Lucky!! Congrats! Any chance you could help a brother out? I have been checking every day around the time I thought they had been restocking in the hopes to snag a 3090, as they typically last a little longer than all the other less expensive cards. I'm getting tired of waiting in the queue for a 3080 as well. What time and time zone were you able to make your purchase? I swear I was on it this morning and refreshing it like a hawk, but maybe I'm checking at the wrong time.

I have been checking every day around the time I thought they had been restocking in the hopes to snag a 3090, as they typically last a little longer than all the other less expensive cards. I'm getting tired of waiting in the queue for a 3080 as well. What time and time zone were you able to make your purchase? I swear I was on it this morning and refreshing it like a hawk, but maybe I'm checking at the wrong time. 

It dropped at around 12:30 ET... I follow a fixitfixitfixit stream and discord, and got the ping when it started dropping and got lucky. BB usually drops every 2 to 3 weeks., and usually between 10am and 1PM EST... and theres a process to actually getting the card into the cart... this was my 4th attempt at it.
 

I was in that mess today, trying to get ANYTHING, and not a single thing worked. Was my 10th attempt or more. Which is why I have given up. I refuse to play this stupid game any more. Got a decent (not great as it has a very low end i7 in it) laptop with a 3060, spent my budget, done, I am out till maybe next year.

So I definitely picked the wrong card model 3881 -XC3 Black 3080, this list seems to never move... ever. It is now going on 7 months waiting and I most likely I can kiss away the grandfather price clause from Oct 2020. If I knew then what I know now, I would have just signed up for the 3070 or a 3080 hybrid card model. I thought EVGA would have produced more of the closer to MSRP black models in general but they focus their limited silicon on the higher profit models mostly, which is understandable but it sucks for me and others waiting for the 3881.  I'm tempted to just go with a Radeon 6800XT which my friend is holding stock for me.... 

Low end mode always have the lowest sales and margins If u were them what would u do as a business

That's a pretty good laptop, I got myself a Gigabyte 15G with a 10850 and a 3060 for 1.5k

im still waiting for my 3080 black i don't think it will ever happen lol

This is a pipe dream. They have contractual obligations to retails that will always (must) get filled first.

I've never worked in any semiconductor business, but I have worked more broadly in consumer goods industries.  I can't speak to any contracts evga may have, but I can say that if evga decides to just go do their own thing, all the major retailers will shrug and say we will no longer list your products.  If there's a contract in place, there would also be lawsuits.  Assuming that isn't the case, never being able to get on a Newegg or Bestbuy or Amazon listing again would be a huge deterrent to closing business with those channels in the short run.
 
That might be good for business today, but it would be catastrophic in the long run.  You have to protect your shelf space, virtual or otherwise.

The timing will be good. As some of you know, I run a dog rescue organization. I had 2 puppies and a blind dog who arrived on March 12, along with a second blind dog who I adopted out a couple of days after she arrived. The puppies and the blind dog required a lot more work on my part than adult sighted dogs do.
 
The puppies were adopted together last Sunday, and the blind one was adopted Wednesday by the family who adopted the other blind one. As a result, it is much quieter here, it smells better (the puppies were cute, but messy), and I don't need to spend nearly as much time caring for the remaining dogs.
 
So, . . . , I'll have time to finish assembling my new computer when I get the new 3060.
 
I was hoping I'd get a 3070 or 3060 TI first, but I'll be happy with a 3060, and it will be adequate for my needs since I am not a gamer.
 
Hopefully, I won't have to buy another card for 5 years or so. When that time comes, perhaps I can pick the model I want, shop for the best price on it, and have it in hand a couple of days later. Just like it was in the old days when we could eat inside restaurants and thought people walking around wearing masks were criminals or nuts.
 
Back when I first signed up for a couple of 3070 models, we didn't know when the COVID vaccines would become available and I never dreamed that I'd be vaccinated before I got my 3070. But I AM vaccinated and I'll probably never buy a 3070. Probably a good tradeoff.
 
I've spent way too much time on this Board, on trying to get in on the RTX 3060 TI, RTX 3060 and RX 6700XT launches, on the Newegg Shuffle, and checking the Best Buy, B&H, Amazon, and Newegg sites for drops. The upside is that I've met some very nice people on this Board.

I see people are starting to come to the realization of what I've been saying for months now. This is a pathetic farce. EVGA is sending cards directly to partners while putting us in a que that doesn't move.

And which manufacturer is handling the situation better than EVGA?

Demand is far greater than supply. There's no way to for everyone to get what they want right now.

well hate to be cynical but I really hope the gaming industry suffers from this.  Because if no one can buy graphics cards to play their videos then we have no reason to buy their games.  I wanna player cyberpunk but with a 970 no thanks i won't buy it

In the same position, it will be a 2 year lag for me, hopefully the cycle won't continue but I fear as much. Triple-A titles that come put this year, I hope to be able to play in 2 years. I can't play with any reasonable FPS/Resolution/Settings with my current hardware, doesn't look got for getting new hardware for 12-months minimum. This may kill PC gaming.
