9/26/2020 7:27:33 AM PT as of yesterday afternoon
- Just trying to figure out how fast it moves, cant tell if the 40s on the time is indicating that they only moved through 40 seconds of the queue since the last drop, or if it means something else

Thank you for taking the time to reply as well to re-affirm the previous post. I thank you all for your help, I haven't had much time to look into the queue system till today to see where things were moving, I was already at peace with possibly having to wait till end of the year or even longer to get a new card. Just got a bit excited when I saw the google doc and that it was up to 9/21 hehehe...

But!! Now I know some basics for base line reference and can keep up on it with some better understanding

I hope everyone has a fantastic day and Easter Sunday tomorrow(for those who observe)

So the 3080 queue hasn't moved past the early days in September and it's April 2021 now.

Why should we believe Nvidia when they try to explain away stock issues as just increased demand? Did everyone and their mother sign up for notifies in September that EVGA can't move past that time in the queue?

EDIT: Yes, I understand EVGA is probably allocating more of their stock for retailers and especially resellers/system builders. I also believe companies in general (don't know about EVGA) are diverting stock to mining farms in exchange for some profit, because it's become tougher to divert to scalpers ever since MSI was caught. But they're still doing it. The increase in cryptocurrency mining stateside is nothing compared to what's been happening in Asia.

What difference does it make whether you believe Nvidia's explanation for the shortage of stock? What are you going to do different to get a card faster if you don't believe Nvidia's explanation? Are you going to buy AMD instead? AMD seems to have an even bigger stock shortage than does Nvidia.

Complaining about the situation will not get you a card quicker. Your options are limited:

You can wait in EVGA's queue. You can participate in Newegg's Shuffle. You can spend your days hitting F5 on the sites of the various retailers. You can buy from a scalper at an exorbitant price if you want to get the pain over with.

Otherwise, you will have to wait until supply catches up with demand. It will happen. Not tomorrow. Not the next day. Not for a while. But, eventually, it will happen.
